My big wants are a little off the wall, but the Hellbringer will just become the last WHM-6D I ran, so should be okay..

My big wants:

MAD-4X
WHM-6R or D
CRD-3L
PHX-HK2M LAM
WSP-105M LAM

In other words the "Harmony Gold is dead" pack...

The LAM's are there since I love to fly, and I love versatility.

heh, I had even turned the battlepods into typical 3025 40 tonner mechs. And not talking the OST pods, of which the resemblance was stretching things. One of the major quirks way putting the JJs in the arms and using the shoulder actuators to maneuver them.

Neat, I never would have thought about doing that, but makes a lot of sense actually.

Yeah, the Osts are a bit of a stretch as "unseen" because they're not really that close to them. In many cases the only real resemblance is the legs, which appear to have been battlepod legs turned around so they have humanoid legs instead of chickenwalker legs.

Of course, the Osts are not really the mechs anyone wants when we talk about the unseen anyways. They were always the redheaded stepchildren of the 3025 TRO. :)

Fun fact: in Norwegian "ost" means cheese. :D

Well, that would be "Djevelens Geitost". There's your bandname right there. :D

In your clan hero speculation tab you have the following

"Summoner: Joanna's? Elias Crichell's? Marthe Pryde's? Horse's? Malthus' Summoner-M?"

Joanna is well known for piloting a Hellbringer not a Summoner. She pilots them almost exclusively in the books.

Devil's Goat Cheese... that's gross in so many levels. ;P

(cool name for a Black Metal band, though)

Natasha's Kerensky's Dire Wolf Widow Maker
Aidan Pryde Summoner or Timber Wolf
Phalen Ward's Dire Wolf Lone Wolf
Vlad Ward
Ulrich Kerensky

Those are just some off the top of my head.

a little self promotion from the Fan Creation side, since aside from Odanan and Myself ti seems few tread there.

Thanks to Joe3142 for working on this.

That makes over 1/2 dozen of my designs someone has been modeling, especially with AUSwarrior24 double project
working on my assassin

and my Vulcan

and Kiriage's work on my King Crab. (seems Australians like my stuff!)

about the only way I could be more flattered and stoked would be to have PGI ask to use one, or CGL publish something of mine.

Our fan artists for this community are simply amazing.

Sorry for the off topic interruption, but since I desperately want the Urbie, Assassin and Vulcan in game, and the KGC IS coming, it's not too off topic.

Seeing it in 3D only confirms (to me) my opinion that my Vulcan might be my best design.

Nice work! I don't go there because I am a talent-less slug when it comes to this stuff..... If I ever buy a 3D printer though, you gotta let me make that Urbie. :D

25 tons of pod space when you strip an arm. 23.5 otherwise. For 65 tons, not terrible in comparison to their 70 tonner.

It also has quite a few hardpoints, so you can fill them with that tonnage. Laserspam, Dakka+ERMLs, even some missiles if you want (3 hardpoints if you sacrifice the Jesus Box).

Head mounted laser, torso mounted Jesus Box with 3 E hardpoints. It lacks both Endo and Ferro, but that means you can put a LB20x in a ST, if you want.

It looks promising. Well, perhaps look is the wrong word, since I haven't seen any leaked screenshots yet.

I see no problem.

The Omnimechs are not currently balanced by the number of hardpoints but by the heat/critical space of the weapons (at least not best omnis, like the Direwolf, Timberwolf and Stormcrow) .The Direwolf won't be more powerful with more hardpoints - it has plenty enough...
Adding more omnipods (hero or regular) for the omnimechs will only bring more options to the table and (hopefully) help the weaker omnimechs.

Late to the party but the biggest problem would exist with the Hero Omnimech having the best Omnipod for the chassis in a location. Pretty much imagine the original S-Pods for the Timberwolf being locked behind a Paywall.

It's not a question of the best thing in the game being locked behind a paywall, it is the question of the best way of running that mech being behind a paywall. It doesn't have to be the best mech in it's class for this to be a problem and this is a problem even if it is done on weaker clan omnis.

Why? Because locking the means of bringing up weaker mech chassis to be closer to on par with the best in class mechs behind a paywall isn't okay either. "Your Thud is T5, to unlock the Quirks to improve your mech's Tier then please pay us" is pretty much a situation that would have a dramatic backlash.

There are a lot of balancing mechanics going on with Omnis from the equipment itself and their negatives to restricting critical slots with locked equipment as you mentioned. But that did not stop the S-pods on the Timberwolf from being the best Pods for the vast majority of it's builds even if you didn't want to equip jumpjets. Forcing the lock of Jump Jets in there did a lot to fix that problem but that was something that existed for a significant length of time in the game, a broken design choice that was questioned and called out on since the start (for both Lore and Balance concerns.)

Hero Omni-mechs opens up the current hurdle with Omni-pods from a balance and design perspective, that being the risk of one pod being the best pod for that location, and adding a paywall to that mix. Hero Mechs already enable this situation but I see the situation to be worse for Omni-mechs as atleast with Hero Mechs you have to take the good with the bad.

I think this should be added:

Its good, but it works like a Dragon. If your good in a Dragon, you'll be good with the Hellbringer.

4 matches in, and I love mine, I tweaked the load out a bit, but it works well.

Yeah, if it is any closer to this, it is really a let down...

But I heard it is getting a fix soon, so what I want to know is: with the CT hitboxes fixed, will the Hellbringer be a competitive Clan heavy omnimech?

Hellbringer is a dangerous mech, but its all about offense, and lots of weapons at the expense of armor, and, or heat sinks. the 2 none stock (I)nvasion mechs carry about the same armor as a Firestarter, only spread out over the chassis. so I have my doubts it can be a competitive mech. it can throw a punch, but it cant take a hit. my 2c's

The Hellbringer can pack about 23-24 tons, realistically of stuff. And ECM.
The weapon diversity is pretty good, though it can only really "boat" energy. So it tends to be a rather toasty mech. It can realistically, mount 1 medium to heavy ballistics, and good support weapons, but seems like C-ERSLasers end up on a lot of energy hardpoint simply due to heat. Sadly, my Hellhammer (Hellbringer/Warhammer hybrid) is blazing hot. Might mod it a little more.

So the real question is hitboxes. And until the CT is fixed, it's really impossible to gauge the rest on it.

IF the hitboxes are as good as the Summoner, then yes, it will still be second fiddle to the TW, but it will be a competitive mech. Mad Dog will still out missile them both, but in any other role, the Hellbringer should bring it. I could see dropdecks with 2 TW and a Hellbringer, very easily.

Um...it carries as much armor as a Jager after being modified in Mechlab...with the benefit of a Clan XL. And still packs over 23 tons in weapons, and ECM.

In non CW 12 mans, I expect to see some 3x DDC, 3x Hellbringer, 3x CDC-3M and 3x Raven-3L/ ECM Spider decks.
