Something like the Catapult or Raven. Saddly, I don't think there was a lot of earlier mechs like this. I suppose I will need to wait for the Bushwacker
Mercury, Sentinel and Champion are all walker/pods but do not use chicken walker/digitigrade legs. The Mongoose and Thug (in some renders) are (faux for the Thug) digitigrade, but is a humanoid (so is more like a Faun or some Minotaur representations) Firefly, Hornet and Hoplite are all pretty non existent outside the Dragoons and Com Guards. The Crab and King Crab are amongst the only chicken walkers available in time line.
So aside from retconning some Primitives or the TRO 3058 "SLDF" designs, we are limited until at least the 3055 TRO designs start showing up.
Sorry

Because PGI fears the 6 MG Spider. Can you really see them saying "what the hell lets add a 20 ton mech with 12 CMGs, 2 CERML, and a CERSL all while letting it run at 151kph." Get a wolf pack of these suckers and it is "Game Over"

What's important to remember is that by virtue of being 20 tons, the Piranha would have the same armor capacity as the Lolcust. And I think we all know how "durable" the Lolcust is... Plus, you might have a hard time squeezing in enough MG ammo to last for a decent length of time (stock comes with just a single ton). Although it would certainly have nice damage output, provided that your enemy isn't good enough at playing the game to 1-shot you.

With 4.5 tons of extra armor, you will have a 65 tons mech running at 80+ speed, with ECM, Target Computer and 24 tons of weapons to play with (24 tons of Clan weapons is a lot). And if it looks anything like this...
Dang, I think we have a winner.

[Warhammer]
Iconic mech, but one more Macross mech poorly adapted to Battletech.
Look that SRM box size: it's ridiculous. Of that size, it would be adequate only for a huge single-shot rocket launcher. They look more like Arrow-IV missiles.
SRMs in reality have the size of RPGs and weight up to 10 kgs each (1 ton contains 100 SRMs).
PS: this is a Macross mecha, not a Battletech mech. The Warhammer is (unfortunately) this:
or even this (better):
Get used to it.

IMO, the more interesting question is, "Why have they decided that they 'won't follow the usual pattern'?" at this particular time.
Has there been some issue in setting up the Vindicator, or is there some special event (for which another chassis would be more appropriate in some manner) planned...?

Perhaps they are going in reverse still: Assault, heavy, medium, light. We did just have the Firestarter, and then the Banshee.

@DavidSykes28 @jecrego2k14 April and May is going to be a little different than usual - wont follow the usual pattern.
My guess is, we will not get any new chassis at all.
I am betting on a hero in each patch.
They had planned to release the Griffin and Wolverine there, until we pointed out that the Sabers original announced release date was February/March.
