Yeah PGI would have to be beyond crazy to not have lots of fanfare around announcing IS omnis. MechCon makes the most sense to me but I suppose they're concerned with how clan battlemechs are generally stronger than their omni counterparts. IS omni's are interesting but potentially weaker if the trend holds.

I used to really like Davion but now I'm more of a merc so when I see a potentially strong mech I go for it. Plus as Fup & FLG said, inflation and quirks plus PGI variants can give it extra variety.

Honestly I'd just like a strong 60 tonner as those in game are just ok

I'd say that one thing about the Anvil versus Lancelot comparison is the Anvil doesn't look like a Rifleman.

Counting on Quirks is a bad sign.... just look at what happened with the Thanatos and Uziel....

The torso hit boxes would likely be similar to the King Crab, but with likely Dire Wolf torso twist range and speed, meaning it's not going to fare so well in that department.... I still find it insulting that the King Crab gets double the twist speed and twist range of the Dire Wolf....


That being said, in TT, the Turkey is actually decent to good (depending on the variant used), but again that is under TT game rules, in MWO I'm not sure it is going to do well, everything from the locked 6t of JJ's to all the detriments that get attached to Clan Tech, namely weaker quirks to make up for the weapon quality imbalance of tonnage and crit space requirements.


But hey, I'm not one to begrudge anyone's pet mech, I got three of the four that are mine and two of them turned out good so far. (Bushwacker and Warhammer) So all I say is go into a mech with both eyes open, as well as a realistic expectation of what it'll be like based on similar examples already in game and you shouldn't be surprised with how it performs in the end.

I know. I'm not a metawarrior, but I'm very aware of the Turkey's limitations (specially the speed and those wasted 6 tons for jumpjets). Still, I always loved the Turkina and will certainly get the C-Bills version and try to make it work. If PGI manages to make it marginally decent, even better.

I'm no Metawarrior either, I just base my expectations on how it works in TT as well as keeping in mind the game mechanics of MWO... that being said, there have been a few surprises for me in terms of performance, for instance the Mad Cat Mk. II turned out better than I expected, same with the Line Backer and Bushwacker... everything else has been inline with what I was expecting performance wise (baring god quirks, looking at you Annihilator).

PGI said they will continue to use the "classic" designs BUT what they don't say is: "will they be able to add more Macross Unseen designs?" (namely Wasp/Stinger, Crusader, Longbow, Stone Rhino)

This is just pure speculation but it looks like the VMI mechs are in the clear, judging by the fact that we got the Incubus this month. I'm not sure if the Stone Rhino belongs in the same category as the IS unseens you listed there since the artwork was created by VMI since it was lumped in as "unused concept art". Guess that will mean all of the unseens are in the clear if we get the IS Crusader or any other new unseen in the next month or so.

I'm praying for Wasp or Valkyrie as the next IS light mech. While probably a little under powered in MWO, they would be perfect for upcoming MW5 and HBS Battletech.

I see no need for the Valkyrie, but the Wasp is essential.

I'm not playing MWO lately, but I would support a Project Phoenix II (Wasp, ?, Crusader, Longbow).
