One thing they mentioned there when it came to new maps was also variants of old maps. Like a Canyon network where the canyons are filled with water. Something like that I would really like to see if it was done right. That is, water which is actually deeper than thigh high to a heavy mech. Water which would completely cover the tallest of mechs. Imagine the possibilities of they did this right with water slowing movement and covered Jumpjets unable to be used. Mechs completely covered by water being basically invisible on the radar map (perhaps with the exception of seismic sensors) and unable to in turn detect anyone else as well (again with the exception of seismic) They would need a scout to lead them to the enemy as they stalked forward in hiding, and then the lance of Urbanmechs rise out of the water unexpectedly behind the enemy, Death Incarnate as they blow the inferior non-Urbies into scrapmetal before returning down into the sea that spawned them! :D

I'm a fan of more map variants and the flooded Canyon Network idea is one of may favorites. I wouldn't do it very deep though, imagine trying to find that last Spider..... I'd rather they filled it to about head high for a Jenner, you know, the deepest parts are no deeper than sections of Forest Colony or Crimson Straight. Also, This would be hard for PGI to code, but it would be a neat dynamic to have the water flowing and pushing against your mech. It is a flood after all. Imagine that AFK or D/C mech gettign swept away into a pile near one edge. Since the new rejoin mechanic, maybe have the flood waters flow start after 10 minutes or something....

Canyon Network - Flood has my vote.

I say half fill the trenches myself, maybe 2/3.
Would make me actually look forward to that map. :D

How about "Caustic Valley - Acid Rain", where the rain slowly applies damage to 'Mechs; the rate is slow enough that, say, a fully-armored Locust would be brought from fresh to 50% (dark-yellow or light-orange) armor by the time the match timer ran out? :D

And, yes, the acid rain could eat away at (e.g. apply damage to) exposed Internal Structure and components as well...

Right then. I'm glad I run Inner Sphere mechs with (mostly) their hand actuators intact, because if that ever becomes a thing I'm buying a mechsized umbrella for my Thunderbolt! :D

Look this, guys!

Listening to it now. Incidentally, it includes a possible energy limit for gauss and ppc.

Edit: Next new chassis is IS.

Next SET of Clan Mechs involve the Mad Dog and Hellbringer. No ETA, but possibly before all the current 8 are released.

Reinforcement Package is not currently being considered... but they are interested to hear if people want it.

Interesting. I'm thinking Vindicator for the next new chassis then.

Oh, and if the Mad Dog/Vulture is arriving soon that is actually the _one_ Clan mech I as a grouchy old Inner Sphere grognard would be willing to buy, just for the fact that I always loved the way the original Vulture design looked (the MW4 redesign was a damn insult to the style and elegance of the original).

Russ has mentioned the Vindicator, but with no specific ETA.

Wasn't the Mauler supposed to be the next chassis?

While i generally prefer new maps, the Flooded Canyon network idea feels rather fresh. Flooded canyon network needs to have a rainy lightning storm and more dirt ramps caused by erosion.

And what about Tourmaline Desert with electric storms!? ("Tourmaline Storm"?)
This could cause great interference in the mech's sensors, making people rely more on the visual.

I think a dust storm would be great for that map. Limited visibility similar to Frozen City when it is "snowing", but you couldn't just swap to heat vision to get around it like FC due to ambient heat.

One more low-vision map? I wouldn't look forward for that.

I don't think much can save Tourmaline tbh.

Tourmaline Night could be interesting to a degree, Tourmaline Sandstorm could be interesting.
Some sort of Interference based map could be interesting too tbh...

I think it'd work better on HPG Manifold though.
HPG Manifold - Flare

Where Solar Flares are disrupting electronic signals.
All mechs require direct line of sight to get a lock.

Brawlers would. I would love a low-vision map that actually stopped snipers for once...

Oh, and I would have the sandstorm be inconsistent, unlike FC, so you could have no storm on one part, and a sandstorm fly through mid match to change things up.

So, new IS mech this Tuesday?

Mauler?
Grasshopper/Guillotine?
Vindicator?
UrbanMech? :(

EDIT: scratch that Grasshopper/Guillotine: the next heavy will be the Lancelot!
