erm, if they can stand at an landing pad at 10 meters, and Farm dropping mechs, anyone can.
No they simply cant.
12 guys, who are space rich, with the best drop decks in the game, on TS, against small groups and solo players....thats why that happens.
You wont see solo players or even other large groups, especially with IS mechs, pulling off the same feat, the vast majority of the time.
You simultaniously have posts saying theyre bad, and too good. The ones saying theyre too good are solo players, the ones saying theyre bad are solo players getting ***** by well organized groups of people in clan mechs, mastered, with full modules, on every single one of their 48 mechs. Doomcrows and Timberwolfs....as far as the eye can see.
Pull this off in your vindicators

There have been a few teams who could at least put the end score at something like 48-15. Those teams don't get spawn camped.

i think you dont get the Point of Dropships defending the Landing Zone.
If you be able to camp an Droppoint there is no change for the other Side to regroup.
You simply farm every Mech who drops.
It was clearly stated that exact this woud not happen.
Because for you its Fun to farm thoose Mechs, for the other Team its just boring waste of Time.
and if dont understand what this means for CW and even try to defend the current Mechanic youre simply not worth being an member of the Lords.
Edit says: i am sry , it was late at Night and mistaken an Poster as an Lord. that will not happen again.Sorry to the Lords.

I think you don't understand what exactly the dropships are capable of.
They won't defend an LZ by themselves, no. Nor should they, that would stack the mechanic way to heavily in favor of the defenders. They will, however, pick off open components with perfect accuracy and support a team provided that they don't all die at once, over and over. They do quite a bit of damage. People die to them often.
If there's a way to prevent spawncamping without strengthening the dropships, then sure that would be fine. You can't increase their strength though which making Rift especially more ridiculously annoying than it already is.
And lol at that last sentence. Someone doesn't know the team...

i feel drops ships range should be lowered to 500-600m and their damage doubled,

the issue is the landing corridor, when that dman dropship lands like 1400m away but flies across the attackers still and ahoots at them. thats not spawn protection anymore.
Attackers dropshipws however are so far away that they do not do this. The defenders dropships should come flying in from a vector ar their base.
see the dropship landing over there? two of them came at th same timy flying over my head shooting at the attackers, while we are a good bunch outside the gate eveen. the second one in the screen is currently behind the smoke, you cna see its thrust falmes slightly through the smoke. fresh SCR already damaged.

but they needed changed flying vectors, because it will at some point fly acrooss you and defend quite a lot more than just the landing zone.
further more on sulfur, the dropship lands right behind the main objective, making destroying it quite hard without having to wipe the whole opponents first at all.

Sarcasm?
The dropships are like 10 meters away from the objective...
The map design is just too small at the moment for Omega objectives.
