I think we can use some physical attacks now

A good strategy with a couple Banshee variants on table top was to close in onto the target while firing both the PPC and the autocannon, then get right up to the target and either kick legs off or punch heads into space

An assault 'mech on the upper end of the class that can go 64 kph right off the bat can be pretty scary, but it might benefit from some XL engine treatment.

Does that imply It's out somewhere already???

...

'La Malinche', does this mean anything to anyone? I may be on to something... And where is this Koniving video which Monsoon speaks of? Unfortunately I think we've got a Banshee coming our way, which wasn't what I was hoping for

The Mackie is pretty uncommon these days... after all, it's not produced for the last 300 years.

From Sarna:

Maybe a Star League cache is found.. IDK, all I do know is, I'd pilot that beast. I wouldn't mind a little lore breakage if it meant getting that Mackie (notice I said THAT Mackie).

Ok, so I have to ask:

- Is 'La Malniche' the name new Hero Mech?

- What Konivig's video are people referring to?

And most importantly - what are sources on above?

(I've planned to not care about new MWO mech this month until it's released. Well, that never works...)

From Wikipedia:

Quote

La Malinche (Spanish pronunciation: [la maˈlintʃe]; c. 1496 or c. 1501 – c. 1529), known also as Malinalli [maliˈnalːi], Malintzin [maˈlintsin] or Doña Marina [ˈdoɲa maˈɾina], was a Nahua woman from the Mexican Gulf Coast, who played a role in the Spanish conquest of Mexico, acting as an interpreter, advisor, lover, and intermediary for Hernán Cortés. She was one of twenty women slaves given to the Spaniards by the natives of Tabasco in 1519.
Later, she became a mistress to Cortés and gave birth to his first son, Martín, who is considered one of the first Mestizos (people of mixed European and indigenous American ancestry).
The historical figure of Marina has been intermixed with Aztec legends (such as La Llorona, a woman who weeps for lost children). Her reputation has been altered over the years according to changing social and political perspectives, especially after the Mexican Revolution, when she was portrayed in dramas, novels, and paintings as an evil or scheming temptress. In Mexico today, La Malinche remains iconically potent. She is understood in various and often conflicting aspects, as the embodiment of treachery, the quintessential victim, or simply as symbolic mother of the new Mexican people. The term malinchista refers to a disloyal countryperson, especially in Mexico.

Do you know what La Llorona is? The Mexican Banshee!

Where did you hear that name?

Weird thing - some people in linked NGNG thread seem to have some details (JJs, for example), but there's no actual source for the entire "La Malinche" thing..

Argh.

I can't find anything more about this Malinche mech.

If it is real, it is the Banshee hero mech! (and finally a nod to us from the Latin America - oh, I hope it has Aztec/Mayan motifs)

I bought the hero Firestarter an it looks like I will buy the next hero mech... that's the minimum I can do for two mechs I've been asking for a long time.

Jesus, it just hit me: it will look like this:

Kudos on finding that to translate! Not sure where those guys in the NGNG forum got that from, but it must've come from somewhere? I was hoping for 'The Mexican Crab', but there's still time for that

Well, I've been hoping for Aztec/Mayan motifs for long time - for some reason I've felt they'll look incredibly good on one of Alex's designs.

We'll see (hopefully) in few hours.

How subtle...

Also, a lot of it looks like borrowed Battlemaster parts.

Dunno. Looks like it was up on the HPG reddit about 40-45 minutes ago. Just 5-10 minutes ago on the MWO reddit.
