No one is using "hacks". you are not being fired upon by "LRM boats". since clan weapons weigh less than IS weapons, many people will add an LRM launcher if they have extra tonnage.

as you get better you will learn how to avoid LRMs altogether. In the mean time, use AMS, the radar deprivation module, an/or use a mech that has ECM if you can. and above all stay near cover and use that cover the moment you hear "incoming missiles".

Damage is not the problem, the problem is the whole LRM/sensors/ECM implementation. The weapon goes from useless to game breaking depending on the conditions, without middle ground.

A good implementation would make players *consider* taking some LRMs without having to boat them.

Just tweaking damage/heat/recycle will not do it.

The problem is LRMs are good if not boated. But nobody takes weapons unless the have PP convergence or work well en mass. But why take an LRM15 when a PPC or AC10 is more effective, Unless you want/like to inflict damage to an unseen enemy?

We only need to adjust the amount of shake. And/or make radar deprivation the default way things work, cause this is the only module I use in every match.

you don't have to boat them. at all. More launchers means less ammo.

In all of my builds I never(ok, maybe one or two builds) have more than 30 tubes.

If you are being targeted from an unknown source you have been narced or they have a spotter.

If you are being killed by LRMs because you can't make it to shelter, your mech is too slow for the distance you are from cover, you you are not aware of where the enemy is.

These are essential skills to develop.

Good luck in the future on this. It took a while for me to figure it out too.

PGI - please REMOVE all weapon system PLUS NARC, TAG, ECM, BAP in the game except for:

1. Gauss Rifle (remove charging too)
2. ERLL
3. LPL
4. ML
5. Buff PPC/ERPPC to their original godspeed levels

So this way you don't need to worry about balancing ANY MORE since so we all know you are so incompetent at it.

The game now becomes the way the players want it a full on COD PPFLD shoot-fest - either you shoot faster / more accurate or yer dead - no bickering about ECM,TAG,NARC,LRM,SRM spread/etc, clan ding dong AC, PROBLEM SOLVED.

To be honest, and being a little evil here, pgi should change its front page phrase instead of "future is war" to Future is nerfs, because lately what i see more its nerfs and not great solutions, its easier to nerf than adjust, quick badges arent the solution

Depends on the mech. On a light or medium, yeah, it's a lot. On a heavy, meh... on an assault... that's like ordering an appetizer and desert with no entree.

Clan Blood Spirit Build. So not much ammo was carried. It was a very sturdy Assault with lots of pain!

The problem lies in the way match maker choses its mechs.. There is nothing in place that says: "Hey, maybe one side SHOULDN'T have 6 LRM boats." or "each side gets two LRM boats and two ECM."

The only thing I feel required is adjustment of Mech's sensor range depending on weight, so that Lights have the current range, and heavier mechs has less and less inbred ability to launch LRMs without support or targeting equipment. Overall though, having an enemy full of LRM boats on the contrary makes them very easy to wither down even with half-competent teammates.
