Based on what i have read so far, I think Mauler's coming first as the next IS assault,

Zeus would be a great addition, so is the KingCrab and many others

No, Zeus-X were tooling around as weapon/technology test-beds during the (admittedly very late) Clan Invasion as that Maximum Tech cover shows, it was only in 3119 that they actually started mass-producing it. And the Fins are just cosmetic, any additional cooling is non-stat fluff-town.

Ignoring that though, Zeus would be a very nice 'Mech to see even if 80 tons slot is (pardon the pun) a little heavy already

Actually I preddict that Zeus will be a good brawler having builds with 1B+3E+1/2M or 2B+3E+1M slots.

They are very fat, but the Zeus looks even heavier than the Battlemaster.

yet Funnily...my fave is probably the Cyclops, but I appear to be the only one who likes that particular reinterpretation, lol. (Mongoose, Lancelot and Urbie are all right up there, too, IMO, but, only Urbie gets much love, lol) and actually, for Grasshopper.....


not normally a huge proponent of Shortpainter, not because of any slight on his quality (he's way better than me) but his "vision" and style just doesn't feel "Battletechy" to me, in general. That said, his Grasshopper, Charger and Blackjack are all top notch.

a profile version for the one in my "action shot" (sometimes think the migraine red background may have been a tad TOO distracting)

Remember, it only packs 10 tons of armor, stock, HALF of what the 10 tons heavier Atlas pack, or the same as a 40 ton lighter Hunchback. So to me, making it too bulky seemed...off.
