Logically, they would be a completely seperate frame with its own variants.

As far as I know though, there is only one IIC variant per chassis. So if you count them as their own chassis, they will never have the variants required and I doubt PGI would create two variants per chassis just to meek that requirement.

If added, these mechs could count as variants of the IS mechs, for XP purposes (because they don't have 3 time-wise variants on their own). This is a strange solution, tough.

Seriously, imagine if the devs worked out the speed cap issue with the engine to allow the Firemoth and then released THIS pack at the end of 2015. That would be some good sales right thar.

I don't quite understand though, the IICs do in fact have variants... the Jenner and Locust in particular have present-timeline-friendly variants to boot. In fact that 25-ton Locust would be a STRONG clan mech, even in the prime config.

If PGI decides the bump our timeline a decade or so after the first period of community warfare, we could see ATMs and RACs and get our Hunchie IIC, plus some other goodies.

Depends on the 'Mech. Most IIC and other Clan second line 'Mechs have only one or two variants by this point in the time line. Fortunately those listed can be used as Clan tech spin-offs of the originals. Level them up in regular play, then roll in them when fighting for the Clans in CW.

I made a listing of them here.

For most of them, the issue is having the variants out-of-timeline; several of the second-line, non-OmniTech Clan BattleMechs' third variants (if they have them at all) aren't available until well into the Jihad era.
For that matter, a good number of them of them don't have their second variant available until around the time of the Great Refusal and/or the FedCom Civil War.
And some, like the Commando IIC and the Orion IIC and the Wolfhound IIC, never even get a second variant, much less a third...

Aw. Granted it was a bit OP and does still work with single fire, though that kind of defeats the purpose of rotaries.

I prefer the 2K and it always bugged me that it did not carry any backup weapons so no big loss on the TC front. Guess they tossed the single shot bit in there just so they would not have to errata a bunch of variants.

Didn't I hear in Devlog8 from Russ that MASC, tricky mechanic that it is, is still on the table? We may yet see these mechs (and the Dasher is going to be one nasty opponent).

The Fire Moth is the very definition of "boom and zoom" for light mechs.
