So Bishop, tell us.

Which LAM was your favorite, before you came to loathe them so?

Pretty sure we don't worship Bishop... .I know Him and I don't agree on many things.

I feel maybe I am the young gun here eager for stuffs, maybe lacking hindsight at times, but I think my heart as his are in the same place of Battletech being awesome. I just related to a different timeframe, which by my age kinda makes sense as the Civil war era was my teenage years, as the classis were your guys year you know?

Insulting Bishop though, or those that partake in conversation with him as a cult following? Huh....you funny man!

See, this seems like the more expedient route.

So often in these series, the main gun is handled like a weapon of desperate last resort. As long as your not being utterly reckless, use the thing. It's war. Shoot 'em. Less loss of life and resources on your own side.

That's what I liked about Frontiers, they didn't use it as a last resort weapon, it's how they started engagements usually.

I bet it was the Scorpion LAM
The best LAM, because it didn't bloody work (BUT IT LOOKED GREAT DOING THAT)

Looked better failing at it, due to being a heavy...Posted Image

Still though, at least the Champion had an aerodynamic body...

I'd hardly call that "aerodynamic"

I'm not sure folks are going to forget minimapageddon.

It's not really over until we see where it ends up after all the infotech goodies are included.

We won't get a soft ceasefire to collect the dead and wounded until we see if the hotfix provides enough "fix" for folks to go back to sharpening their pitchforks instead of brandishing them.

:(

On a happier inquisitive note, where can I find a reference for the crtislot and equipment assignments for TT mechs? (a mechbay-style loadout and build view)

(Edit)I'm asking because I'm not a veteran TT player, so I'm reference-deficient when it comes to TT info. (/edit) Is this a thing that's online?

I'm asking for 2 projects:

1) I want to look at the Firemoths, to see how their equipment was assigned.

2) I want to play around with theoretically possible, but never built IIC mechs. Stuff that was Star League era, which could realistically have gone into Exile, which for whatever reason wasn't IIC'd. (maybe because they simply weren't taken, maybe because they weren't common eniugh to bother, whichever) It's a total "what if" kind of daydream thing.

2a) Most specifically, I was fooling around with different ways a PNT-IIC would have been built out. Having stuff like the TT setups for other IICs would be a nice baseline.

2b) Other Star League era ClanTech theorymechs could be fun too. Catapult IIC anyone? ;)

If you have an android phone, there is an app called Mech Factory, it has PDF documents on the load outs and record sheets for 99% of the mechs in Battle Tech. The app is free, all you need to do is sign up to use it.

Just so you know, I'm mostly sure off the top of my head, that the bulk of the Fire Moth's fire power is arm mounted.

Oh I know... doesn't change the fact that I love L.A.M.'s...

Still L.A.M.'s wouldn't need to have the ability to mode change, just offer up WiGE movement and a constant state of "hover" in WiGE, with nerfed agility when not moving in WiGE. Have them hard locked at 171km/h when going flat out in WiGE (they should have 15 hex movement for the Stinger/Wasp/Phoenix Hawk L.A.M.'s), also make it a requirement that they move 150m in a strait line every 10-15 seconds to maintain WiGE...

You understand how WiGE works right? That is basically asking PGI to build a very complex flight simulator into of their game... for three LAMs. For perspective, that would be more work than getting quads in the game.

Yup, I understand. But I also see it as not such a large step to go from WiGE mechs to WiGE vehicles, hover vehicles and Helicopters. Stepping stones my friend, stepping stones to the bigger picture.

Well, getting quads in the game wouldn't THAT much work.
Seriously, most of the required "work" could be even worked around the quirk system.

First and foremost, the IK is coming back, that's a no-issue;
So what's there to do with the quads?
Make them have no torso twisting,
increase the base turning speed a by a f*ckton, bind it to the mouse (basically the mouse instead of turning the torso would turn the entire mech, like if you're holding the button for centering the legs and moving the mouse around)
The only thing that'd require any actual work is implementing side-ways movement, which i really doubt would require that much work anyway.

And that would lend its self to a lot of the tanks and power armour in BT too, see bigger picture.
