I think it comes down to the perception of utility on these.
-Phantom will be fast and nimble like a locust with ECM and comparable pay load, something I would love.
-Pouncer would give us a jumping Adder, and much less fragile than the underwhelming cougar
-Mongrel- a jumping ice ferret! what part of that isn't need sooner rather than later!

Coyote is a good fire support unit, slightly slower than the Viper by about 16km/h (7/11 vs 8/12), but with nearly double the pod space, with everything at cockpit level or slightly higher.

Btw... going through that list of lights introduced in the Civil War era made me aware of a few new variants that could be introduced to existing mechs. Some of those variants would really add something.

Disclaimer: This is just a list of chassis released in the Civil War era. I might have catched a Clanbuster variant here or there, but missing chassis of the Clan Invasion era are not included.

We could have:

We could have:

Clan:
MLX-F
HBK-IIC 3 (might conflict with PGI variant)
EBJ-H (redundant)
NTG-H
MAD-IIC 2 (redundant)
MAD-IIC 3 (redundant)
SNV-2 (redundant)
SNV-3 (redundant)
SNV-4 (redundant)
KDK-2 (redundant)
KDK-3 (redundant)

We already have the SNV-3, KDK-2 & KDK-3. Unless they were just included for the sake of completeness?

Having a look at the rest, some of them look familiar to ones I hope we get as (L) variants at some point.

Yeah, should've phrased it differently, but same thing basically. Tho admittedly PGI always gets me with the clan Battlemechs and their naming convention...

There're some really interesting variants available to the IS... Lots of ECM variants, added Jump Jets to variants which had none so far, missiles to the Firestarter might also be interesting.

You forgot some variants, like the ballistics Commando, the ECM Firestarter and the Victor 1A. In the OP there is a link for all missing variants.

EDIT: here is the link.

Yeah, that VTR-10S isn't listed on sarna for some reason. It's from TRO3050u. I guess since it's a Steiner variant it carries a HGauss or some such.

Other than that, I absolutely agree on your opinions.

No sign of the VTR-10S in my copy of TRO3050u(Trust me, I have the page open right next to me). The only variants listed here are the 9K(already have it), the 9C(C3 mod to the 9K), the 10D(UAC20, Endo, CASE, Streaks, Doubles, and ER lasers), the 10L(Stealth Victor), and the 11D(Light engine, RAC5, Streaks, Case, Doubles, ERLLs, C3).

Thanks for checking. I don't have any of them lying around. I actually got the variant from the Master Unit List.

Btw... I just found it. It's in here.

As suspected it carries a Heavy Gauss Rifle (critsplitted) in the RT, a Gauss Rifle in the RA, 2 ER Mediums in the LA, an SRM4 and AMS in the LT, XL engine and no jump jets.

a collaboration by Shiny Pants and myself.... though I'd say 90% of the DNA is his, mostly I just had the idea to turn it into an Axman and modified a few bits (bigger feet, lol :P)

but I take full responsibility for the Bad Crayola paint job.. which IS as gaudy as it looks, but for legit purpose.

- It belongs to a warrior in the 17th Recon Regiment (Camacho's Caballeros). For those unaware, they hail from a part of the Free Worlds League known as the "Trinity Worlds" or "Southwest" where the culture is a mix of Native American, Cowboy, various aspects of Mexico, etc. This in particular belongs to a warrior who deeply celebrates his Aztec heritage and had the hatchet modified to resemble the Macuahuitl of his ancestors. And of course, the paint job is a full "tribute" or immersion into the Jaguar Warrior culture.

And to avoid besmirching Shiny's good name, I'll post the original line work here

and what it became

I know it isn't produced until 3062 (3068 for some variants) in the lore but the Hellspawn technically has enough variants that use all the current weapons in the game. And it has a unique variant which would work for a hero.

I'm referring more to the current technology level we have now (Fedcom Civil War).

Kinda weird having two different dates the game goes by. Does this mean we get the machine gun array soon?
