BTW, PGI just needs now to round up the numbers in 9 IS mechs for each class:

3 more light mechs (Mongoose, Javelin, UrbanMech*)
2 more heavy mechs (Lancelot, Grasshopper/Guillotine)
2 more assault mechs (Mauler, Zeus**)

*Flea can suck an egg. It's just a slower Locust.
**or Cyclops, Hatamoto, Crockett... any would be great.

The Clanbuster Pack would come later, rounding 10 mechs for each class, with Hussar, Wyvern, Black Knight*** and King Crab). Hopefully, there will be melee implemented in the game at that time (giving IS "an edge").

***adding the Champion would be just too confusing, because of the champion mechs. Imagine a Champion champion mech. Besides, Champion = Dragon.

PS: yes, I left the Vindicator out.

Javelin doesn't have enough variants, unless you fudge it a little to let the 10P in.

I don't think the Urbanmech will be as fun as people seem to think it will be. We'll see I suppose.

The Flea and the Vindicator are already in the works, so you may as well include them on your list. :)

The Cyclops would be cool to see in game, the Zeus as well.

Sounded pretty good to me... Without actually going to youtube and verifying word for word.... Is it bad I read it in his voice and imagined the openeing sequence and music at the same time?

Lol, I did too when I was writing that. That show is the reason I chose Steiner in MWO. Sad, but true.

P.S. This is also why I need the Axman in game :)

Adam Steiner traded up for an Awesome later in the show, and I could make an Awesome like his, but it isn't the same.

The Awesome isn't nearly as cool as that Black and Yellow tiger stripe Axman (with red axe).

Isn't the Javelin 10P from 3049?

Urbanmech will probably by terrible, even with very good hitboxes and quirks. But being bad is not necessarily.. bad. Some people do like a challenge.

Flea has the concept art. We don't know how far in development it went. Honestly, with the Locust out there, I think PGI should just forget about the Flea.

Vindicator was confirmed by Russ to feature in the game. He didn't said when it will show up, tough.

I was originally a Steiner because of that show, but I switched to Davion after reading Stackpole. The 4th succession war/pre-civil war years will always be my favorite.

Javelin -- meh
Urbanmech -- IT WILL LAY WASTE TO ALL WE HOLD DEAR AND MAKE OUR ENEMIES TREMBLE!
Flear -- Still want to see it, Locust needs a friend.
Vindi -- Sure!

Honestly, I think that the Flea will be DOA. I hate saying it but with the 16 (8hp) leg armor and the new fall damage mechanic, that is glitched and causing mechs moving too fast down hill to take damage, add in MASC that is supposed to hurt the mech some while in use; you will be seeing Fleas left and right killing themselves due to leg damage. Then there is the whole slower than the Locus thing. I was getting pretty good at 1-shooting with a Gauss Rifle (hit the left or right rear torso) so slower would make that even easier. Having MASC would be great. But again unless they made it like ECM you would be obsoleting other mechs when you could toss MASC in a Firestarter, get more armor/health, more firepower, similar speeds, and more tons to play with.

I loved this image.
People might complain MWO is not the game they wanted/expected, but PGI really did a terrific job with the mechs.

PS: 1000 extra points for releasing the Clan mechs with their Clan names.

unless you are a mech named Awesome. Then you LOOK cool, but otherwise fail at life.

I have 1 Battletech book. I think I got it free when I ordered the Mechwarrior 2 Strategy Guide. It is Stackpole. I think it is "The Blood of Kerensky". It looked like it had a Draconis mech running away from a Clan elemental. Maybe a Commando *shrug*. I read it a long time ago. I remember it being a good book.

Doesn't the ClanBuster pack require melee combat?

We need more crabs. Both Crab and King Crab. I mean come on, both have unique looks and the KGC would give us a powerful IS ballistic assault mech.

It was a Kurita PhoenixHawk being attacked by elementals.

The Urbanmech is amazing.

After having built and played one it was far more fun than I expected. And far more effective than I imagined it could be.
And after my friend built one as a joke, he was amazed at how fun it was, and has killed everything up to Timber Wolves, Stalkers and Atlas's with his UM-R60

As for the flea - it's basically 3+ extra Locust 1E/3M. The available variants:
FLE-4 (2501) (20T) - 4E (Large Laser, 2 Small Laser, Flamer)
FLE-15 (2523) (20T) - 5E, 2B (2 Small Laser, 2 Medium Laser, 2 Maching GUn)
FLE-17 (3049) (20T) - 5E (Flamer, 2 Med. Pulse Laser, 2 Small Laser)

FLE-14 (2519) (15T)- 1E (Medium Laser)
Now the 5E, 2B variant peaks my interest, but otherwise, it's all a bit.. samey.
Don't get me wrong, I'd buy and use it, but it just doesn't seem especially needed as it doesn't bring anything new to the table.

I would love to see the King Crab and Crab. Part of the reason that I wanted them was so that I could have a dual ballistic assault that allowed for the weapons to be in the arms. Plus after seeing Bishop's version of the King Crab modeled in 3D I fell in love with it. Been saving up and waiting so that I can have my Clan version when the Dire Wolf is released.

Wow! I've seen badly drawn Phoenix Hawks before, but _that_ is a _badly_ drawn Phoenix Hawk. Battletech novel covers have a lot to answer for. :)

Sad thing is that is not the worst BT cover I can think of...
