"Hey look, another ECM medium! Enjoy the hype and attention while it lasts bro. The life of a humanoid ECM mech like an Arctic Cheetah, Griffon, Spider is only filled with butthurt after release in MW: O" - Every ECM humanoid mech from 20 to 60 tons

I don't think i've heard any butthurt about the ECM Griffin (apart from the time, you could only get it for cash)

The whine train always dies out as a mech gets old from date of release (including pre order time). Which happens on nearly all ECM mechs. Notice how no one calls the Spider, Arctic Cheetah*, Griffon, Cicada, etc OP anymore... however the first month or two it'll be bombarded with cries and plees... Same will happen to this mech, Same would happen if they add Stalker 3Fb, etc...

*Because Jenner IIC's are more common for clan lights atm people stopped complaining about ACH for now as not as many people are playing with it atm.

The ECM cries have died down because ECM in general had been reduced in effectiveness. No one really worries about ECM mechs anymore in general (or so it seems anyway). *shrug*.

I never did worry about ECM mechs, I mean ECM didn't stop lasers/PPC's/Gauss/Autocannon....

This sums up my personal line of thinking when thinking about the 'meta'

Meta -> ECM mechs are great.
Meta -> LRM mechs (even when no ECM is present) is useless.
ECM -> is not stealth, I can see you over a km away...

It gives me a headache when people say a mech in the meta is superior due to ECM but it doesn't "Do" anything in the meta itself according to the conflicting reports... More reasoning I treat Meta the same way as Politics...

So, do you think the badge that comes with Paul Master's Phoenix Hawk will be called "The Master"?

If Sir Masters was an expert at setting ambushes, would that make him a master baiter?

Really? Why would you need a laser to drive screws?

I suppose if you can train hedge hogs to drive screws that could work...they might be pretty quick about it. Until they hit something then they just lose are their screws.

So I know some of you guys probably know about this but figured would share. This guy, Tim Fusco creates large scale resin Mech kits of various mechs, most of his creations are based of MW4 designs (probably for copy right reasons) over on his blog Battlemech Club.

He has done quite a few mechs in the past few years, with tons of his own creations along with he posts images of others that end up looking fantastic!

Why am I posting this here?

Well lately I have been trying to get a idea of how the Mad Cat Mk.II (YAS I know...) would end up looking in MW-O. I was very pleased to stumble apron his rendition of the mech.

I know for the sake of MWO, I was curious how the vertical launchers would work, LRM's fine, SRM's and SSRM's eh?)
Lucky for us he did create some TRO styled launchers for one customer and they look, blocky but not to bad.

Just thought might help visualize a little more of what we could expect. I really do like that MW4 design as that was my mech of choice when I was young and didnt know alot about Mechwarrior and Battletech, would be nice see some of those redesigns for some mechs come form MW4's artwork.
Other Creations he has done among a quite extensive list are the

MWO Atlas.

I like this recent version by Anthony Scroggins (Shimmering Sword):
Posted Image
It doesn't have that ugly boxy connection of the missile launchers with the torsos. (otherwise, the design you showed looks great)

PS: the MW4's Flea is so cute! I wish Alex Iglesias revise his MWO Flea for something like that (to make it more different of the Locust).

Is that a mix of the Madcat Mk.IV and Mk.II? Or just a Mk.IV? Either way I do really like that, and was thinking something like that for above the cockpit area. Instead of the flat SHOOT ME HERE slab. Or give the front slab a nice angled face.

Hmmm... maybe it is the MK.IV...

EDIT: nope, my bad, it is DEFINITELY the MK.IV. (PPCs are arm weapons)

Anyway when adding the MK.II in MWO, Alex can take some lessons from this or his own MK.IV:

From that angle it does look very good still, nothing saying inspiration couldnt come from others lol. As for the Boxy-ness Alex did have this to say on it.

Kind of like what you said with the missile hump, back torso being to boxy and bulky could use some streamlining and smoothing out.

Eh, my concern is we get one doing it justice. Would be nice to see some updated images of it, but I am not demanding it as the next mech you know?
