Dragon at different times has been depicted both ways and tbh, while the TRO 3025 version 99% likely had no elbow, with Loose art, I can't call it 100%. But if that was what PGI was going for that makes it's doubly aggravating that PGI seems dead set against actually introducing the Grand Dragon.

Record Sheets have always given the Dragon an elbow (shoulders, upper arm, lower arm) for the right arm so I guess was always intended that way.

I want the Grand Dragon too, but if we do, it loses one crit slow in the left arm as its record sheets have given it a hand actuator unlike the Dragon. Probably won't matter given it would only be an energy arm anyway.

only victor that had a high arm was the LiuBei Whatever with the Long Tom and some fan art, IIRC. Dragon I'll grant though it's whether it had an elbow in the original illustration or not only Loose can answer. Not like there hasn't been a long history of people screwing up Loose's designs (Assassin, Dervish, etc) or FASA jsut not able to keep the fact checks and editing straight (King Crab)

*shrugs*

Dislike the the CT/Cockpit geometry, but otherwise doesn't look too bad. Should have decent hitboxes, and great speed. Not my first choice, and a pity it won't be able to Scout, but should be interesting.

Well, technically the AC20 mounted Victors shouldn't have an elbow, because according to the record sheets it only has a Upper arm actuator in the right arm.
Like the Lu Wei Bing (which has an LBX20 in the right arm)

So... the Black Lanner it is... Surprise Posted Image

Kinda strange that a dedicated scout mech is excluded from scouting, but well... community asked for it, community got it...

I have to say... Alex Iglesias did a fantastic job on it. It really looks gorgeous. Have to see how weapon convergence will be tho.

Seems like the Ice Ferret has finally been put into the fridge tho. Everything it does the Black Lanner does better. At least it doesn't have Jump Jets, otherwise it would even outclass the Shadow Cat. But the amount of ECM PPC snipers will increase a lot when this hits...

Next we need another roadmap to see what kind of weight class is next. It will be another IS mech for sure. We just got a light and an assault, we'll get a heavy very soon and a medium next month... So either another light or another assault? I suppose if so, then both on the low end of the weight class (20-25t or 80-85t).

Irrelevant since it has always been depicted with a bet elbow until that model. Also the King Crab has elbows and vestigial "hands" yet was intended for the ac20s to be entirely in the arms. They simply aren't able to give yaw on those designs (also see omni mechs)

Probable, but record sheets have had their share of errors (early record sheets gave the rifleman full arm actuator sets too... and it was the records sheets that caused the headache over the King Crab... despite the original TRO specifically stating the ACs were entirely in the arms and not having split crits)

Then why the Dragon with the high mounted arm despite the lower arm actuator being in the sheets is relevant?
AFAIK, every single non-Grand Dragon had the arm mounted that way in every mini and every artwork.

You either follow the artwork or you follow the record sheets. Not artwork for one mech and record sheets for another. Consistency. It's all i ask for.

Then you are in the wrong franchise. But the default rule from Battletech itself is Record Sheet trumps TRO, Sourcebook etc. Also again, many mechs are depicted with elbows that don't actually appear to have lower arm actuators.

Then if we're going for Record Sheets > Artwork. Victor shouldn't have an elbow, despite the artwork showing it. (and i'd prefer it that way, cause it looks way cooler that way) and i'd be FINE with the Dragon having the elbow if that was the case with all mechs.

or you accept it for what it is. Arguing with me won't change anything.

also, aesthetics are subjective. I hate how BOTH of them look without elbows. But they would be more "meta". *shrugs*

Agreed...

Hang on..

1- Flea
2- Raptor
3- Razorback
4- Wasp
5- Solitaire

Still. If we had the tech and not a light... I would like the Werewolf. PGI could fill in the gaps with variants/ configs that lacks.

Also the Chimera are welcome. I liked it more than the Hellspawn..

Is this just generic spitballing, or have they stated anywhere that they'll be doing IS mech next?
Or any statement of what any next mechs will be?

As much as I would like a Fafnir I seriously doubt they add another 100t mech right after they just added one (Annihilator). Also Fafnir has very few variants (2) available just yet.

Is there any word by Russ on his intent to add IS omnis? I somehow remember him saying that he doesn't want to just yet, but that might be an old notion. If so I would be interested to see a Hauptmann or Templar so Steiner has some more lights for their recon lances.

Argus would be interesting, but again, very few variants yet available.

Chimera has even less variants.

Light could be a Raptor, Arctic Fox or Owens if you like IS omnis.

But if so, they could actually dish out an IS omni pack with 2-3 variants of omni mechs of all weight classes.

PGI has been on a roll of adding several MW4 nostalgiamechs. Odan is assuming that PGI will continue the trend until they run out of such mechs.

The next mech HAS to be IS since we just had two Clan mechs in a row (Piranha and Blanner).

I was checking for the sake of my all-mechs charts I'm updating - confirmed weight classes can be added.
As-is, no worry then.
