No issues with that, I just want the people that want them, to be aware of any possible short comings of those chassis that are present in TT, as MWO operates closer to TT rules than MW/4 did. While at the same time, having them keep in mind of the realities of MWO's game play, that will hurt mechs like the Annihilator and Uziel due to their geometry.

The problem is the quite many people play this game for nostalgia. We all know Bushwhcker was going to be terrible, but still quite a lot of people bought it regardless.

I started my Battletech universe via first Mech Commander. I am still waiting for Hollander II, Stiletto, Nova Cat and Turkina. I am glad PGI decided to put Cougar, which was the one of the two very last missing mechs from non gold version of Mech Commander. I am very likely to buy Cougar mechpack at least.

I ran the word "Terrible" through Google Translate, MWOese to English. What it spit out was "not tier 1 godfist good."

sounds sadly right... but don't say that to our overlords...it's being "condescending".

Has room for CASE. and is 25 PPFLD, for.....2 heat? Pretty sure we don't want them multiplying like rabbits. Also the range reduction is pretty minimal.

You cannot be serious.

If they keep the TT stats it will only be 25PPFLD out to 180m (!) before the damage starts to drop. And you are going to be slow, because heavy Gauss prevents you from taking XL or light engines.

So you're going to look at a long time where mechs with regular Gauss rifle will outdamage your HG. Especially since their faster engines will help them dictate the distance.Oh, and they will also have more secondary weapons.

So you're looking at a mech that is going to be relatively slow and limited to short ranges for its full potential.

edit: fixed HG range

Heavy Gauss in TT does 25 damage at 0-6 hex range (0-180 meters), 20 damage at 7-13 hex range (210-390 meters) and 10 damage at 14-20 hex range (420-600 meters).

If PGI have the HGR in MWO doing 25 damage out to only 180 meters, then dropping down to 10 damage at 600 meters, then they'd give it an effective range of 180 meters with a maximum range of 880 meters.
That means it would have already dropped to 15 damage by 460 meters, 200 meters shorter than the regular Gauss effective range.

As before, the Clan heroes have strange choices for pilots and paintjobs of dubious taste, but most of them have at least 1 good omnipod that helps to balance or bring something new to the chassis.

So is anyone else excited for the possibility of the Legacy battlemech being introduced into MWO? I noticed that the timeline update does include the year where the Legacy was introduced to IS. That thing looks awesome and I would happily throw down some cash to get it early if it ever came out.

Anyone else a Legacy fan? The high UAC-10 mounts in the stock art look like it would be great for hill peaking.

I will be honest with you: until now, I never heard about this mech.

About it being in MWO, it won't happen until the introduction of C3 Computer, so... maybe never?

Executioner is a Ghost Bear hero actually!

"Star Commander Gorman Bekker: In service to the Golden Keshik for a stunning twenty-two years, Bekker accounted for eighteen Trial victories against fourteen Clans, all over the Gladiator or its production site. Bekker died from a massive brain aneurysm in the middle of his nineteenth Trial against the Smoke Jaguars. Refusing to recognize that a natural malady would claim such a fierce warrior, the Jaguars honored Bekker’s legacy by including a small statue of him at their genetic repository, an unheard of recognition."
Mistype, thought it was a weird thing to see Bekker as a Wolf hero lol

At least one of the Nova Cat heros makes sense. Lucian Carns died in operation bulldog, piloting a Shadow Cat, when fighting for the SLDF. That said, my concern is that they failed to discriminate "giving options" from "superior options."

For example, look at the IFR. The hero CAN take an ECM side torso... but doing so sacrifices a significant portion of its potential. Meanwhile, the SHC left torso with ECM has no real competition of choice. Why not give it a 2M, 1M1E, 2E, whatever left torso to give serious consideration between ECM or firepower?

Instead, now I get my cake and eat it too. 4x ASRM6 and 2 Flamers, or 2 Microlasers, an extra half a ton of ammo, AND ECM. Well then....

It never hurts to learn about something new. Especially in a thread with the label "ultimate" you should embrace and enjoy the diversity of BattleTech rather than talking about the same Mechs again and again.
I am not a fan of the Legacy myself and I would not advocate its introduction but there is nothing wrong with bringing it up.

If that's true, Thanatos fans (and there seem to be a lot of them here) will be very, very unhappy. Every single Thanatos variant sports C3.

How would C3s work in the game anyhow. The C3-Master act like a Command Console and a tag? C3-Slave acts as a reduced size CC, but requires a C3-M in the lance to work? C3i is just better than all of those but only 2.5 tons and lacks the tag?

Indeed. Updated the OP (scratching the Thanatos as potential release for now).

Of course, PGI could implement the C3 Network. But how it would work? The "data sharing" thing already exists in MWO and wouldn't the need of a C3 Master and C3 Slaves be too convoluted for this game?
