Can we confirm the wait for the mysterious mech number 20 is the longest in the game's history?

I'm asking because there's only 27th and then we'e sure it's going to be a Clan mech... which would leave assaults with a hole in their roster.

Gather round tinfoilers, as I will be dropping some premium Grade-A conspiracy knowledge later...something sinister is afoot at PGI...

lemme see, if the Banshee, we'll have a 100ton Atlas, 95ton Banshee (if the Highlander shows) 90, (need and 85ton Battlemaster) 80ton Zeus, 75ton Mad-4x, 70ton Cataphract, 65ton Catapult, 60 Dragon, 55ton ton Shadow hawk, 50 ton Cent, 40ton cicacada, 35ton raven, 30ton spider, 25ton Comando. some of this is speculation, a couple mechs were omitted cause of same tonnage but I think the IS mech tonnage roster will be completed before the Clan invasion! latrz...

If the Banshee is announced, then every tonnage listing except 55-tons will be represented: At this point in the BT timeline, the Banshee is really the only viable choice for a 95-ton 'Mech for MWO.
Though, it is still possible that they could skip filling the 95-ton slot in favor of doubling up elsewhere (for example, with the Cyclops (90 tons), Victor (80 tons), or Zeus (80 tons)).

This.

But you could include the Charger and Hatamoto-Chi (both 80 tons) as candidates of next Assault mech (though not very much likely).

Possible 55 Ton Mech?
Posted Image
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Shadow_Hawk

SHD-2H - The Shadow Hawk as mentioned above carries a varied, but effective, mix of weapons. Primary among them is the Armstrong J11 Autocannon/5. This weapon as well as the Holly LRM-5 launcher provide the Shadow Hawk with good long range striking capabilities. When the Shadow Hawk closes to shorter ranges it can bring to bear its Holly SRM-2 launcher and its Martell Medium Laser which can generally finish off most 'Mechs of its own weight class or smaller that might have survived the mixed autocannon and LRM fire.

SHD-2Hb - The Royal upgrade of the Shadow Hawk changes the role of the 'Mech to a close-range brawler. The weapon systems are replaced with a LB 10-X AC, two Streak SRM-2 and two medium lasers. The heat sinks are doubles and the ammo is protected by CASE. To save weight it uses Endo-Steel chassis and Ferro-Fibrous armor.

SHD-5S - The 5S is a variant of the 5M used by the Special Forces. It replaces all standard weapons with one Large Laser, one Medium Pulse Laser and four Medium Lasers. In addition, it carries a Beagle Active Probe in the right torso, while an Guardian ECM Suite is installed in the left torso. Its left arm is also equipped with a TAG, while its head contains a cargo space. It is armored by eleven and a half tons of standard armor.

SHD-5M - The -5M Shadow Hawk is the first complete overhaul and upgrade of the design. The chassis has been upgraded with Endo Steel, the engine is an extralight version, and the weapons load has undergone an almost complete renovation. The 'Mech uses double heat sinks, carries ten and a half tons of armor with CASE, and is armed with an Ultra Autocannon/5, LRM-20 launcher, Streak SRM-2, and a Medium Laser. In addition, the jumping distance is now a full 150 meters.

So the wiki says legal disputes were resolved in 2009, does anyone know what the actual resolutions were? Can I read up on it somewhere?

Shadow hawk would be a perfect fit... but not for this game.

Generalist like him has no real meaning with all the boats running around. :)

Oh, and (yeah, the side torso weapons are switched, but otheriwise...):

The main problem is that the US has a crappy legal system. Companies bully other companies and people with the mere threat of legal action as being involved in a legal battle is very costly even you eventually win it. It also doesn't help that US courts totally ignore other countries courts. Japanese courts have actually ruled that Battletech have the right to use the Macross related models as they had a prior agreement. This doesn't prevent someone to sue MWO just to be an *** anyway.

I don't see why not perfect for MWO. It is a generalist? Yes, but we do have other generalist mechs in the game.

If there is no legal issues with the Dougram Unseen anymore, I really hope that, after the Clans, the next round of IS mechs will be of Dougram mechs (Reseen or new designs). The original designs are ugly, but part of the very soul of the Battletech (and certainly very precious for the old school).
