My mistake on the heavy Lasers then.

Your right on the weight of the iHGR, but why take an AC/20 on an Atlas, when you could take an iHGR and deal more damage out to nearly Gauss Rifle range?

Crap ammo per ton? Do they explode on crit? Very long reload? They could balance it out I am sure.

If you think corner warrior online is bad now, just wait till you have something that does 50% more damage than a Gauss Rifle, and it is IS only....

As for the Shots/ton, in TT she gets 4 while the AC/20 gets 5 and the Gauss Rifle gets 8... in MWO the AC/20 gets 7 while the Gauss gets 10, so I don't think it would be unreasonable to think in MWO the iHGR would get around 6 shots/ton... As for exploding, they are a Gauss Rifle, so yes, yes they do for 22 damage.

I'll tell you why it won't be as bad a problem as you think.

The Cyclops already exists, and it can mount 7xSRM6+A and a SRM4+A, very devastating, but that firepower is absolutely needed for an assault mech.

Guess what else mech can put out that much alpha strike with the cooling? A 4SRM6+A 5/6 SPL TBR. No really.

Dakka wise, the Kraken will not offer anything extraordinary. 5UAC5 or 6UAC5? Dire can do it. Less gun with far better mounts? Kodiak.

UAC2s are not efficient at all, 3UAC5 2UAC10 Dire will crap all over a Kraken, unless you went with a really, really small engine and mounted some mix of UAC5/UAC10 and UAC2s to get over the ghost heat.

Plus, dakka Kraken with Endo (and not so big engine) will probably just be able to mount 8 UAC2 or so with enough ammo and heatsinks. Remember that the stock comes with as much podspace as the Dire, and mounts 10UAC2 with just 4 tons of ammunition and just 10 DHS. Class 2 Autocannons are VERY hot.
You'd need 20 heatsinks before you start to get close to the sustained DPS of the other Clan 100 tonners with 8 UAC2.

Except the Bane has high mounted weapons, it's a battlemech & it doesn't have the Dwolf's "hood" so it'd obsolete the Dwolf straight up.

Clan srms also have better range and as Jud. noted it uses a Clan XL. Don't underestimate the power of screen shake, ×10 uac2 would be devastating. Or could you imagine ×9 Lrm10? The Bane would be about as good as the Kodiak, probably just barely in 2nd place because it's not as fast.

Spot-check:

ClanTech SRMs have the same range, and currently have a wider spread.

It's ClanTech Streaks that have the better range.

Fair enough, the point still stands. The Bane is easily better than the Dwolf except for energy weapons.

There is literally no reason to trade LRM-15s for SSRM-6s on the Kraken. You're accepting reduced damage output and significantly reduced maximum range.Trading 8 LRM-15s for 9 LRM-10s is even worse. Do people even do math, anymore?

Damage isn't everything, LRM 10's are more effeicent in damage grouping than 15's in MWO, they also have a shorter cool down time, 5.5 seconds on the cLRM15 and 4.5 seconds on the cLRM 10, that means that in the time it takes the cLRM 15 to be able to shoot again, the cLRM 10 has already fired two salvos, putting a total of 20 missiles in the air for the vs the 15 from the cLRM15.

LRM's really shine as suppression weapons in MWO, this is due to how they do damage all over a target , great for your end round match score, bad for actually killing something outside of T5/4....

Yea, I mean trust me it would be nice to see that. But 1. That's years of mechs. 2. Several would probably be hard to sell. There are some gems left yea, but that is where we got to sorta through them all. This game is in need of something fresh. Either new tech, new game mode that'd totally different from CW and QP. Or PVE (single and co-op).

It's nice you got a big list though haha, from my angle my desired mech list is tiny (Mad Cat Mk II, Nova Cat, Templar, Fire Moth) As you can see....mine might be awhile before I get any haha. So you probably will get a few on that list for sure haha.

The efficiency argument goes out the window with a 120 point alpha. Also, what are the lights doing in the upper tiers if not calling targets that are out in the open? Seems like another example of tier not indicating skill to me.

How very true about tier =/= skill.

Thing is those, a lot of the time, the longer someone has been playing the better they are about knowing how to counter LRM's. That being said, I'd rather take a 90 point 'alpha' that puts most of the rounds in ST/CT/ST, than a 120 point 'alphja' that puts it in the arms, ST's and CT. I'm also one of those pilots that were using PPFLD when the meta was DoT, because I understood that PPFLD was a quicker efficient killer.

I guess I'm just one of those players that will take a mission kill. I don't care what my personal match score is, how much damage I do, or how many kills I get so long as my team wins.

I completly understand, when I pull out my Warhammer, I make it my goal to make the Red Team regret stumbling accross me, as I try to kill or cripple at least 6 of their mechs before I go down, I usually kill 4 on my own, and destroy or cripple two others...

You also need to take ammo into account and because clan lrms are stream fire they spread worse than IS lrms.

As for lrms vrs streaks, you do know clan lrms have reduced DMG at close range right? Also streak boats are powerful, alpha dmg isn't everything. 9 streaks could one shot any light and most mediums if aimed decently.

So I was thinking for the Mk II special skin...What camo was popular in MW4 that is not possible to replicate in this game? I know they had a ton to choose from. Just be kind of a cool way to keep the MW4 root feel and give something alot of people would recognize.

Hero is still up in the air.. I think that Diamond Shark SaKahn I believe would be a good option still.

They had that one camo that looked like German tank specs. The olive with the red and brown speckles?

Might be Panzer or something. I remember what you are talking about. That could be a cool pattern to go with.

Townhall today:

- There will be a light mech after the next mech.
- The mech announced in the MechCon will have "something never done before".

(I think it's pretty much that - too sleepy to be sure)

Qua-qua-qua-quaaadrakill.

Four legs and sidestrafing is absolutely new to the game.
