Please PGI, i want to take out those stupid JJ's. i only had 2 fitted to allow for quick turns and leave me with more ammo and bigger weapons to play with. Unfix the JJ's and allow me to do my Clan thing in my Timberwolf :)

As I said two days ago PGI did this so that it would drive sales of new mechs and now they have released the presale of new IS mechs. So here is how it goes First 8 IS mechs < phoenix mechs < clan mechs< New IS mechs.

IMHO it's not that big of a deal. The TBR was overpowered even amongst the other clan mechs. Even now, it is not even down to summoner levels of configurability, and yet, it is still overpowered by comparison.

They should have had a consistent plan for omnipods from the get go, one way or another. They should have done a lot of things before leaving beta. Most of us have varying levels of discontent regarding the development. Nonetheless, whining like a child is not very becoming. Your mech isn't broken, it's different.

Have we forgotten this is a game?

My config actually got better, but I had to dump the TBR-S parts. I got an extra ERML on it and no loss to other weapon effectiveness.

This is not to approve of the fixed jump-jets, just to say the use of fixed jump-jets only harms the mechs it is applied too and is a grossly unfair and unbalanced nerf. It should be abandoned on all Clan mechs. It ruins the Summoner which would be a fine mech without the jump-jets. You can't say this is the way it is on Clan tech because in an Open Mechlab game all changes are possible to standard and omni mechs. I go along with the Closed Mechlab for Clan Mechs, but only if it is promoting balance across all Clan mechs and because so few have jump-jets they should be removable.

TBR is useless. We cannot do any balistic builds before and now we can´t even do lrm builds (low ammo). Only one reasonable fit is 4x srm and 4 ml. (Lasers are too hot and ppcs are overnerfed) In this case i think Stormcrow is much better choice now(its smaller, harder to hit, faster and it have only 2 tons less of free tonage with max armor than TBR).

Now i can see that buying Timber was worst deal ever. They killed Nova and now almost Timber too. What mech will be next?

The next mech will be all jumpcapable wave 2 mechs, and the dwf to be nerfed.

The Timberwolf is still the BEST. GODS. DAMNED. HEAVY. MECH. IN. THE. GAME. YOU. CHILDREN.

I just got done reshuffling my builds that got invalidated. ALMOST NOTHING CHANGED. I had to switch my laser vomit build to the S and my 4xCSRM6 build to the Prime. Both builds now have one more jump jet than before. I think one lost a targeting computer, and the other lost a heatsink. Not a big deal.

If you want fewer jump jets, just swap out an ST omnipod. If you need both to run 4xCSRM6, then swap that loadout to the C or Prime so you only have 4 jump jets to deal with. It's not like having 4 jump jets is a bad thing, either. Poptarting with SRMs is kind of funny.

Here is a relatively easy fix. Make it so that CT has an omnipod so we can have some of our previous loadouts with another chassis omnipod but lose some of our quirks like xp bonus or arm movement etc. That would be relatively balanced right?

They can't have you switching out CT omnipods because that's how they track xp per variant. If you want to use the CT from a different mech, just switch your whole loadout to that mech. That's what I did with my laser vomit and SRM loadouts.

There are a few people in this thread, who are not willing to hear any argument against their point of view. That this change was a huge nerf to the Mech, ruining nearly all builds, and making it almost unplayable from hereon onward.

So it's best to stop wasting our time and effort to proof them otherwise, and look on the bright side. That if they are true to their word, their will be a few less Timberwolves to face on the battlefield... Cheers!

I will still be using two of my 3 timbers the 3rd timber my Tbr -c which I named Cruel Tear will be sitting in my hanger collecting dust. My Tbr-c has left/right prime arms with 2 er mediums each, 1 er medium in the ct. The side torsos are both S and they used to mount 2 lrm5's, 1 uac2, 1 jj, 1 ton lrm ammo, and 1 ton uac2 ammo each. Additionally another 1/2 ton of lrm ammo is stored in the left arm. It only carries the stock amount of heat sinks so I am left unable to rip out any equipment to make room for 2 tons of ammo. The IS mechs will be getting a quirk system that boost certain weapons, but they can give up their boost for more flexibility, while most clan mechs get a - modifier for their flexibility. We should be making Omni mechs more flexible not less to make them different from IS mechs.

Why are so many people acting like there is only one possible setup for their TBR and KFX and no other can ever be made, whatever that loadout for that person might be ... Just find a new loadout you like.
How hard can that be ?

Oh noes ! It gots dem fixed JJs nao! The world is over ! *uninstall*

Timberwolf and Kitfox are still good, what´s the problem, Houston ?

