Yes, page 666, looks like i missed the contest but looks like this guys the winner.

FYI:

Bishops original post at 02:20 PM was about the Champion mech if i recall correctly. Karmens original post at 02:21 PM was for the Dervish but had a broken picture link, both were edited. I see that the Dervish picture was added at 02:22 PM by Karmen Baric & Bishop Steiner edited his whole post at 02:25 PM to be about the Dervish. I was beat so didnt do a Dervish post myself. Looks like Bishop edited his post at 03:09 PM to then include the original quote from dervishx5.

Maybe the missile boxes will be smaller if you're running SRMs?

I mean, if PGI didn't take the lazy way out re-doing the dynamic geo on the CAT, hopefully it'll be that way

One way to balance the Butterbee is making the missile hardpoints been limited by 6 tubes each.

Indeed! I forgot the Dervish in my essentials list (fixed!).
Since it is a mech from the Battletech Started Box, I expect to see it in this game sooner or later.

It would make it less ideal as an LRM machine, that is for sure.

Yeah, there is no way they will move the SRMs to side torsos. By adding 2 more hardpoints, I expect the ButterBee to get the Tempest treatment, quirkwise.

according to normal view, I'm post 13001, or the first post of page 666.

Mind you, because of the annoying manner of Modding and how it impacts things, being the very first post, all it takes is one post earlier being deleted, then suddenly my post is page 665, the Neighbor of the Beast.

As for who actually "won" well, that will be for dervishx5 to decide.

that would be....bad. Extra structure, but no agility buffs? For a dedicated brawler? UGH. Agility buffs are life or death in that role, IMO, and much more valuable than structure buffs.

a LRM machine can get LESS ideal? There's an interesting concept.
(Thought the only way they were even "viable" was with 5-9 lrm5s.......)

I think you are right. That's why I can't see myself considering it. I already have a C-Bill boosted C1, so I'm pretty much set. :/

I never understood the fascination people had for the Butter Bee to begin with, so MEH. Now if they'd release the Grand Dragon as a way to re-monetize and offset the Dragon Rescale, and add a Takashi Kurita Grand Dragon Hero.....

SOLD.

You got an un healthy obsession with killing infantry Bishop o.O poor guys already have it rough!

Eh, on holding out to long on future tech. As I said before I view it as a true opportunity to fix current broke (good or bad) weapons and rebalance them to the new stuff.

- IS UAC's rebalanced to more like Clans (aka bursty)
- C-LBX/AC fixed for single shots.
- LBX/C-LBX increased crit chance and slighty narrower spread
- IS regular lasers give better heat values, but slightly reduced range.
- LRM/C-LRM 10/15/20 reduced spread

These a few things that would make current weapons have more flavor imo and not be obsoleted by future tech.
Making normal lasers the heat efficient system but no range would give them value compared to ER lasers for the IS that would be hotter but act like the Clan ER's. Many weapon systems not mentioned are in a good place IMO balance wise (besides a few over quirked mechs making them seem really broken)

Also this game should be able to ammo swap, if Armored Warfare can do it with multiple weapon armed vehicles (mainly AFV's) PGI should be able to get it right for the LBX and sometime in the future ATM's.

Idk I see adding future tech ad an opportunity to balance the game more if done right, not letting all hell break loose.

The problem was CK in TT weapons like RAC's, PPC capacitors, ATM's, MML's, Heavy Lasers, (i)HGR's and several other things just made an already steep power creep ever worse. A RAC/5 would completely obsolete the (U)AC/5/10/20, armour like FL armour makes FF even more of a joke as well as rendering things like a LB cluster shot pointless as it will do no damage. Future Tech doesn't always balance the game, that being said the IS knock off Clan weapons shouldn't be too much of a power creep here.

True, but we have seen not everything in TT translates to this game well and vice versa.

Heavy lasers have major draw backs in tons of heat generation. Reduced range, but yes as Alpha warrior goes they could be nasty although I could see many get in trouble with them, packing them on like normal ER would well.....you think the stock Nova prime is bad! I see them balaced just by massive fire power but at the cost immense heat.

RAC, just give them a high jam chance, risk reward weapon if you want to hold the trigger for a huge burst.

Armor, you got me there...

But... That's like... Not fun.

Why not have them require to spin-up, like... The fire-rate would increase the longer you shoot. Basically, instead of the double tap of UACs, it would be "Hold to go bam.....bam.....bam...bam...bam..bambambambambam"
