Nothing more can be said. Streaks only help to compensate for the bad hitreg (or aiming), which is not so bad anymore. SRMs are faster and more precise with a lower cost of tonnage.

So you're running away from IS streaks in your lights? lol Im happy to see them i know they can't do anything to do me.
Unless they're boated, no. Regardless, it's a poorly designed weapon system that serves as a deterrent well enough. If you want an autoaim weapon system to be as effective as everything else I'm not sure what to say.

And? That's fine, if you only run something like 3 medium lasers anything will be fine fighting you. Run 6 though, and people will pay attention.

Because they are garbage and only a bit useful when boated extensively.
So are medium lasers, machine guns, small lasers, small pulse lasers, medium pulse lasers, AC2s... you get the point.

Lets be honest though, even when the Kintaro-18 Streak boats were running around, it still took forever to take down lights with it. And BAP range was short back then too VS ECM lights.
If that light didn't panic, they could still leg or kill their attacker in a 1v1 situation.

Really no skill? How is holding your mouse over a mech for a lock not the same as holding your mouse over a mech and pressing fire?

Ideally, Streaks would be redesigned such that they aren't like a randomly-targeting aimbot. I'd prefer MW4's approach where the missiles attempted to home in on the body part you pointed your reticule at (but they weren't guaranteed to hit that spot, i.e. torso twisting could deflect them to a not-targeted body part). That would fix their issue of hard-countering lights by making them require a modicum of effort to use, and would also make them more viable against larger targets due to not randomly targeting limbs.
But of course, the hardest part is convincing PGI to redesign the weapon at all...

The margin of error you can have with streaks and other lock on weapons is incredibly higher than what's allowed with aimed weaponry.

The distinction is that a typical direct fire weapon requires the user to hold their mouse over a very specific body part in order to damage it, while lock-on weapons only require the user to hold their mouse over a very large and broad area around the mech and the game figures out where the projectiles will hit.
I'm not saying that any of them are OP or UP, I'm just pointing out the differences in how they're used.