All builds used in my garage have retained or even improved "BV" (I know its not an official term, I´ll just use it here cause I find none better) through this change, creativity and non-adherence to meta-dogmatism provided ;)

We are not crying about things changed. We are crying about loss of variability. Let me name builds what was left and we can call them reasonable:

4xml + 4 srm6 (very good build now even dangerous with more jjs because they cant hit us :) Just fly like a flies and turn like a hell)

2x ac5 or lbx5 + 4ml (not a good build because we must face enemy all the time so our torsos are in danger)

4xlrm10 without artemis + tag + 3ml or 3x sml if u like more ammo (not a good build too because it is a lrm build and kills with lrm builds deppends on luck)

1gaus + 2x ppc (good one, but im considerring it as too hot due to ppc nerf and it need good aim)

We cant use Ac20/10 because there can be only one be fitted = smaller dps than 2x ac5.

So thats all folks. Only 4 builds. IS Catapult (and timber shoul be better / evolved Catapult) is now better choice by my oppinion. Its slower but can carry 2*gaus + 2ml or 2*ac10 + ppc/4ml or 6x srm6.

do you know what i thought, like you "the originator of this topic" the JJs would be annoying and to some degree they were when they nerfed them hence I stopped playing with summoner because i couldn't remove them
but now they have given back some power to the JJ i can fly my TBR again back to the good old days of flying across canyons while shooting LMAO so for me it backfired badly
All they did was give me back my flying heavy
Happy flying everyone :D ....puts on nuro flying helmet..
Ironic someone was after LAM's in another topic LMAO just get your self a TBR S.....

Those magnificent men in their flying machines they go uppidy up up they go down diddy down down :D "yes I'm really that old" :P

If people really don't like the product they can always stop spending money for one and second just stop playing the game PGI is a business first.

edit: customers talking means nothing, until they start walking.

This is the gaming industry people walking away does not have the effect it would on another business, or else PGI would of stopped the business model of nerf the previous product and introduce a new one. This is the gaming industry and it has been proven that for every person who walks away another two will open their wallet. Or if by some means enough of us do close our wallets and no new players show up they will just kill the game and save their money. What does work is when people start acting like whinie little babies because it makes the developer look bad. We are also sick and tired of this cycle "poor players crying to pgi because they can not beat something, and they complain so much that pgi listens. Then we adapt and they complain again and pgi changes stuff, and it keeps repeating that way. This is an online game where you fight other people, there is no walk through there is no easy mode. If you suck instead of complaining go use the private matches to practice and get better.

Its always been the case that new stuff is over powered to sell them, when the rate of sales go down they nerf the crap out of it. Its happened over and over this is not a shock tbh and also adds to the reason why I have only ever bout mechs for Cbills ingame. By the time they get to that point they have been nerfed and you know what you are paying for. Sounds more like a scam really.

Oh yeah PGI claimed this was to bring the tbrs and kfxs inline with other clan mechs, but they also stated the only equipment that would be locked was that on the prime, so unless the S gets changed to being the prime they can not lock the jumpjets. It actually brings any jump capable none Prime Omni out of alignment with the rest of the mechs.

They can do whatever they want. If they ever decide to paint your TBR pink and put it in a tutu all you can do is not play anymore. You are not entitled to anything. This is a game, if you want to play it you follow their rules. Making up your own changes nothing.

Don't get me wrong. You can voice your opinion, nothing wrong with that. But just because it is your opinion doesn't make it the only one out there or means PGI has to do what you want.

You forgot the laser vomit build, which is one of the best builds on the chassis. I've also done well with an LB-20X+ 3xCSRM6+CERLL build on my TBR-C, which is hardly a top-tier loadout.

And any of those builds is better than a Catapult. The Catapult isn't even in the same ballpark as the TBR. Seriously, you can put just about anything on a Timber Wolf and it'll be better than most of the heavy mechs out there.

YOu do all know that this is not the original terms of service agreement that the clan mechs were released under, and because of that we could launch a lawsuit against them. But yeah my tbr-c is already pink. I am not saying we should take legal action, I am just saying we should all ask pgi to remove this fixed jj until the IS mechs have their quirks, and then determine if the tbr and kfx still need to be balanced. If they still need to be balanced I even have a better solution, that PGI has already implemented partly. PGI already made it so if a clan xl engine mech loses a side torso it loses 20 percent of its engines heat sinks. My solution is to make it so that if said mech loses a side torso it will lose 20 percent of in engines heatsinks + suffer a 5 percent speed penalty, and if the side torso belongs to a different variant the the CT it will add another 5 percent penalty to the heat and speed. Which would mean a tbr-c with tbr-s side torso's would suffer -25 percent engine heat sinks and - 10 percent speed for losing that side torso.

I would be willing to bet anything that the previous terms of service agreement had the exact same language regarding PGI's right to change content without notice or liability.. That's pure boilerplate man.
