What about making a separate "guns for hire" queue which isn't tied to a specific planet but rather supports groups of less than 12 man on attacks/defense, or if not available, fills a complete "pug" attack and defense?

100x this!!!! Let the organized groups make the decisions, use the small fry people as the rank and file. We want to fight, give us orders and get us on the ground - I don't care where.

I hope that there are a general queue for solo player as I dont care which planet to fight on nor which mode (attack or defend). So far I cannot even get a single match to try out CW.

This mechanic suffers from the fatal, and I believe very flawed, belief that the only appropriate size for a battle in MWO is a 12 man team on each side. I must say, your dedication to 12 man's is nearly religious. It has broken this game mode irreparably and no amount of patching will make it anything better than, "not so bad as it used to be". Such a shame.

It's been two days, and I'm still trying to get into my first match. >.<

The challenge is just taunting me.

Edit: Apparently random complaining works, finally got into one. lol

In my experience it works best with: 4, 6, 8, or 12 man groups. 2 man's will likely find it difficult to get in matches quickly. But its okay if you don't want to play CW, assault/skirmish/conquest still work just fine.

Dude stop being such a duche. It's people like you giving the 12 man premades a bad name.

Maybe make the queue information more specific too, for instance if there are 2 12-man groups and 5 solo players waiting you could say "Queue size 29 (5 solo)" or something. This way as a solo player you know if you join that queue you'll be waiting for a 6-man premade, 6 more solos, or whatever.

so how does it work when the group leader manages to drop in a game and the rest of the group is left behind?

...? What because I'm offering advice about how to get into matches more quickly? Would you rather I lie and tell solo players they should definitely drop solo because long wait times and getting stomped by 12 mans is fun? I have to play my own share of conquest/assault/skirmish matches just as much as the next guy, you can't expect my small little unit to be on 24/7 - if my unit isn't ready I'm not going to waste my time trying to play CW solo.

I cant join any match either. I have 3 times waited over 20 minutes and am now again trying to join and it is up to almost 36 minutes. Wow. Came back to MWO to see the CW beta and cant see it at all.

Edit - Ok gave up waiting in the lobby at 40 minutes for my 4th attempt at joining a CW match. Ridiculous.

There should not be a penalty of a pilot to switch units within the same faction.

Hi!

This is my very-very first comment on MWO forum, and my english is limited as a Riflemans rear-armor.

So, I really want to try this community warfare, and invasion stuff, but I don't really know how. Where should I click with my mouse, for get into a battle...

I tried to find a tutorial on youtube, but... nothing. :-(

The only thing what I can see and try, is when I see "turtle bay need defense" click on it, than click on "defense", than nothing happens, just a very empty "preparing for drop" menu, with now waiting for team for 20 minutes, with a full empty company list...

I don't understands how this stuff works. :-(

This is a very good idea. It allows the large groups to continue attacking strategically while also making it possible for solo players to jump in and play. +1

suspend autowins till the player population is able to support 24 hour play for all factions or decrease it by a factor of 10 forfeits equals 1 win.

well, it would be nice if, after a cease-fire, won over planets would actually change faction sides :-)
still beta bugs i guess

aside from the MM thigs that can/should be done there is one more that MUST be changed

THE ATTACK TIME

i mean come on 24h attack time cycle????
thats just not fair for alot of people in europe (CET) the attack phase ends 10am. so we push all afternoon and evening only to have all our work destroyed while we are asleep.
this favors some factions cause players are (not 100% but to a certain point) distributed by lore

If there can only be one concurrent game for each planet, displaying a match timer while a game is being played out would also help quite a bit.

So its my understanding that 12 man groups are the smallest % of players in the game and CW was made for them. I cant wait to see whats made for the smaller groups (majority of players), that will be awesome!!

a faction Que would be great for small groups and solo players
just have 1 button we can click to join this que and we get placed into the first available match that is a valid target for our current faction
sure it removes the choice of what planet we are fighting for or if its attack or defend
but i (and im sure most of us small teams) just want to be able to get a game with out having to que for 3 hours

Too logical, maybe they are trying to force PUG player back to public queue and away from CW. LOL

As someone in another thread pointed out, this is NOT a Skirmish match - if you try to kill all of the defenders, instead of trying to reach the Objective (kill the Orbital gun), you will lose. Took me about 5 or 6 matches until I faced up against an attacking team that knew this, and ran right past us to the generator and blew it to hell. Most of the defenders were still hanging around the gates wondering what just happened.

I know that, the only times I won an attack was with an all-light mech rush.
Unfortunately, most people are not clever (or bold) enough to do that.
