Sounds good, but i'm still a bit disappointed. I have nothing against 4 more IS Trashcans, but me and my clanmates are bored about waiting for Clan tech. 6 more months ... Man ...
Maybe a Banshee could keep me in the right mood! Dunno.

Took them HOW LONG to tell us that? I don't understand why they don't just tell us what they are doing. Sometimes the whole "behind the scenes" stuff is what gets them in trouble.

I think it's more important to know how long did they actually mean.

Very soon is just a higher form of "soon" which equals anything from after immediately to infinity.

FYI
later this year - up to 12 months
soon - up to 6 months
very soon - up to 3 months

Disclaimer
This is only a rough estimate as we all know what problems PGI has with dates.

That's not entirely accurate. The last date outline coupled to a "soon" from a dev was during the Russ interview that spawned the Pay 2 Play fiasco.

In it he was asked when the 12 v 12 feature was coming and he said "soon, as in 60-90 days". We can gather from that, that "very soon" is probably in half the time so it should be 30-60 days or 1-2 months and in-between that time.

Since he made that post yesterday we should get some news between April 19th and June 19th.

Which puts E3 right in that timeline. June 11 to 13th. Which was why I said earlier in the thread that I wouldn't expect an announcement before mid-June.

If we get something before then I would be shocked.

NIGHTFUCKINGSTAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(Nightstar)
that is the official name
This could be one beast of a mech escpecially with the ability of our wonderful friends from MWO. I love this mech almost as much as i love the fafnir and devastator its just something about ppcs and gauss in the same mech that make me want to pilot the **** out of it.

As noted previously (in this very thread, no less), look at the dates in the Nightstar's Master Unit List entry, and then look at the TROs.

The original Nightstar variant (the NSR-9J) was developed in 2767, but it was lost to the Succession Wars (the sole factory was destroyed and the design/engineering team was killed) and the 'Mech wasn't reinvented until 3056.

The second Nightstar variant (the NSR-9FC) was developed by the Federated Commonwealth in 3057.
The NSR-9J (Brubaker) is a personal variant (of a character named Brubaker), and is more like a Hero 'Mech than a regular variant.

The third Nightstar variant (the NSR-9SS) was developed in 3065.

Each 'Mech in MWO needs to have three variants in order to be able to unlock the Elite efficiencies, and MWO's taking place at a specific point in the BattleTech timeline (with March 2013 = March 3050, with a 1:1 time progression) requires that those three variants be already existent at this point.

So, no - the Nightstar doesn't work for MWO at this point in time.

I keep telling people that there are three Devestator variants right now. I don't care if they are largely similar, look at the Stalker variants. Nobody cares. Just give them different quirks and AMS hardpoints and it will be enough.

So after another one of 'those' matches I had an idea about a new Hero Mech:

May I introduce you to the AS7-WWWWWWWWWW.
It's designed to keep some basic battle efficiency and quiet a punch no matter how hard your systems fail.

The AS7-WWWWWWWWWW comes with an Endo-Structure, a Heat Sink Upgrade (and a total of 12 Double Heat Sinks), a STD 315 Engine and 18.5t Standard Armor

The Weapon Loadout is:

2 LB-10X AC (3t Ammo)
4 SRM 6 (6t Ammo)
2 AMS (2t Ammo)

And because it is a Hero Mech it will come with bonus features:

- For those matches where you get an IFF bug the AS7-WWWWWWWWWW will come with a sound file playing 'I'm sorry' over it's external speakers every time you accidentally shot a friendly mech.

- And because an Atlas Hero Mech is so huge and expensive it will come with a second feature. The AS7-WWWWWWWWWW will play the kaleidoscope bug for 10 seconds every time you kill a mech.

- Both features can be played at the same time

And you would (still) be incorrect. There are exactly four canon variants, with only two of them being available for the better part of the next in-universe decade.
While the chassis may be available, it doesn't have enough current variants for MWO, for the time being.

And for the sake of completeness, the other Devastator has only one variant... Posted Image

If it isn't, someone's going to have a really bad and I mean really bad time.

Waiting those 2 hours will be worse than watching the match against Canada the last year.
Excited as ever, but still pessimistic.
