Well that leaves us with GDC 2013. I believe they are going to be there.

At least we can be sure that Alex has done some concpet art, since the new weapon ports all needed a concept art first.

Bryan: No, definitely not. our backlog, which is where we store all of our ideas, takes up most of our storage space.

So ALL 2.44 MB? The WHOLE 3.5 floppy?? THAT'S AWESOME!

J/K, love you PGI :D!

... if I ever get my hands on the guy responsible for Bryan getting hold of that book....

Just listened to NGNG#64 with Bryan Ekman and one of the community questions was relevant... The answer is basically what we've already heard, but with an interesting addition...

Q from Norris (J Packard?): It has been a long time since the last bit of concept art and on the NGNG podcast from about a month ago PGI said "soon." Can we get a firm date or an ETA on concept art?

Bryan: from a mech point of view, new mech announcements, we are holding off for a little bit. And it's partially marketing reasons, so just bear with us. We're actually creating space in our schedule. I'll let you figure that out on your own.

Darren: So it's not because you ran out of ideas?

Bryan: No, definitely not. our backlog, which is where we store all of our ideas, takes up most of our storage space.

Bryan: Is it cruel of me to say that I have at least six more designed already?

The question was from Norris. In fact the majority of the questions posed to Bryan were from Kong Interstellar. 40 minutes to go. I'm trying to organize our group to be there tonight.

not saying this is it but his remark on "We're actually creating space in our schedule" could be in regard to having an extra 5th week in April to do nothing with if we don't get a 3rd patch in April?

I've gotta ask, how on earth does a scheduling conflict stop concept art from being released? They never release an estimated release date with concept art so the idea of it's release hampering the scheduling of content doesn't make sense.

he admitted the hold back is a marketing reason. I'm dreaming hear but maybe we will get 3 or 4 mech concept art pieces released at once because they are Reseen/PGI designs.

I dont see any mention of a scheduling conflict

and as for "creating space in our schedule"... that could mean anything.. they could be planning a lot more than just releasing concept art with the new mech announcements...

But 3 months is a long hiatus for any concept art. You'd think they'd end off at the nice even number of 20 but nope!

i always thought it was silly to "announce" mechs 6-8 months before they got put into the game.

This, I'm actually pleased we're going light details. Ideally at most with a rolling 'Mech announce scheduled I'd hope for next month (ie Jager announced Feb, released March)

Not forgetting anything, Nightstar doesn't have 3 variants so it's a no go.

Sarna has listed the 9J (not the custom one at the bottom), 9FC, and 9SS so according to that the Nighstar isn't completely off the table

Or it could mean August (if they want to catch up with the mech release in game). :(

Again, holding back something great for the sake of marketing. I wonder whose marketing is this? Hawken's?

The first Nightstar variant is from 3058, so... no go.

Ah I forgot to check the variant date. Reading comprehension failure...
