Hey,
While I was uploading this video I was thinking: Is the Dire Wolf too slow? I mean, the firepower was enough to get a red crit left torso on my BlackJack(Which got killed later afterwards by a Artillery Strike lol), but it could be that that pilot was panicking... Opinions?

The Dire Wolf is extremely slow, it is very positioning and team support dependant.

This is a good thing, because that's the only thing keeping it in check from ruling the entire game with Gauss encrusted fists.

Yeah, but Dire Wolfs get overwhelmed anyways if 2 lights are on it, even if it does have Gauss encrusted fists. Maybe increase the torso turn a bit, like say, 5%?

I'd say it's fine as is. Certainly doesn't need any help at this point.

Its slow speed and bad agility are necessary counter-balances to the fact that it carries a Metric Fuckton™ of firepower.

If you want more speed, you're gonna have to have less dakka.

It's not the speed that I worry about, it's the torso turn rate, like I said before, maybe a small % increase in rate?

That's because speed n numbers is how you drop a Dire :)

That or an angry Atlas...

It's called a Dire Whale for a reason, and it gives up that mobility for 50 tons of weapons.

I'd say it's fine.

I Think some more torso torso twist will be extremely appreciated in conjunction with a revision of the HUGE Archetype Movement values that's the real pain in the a$$ for slower Assaults and it's responsable of getting over-stucked... for example in caustic valley it's really dramatic :excl:

The prime and Alpha do have increased torso twst 5% over the B variant, the prime right torso has + 10-5% turning speed increase (i forget whether its 10 or 5%). I use boh as often as i can, with hill climb and it all helps alot when used together.

The Dire Wolf is slow, but it is not too slow.

Use the Hill climb module, I always do and I havent understood all the complaints about getting stuck, so it must be working.

Yes, a Metric Fuckton™ of firepower that's completely useless while focused and left unsupported by own team but the "getting stuck everywhere" and the too aggressive HUGE archetype movement type sounds a little too much handicap for my taste...

It's a walking Death Star. It doesn't need a boost to any stats.

Direwolf doesn't need any buffing. Its slow speed, slow torso twist and all that other slow crap is necessary to keep it in check. It can already torso twist fast enough to track most lights 100+ meters away which is plenty fast enough.

This is a necessary balance point.

2 lights should be able to overwhelm the mech that can one shot kill them with ease if they so much as step out in front of one for a split second.

I prefer Assaults & Heavies, I enjoy my Dire Wolves. The poor maneuverability can be frustrating at times, but seriously it must stay this way.

If you want to be able to defend yourself against lights better, be more "solo friendly" in general, and are willing to sacrifice a Gauss rifle's worth of firepower to do it - then you should give the Warhawk a try.

Less firepower, but really excellent torso twist ability, and good linear speed.
