Our goal is to have the Clan starting lineup (4-6) `Mechs ready and completed for launch in the first two quarters of next year.

Translation: Clan mechs in the first two quarters of 2014.

Quote

So while we could focus on doubling up MOTM releases, we feel this time is going to be spent on Clan technologies.

Translation: they won't double the mechs per month. We will get only the Phoenix stuff until 18th March (with the release of the last Phoenix, Wolverine).

Speculation: Flea will come in April, 2014. Maybe, there will be an additional assault and an additional light after in May and June, before the Clans arrive. :P

So, I will be back in 8 months. The only reason I'm still in the Forums (abandoned the game some time ago) is for the Alex Iglesias magic. See ya.

I wish PGI would remove ECM from the Atlas and make the Cyclops the designated electronics assault 'Mech.

I honestly wish there was a better representation of Battletech in computerized table top format then the dismal Mechwarrior: Tactics. I know Megamek is still an option but it'd be nice to have a more complete/professional version of it with better support. That's not to say the guys behind Megamek aren't completely awesome.

Why not? They don't give a scrap about the balance between weight classes despite all their earlier gibberish about "all weight classes equal". We haven't seen a light mech released for ages, of all already released light chassis the Death Knell is forever alone Hero variety, there are only 3 medium Heros, but every damn assault chassis have a Hero variant now! They wouldn't release Banshee or Cyclops because they don't have enough manpower to release more than mech per month - not because there are too many Assaults! Assaults are expensive and meta-compliant, there can't be enough of them for PGI!

I said that there won't be unannounced mechs released this year because it would make sense for PGI to sell a brand new hero, not a hero for an old chassis.

Besides, the devs attested recently (ATD) that they won't go for 2 mechs per month release. :)

PS: why a hero Atlas instead of a hero Spider, Raven, BlackJack, Trebuchet or Quickdraw? They are probably going for the money, indeed.

The art department of MW:T is totally equivocated. They produced cute anime-like mechs, with a fresh, girly fell in the whole game interface, instead of understanding that Battletech is about decadence and "lost paradise". This is Battletech, not this. I don't know if the game is good, but I can´t play it.
Luckily, MWO has a great art (Alex Iglesias is God) at least.

Well, the problem is that they took a guy with no Battletech or even mecha drawing exprience (he's a fantasy artist, as you can see) and the results came off as they did. Not a fail of the artist, more a fail on the management end which couldn't get at least a real "mech designer", so to speak.

yup. Guy's a really talented artist, just the wrong type. Too warhammer/exaggerational in execution, probably didn't have any reference for the "feel" of Battletech.

Why they don't just hire Bishop to be the lead artist for MWT I have no idea.

While I love Bishops pictures, Alex Iglesias is the man. Everyone has their hiccups but Alex's style fits Mechwarrior and Battletech to a T.

Well, not to promote or demote myself here, but Alex heads up the art for MechWarrior: Online, not MechWarrior: Tactics. While I'm not saying I'm the guy to fix it, it does indeed need fixing, and it needs fixing by someone who "gets" battletech.

Alex is indeed the man, though I do feel he needs artists working concepts under him, to give a little more variety to the feel of his final designs.
