I'm going to break down and buy the $240 package soon (ALL the mechs but no goldies for me). If I were a rich man I'd buy all the goldies too just to support the game, but not out of any real meaningful common sense...

I just want to point out that only $260 was wasted on the Gold mech. $240 of that was used, wisely I might add, on the Clan pack, which I am very happy I purchased and can't wait to use! I wouldn't buy the Gold mech even if I had the disposable cash for it, though, as it just isn't worth it ($25, sure, but $260?)

I know there were quite a few people that said they would buy multiple Gold packages for that very reason if they could then gift the Masakari packs that came with them - not sure the outcome of that, but it would have been smart for PGI to allow it.

As long as you are happy, that's all that counts. I spent $200 total on this one game (non mmorpg), so I can't be too critical. I just can't fathom the gold up-tick. The gold mechs are like ego fuel I suppose *shrug*.

Sorry, I probably phrased it wrong. I didn't buy the Gold pack, nor would I even if I had the money. I bought the complete Clan pack, though, and am very happy I did.

I worded it awkwardly. I was glad you were happy with the $240 mech purchase, and then I made another comment on the $500 gold mech. I didn't seperate those two trains of thought too well LOL. I knew you didn't buy the $500 dollar gold mech.

Someone posted this on another topic but the gold mechs might be a different variant than the Prime. Notice in these pictures that the MGs and MPL on the torso is missing. Maybe PGI removed them for more LRM ammo or maybe the hardpoints are not there.

It could be they haven't finished painting all the various weapons gold yet. Just the base chassis and then time for a photo shoot.

Anyone heard any more about new mechs? The Vindi? Seems like we've heard nothing for a while now. I really don't think that the varients they dropped count as "new" as it wouldn't have taken that much effort to push them out.

Except for the Clan mechs (8 Omnis inbound) we have Panther & Wolfhound "on the short list", kinda confirmed Mauler, and 100% Russ-confirmed Vindicator.

No information whatsoever about release dates, not even if we'll get anything new in May.

Yea we got new stuff of debatable usefulness. But we are getting 3/3/3/3 and the Launch module tomorrow.

Another bunch of variants, I think? Russ' tweet said that April/May would be different to normal months and the way he phrased it seemed to imply we'd see the same thing in both.

Maybe it'll be hero Blackjack/Quickdraw/whatever variants, but variants nonetheless. Given how little effort it probably takes to change hardpoint layouts, even for hero variants you'd only be looking at the unique camos.
