Got into it after looking for an alternative to Warthunder as I was getting burnt out. Tried shooters with my bf and our friends but I just spent most of the time shrieking and yelling and getting confused and becoming a victim. The guys are just soooooo fast on those things!

This game was more my pace. I used to only play games on my down time from sports injuries but I'm hooked on this game and am even reading the novels where i can find them.

Used to play on my laptop but it kept over heating so my BF had a Desktop built for me just for this game. Plays on high settings and look gorgeous! Even more fun flying at treetop level in WarThunder!

19 here. Lowest of low settings, despite having a decent computer. Though it is starting to age.

I grew up with mechwarrior 4. My dad had played since the 2's. We still have some MW 3 games (pirates moon, etc.), but they don't run on our computers that well due to compatibility stuff..

I actually know not a single person who has even heard of BT or MW outside of my own family. Plenty of gamers as friends, but they're more of the Nintendo sort for the most part.

36, for 2.5 months.

I got into battletech in high school. I got a Box set of Battletech PC games, Mechwarrior, Crescent Hawks Inception, and Crescent Hawks' Revenge. Couldn't contain my anticipation of MW2.

I got into the table top game at the same time. There was a local gaming store that sold war games and RPGs. I pretty much Jumped into Battletech, Shadowrun, Star Wars (WEG) and AD&D feet first all at the same time.

It was a great store. They had eight by six foot terrain boards for playing War Hammer, Epic, and 40K on, in addition to Battletech. Why use hex maps when you can play with a measuring tape on that big of a table? The store had low lighting, camo netting every were and awesome terrain boards.

PS: Oh yeah, that store also had two pizza joints 30 feet away.

I'm disinclined to say exactly how old I am, but I started playing TT in the 80's...and my first BT computer game was Crescent Hawk's Inception on Commodore 64.

22, started with the series with MW2 mercs, have almost ever single game, trying to collect the books. I wish people played table top here. I would trade my 40k IG pieces so fast.

28 here. I started with MW2 when I was 9 years old and played as many of the games as I could get my hands on.

MW2/Ghost Bear's Legacy, MW3, MW4, MW4 Mercs, MC2, etc. I even played the MechAssault games, and enjoyed them. (Just don't expect a sim experience)

I hate F2P games and refused to try MWO until May 2013. I played it and liked it, but got turned off by the grind and quite by August. I gave it another try when the free Centurion was being given out in February, and came back. I'm enjoying all the new events popping up every week, and expect to stay for a while.

started with Battledroids

I remember seeing the new Battletech box with the Warhammer on the front. I already loved Battledroids but with all that new art my little brain exploded. Thankfully there wasn't much of a mess. ;)

Started when i was 5 with mechwarrior 4 Vengeance demo in late 99 or 2K.
My dad used to buy a gaming magazine called XPC (R.I.P) which came with demos on a CD-R from the upcoming games so there it was, the CD had MW4 some Unreal (don't recall which) and that's how i started. It only had 2 lunar maps, The Raven, Catapult, Awesome and Uziel i only knew how to click mouse one and use the arrows so i only could use the first group of weapons (found out how to cycle them by pressing key by key) but damn was fun... doubt i ever uninstalled MW4 from my PC ever.

Example from may 1999 with the MW3 demo in.

So far, you and I are tied for the Oldest Mechwarrior award in MWO. :P Started with Battletech in 1985 then the Mechwarrior tabletop RPG from 1986 to 2006.

We should petition PGI for a special cockpit item. :D

20 Years. I know it is not much and I am probably one of the only player of a Battletech game in France.

I've heard before about Battletech and Mechwarrior (probably when Steel Battalion, the real one was well know in France).
And I never got to see the others Mechwarrior games. :(

I discovered MW: O with a publicity while I was consulting to find some free to play to try. I came, I saw, I found, and I played.
Before? I was a simple PUG with no knowledge of the Lore.
Today? I am a Wolf Clan member and I shall help my clan reach Terra first.

46.
Old enough to want value for money and prefer game play over just another graphic shoot-em up.
