I dunno went up against 3 groups of Jade Falcon tonight, didn't seem to have too many issues.

You meant Falcon PUGs, right. ;)

And my PUG team will get vengeance someday , and it will be soon. SRoT - Check. 228 - Check. You're next. :P

This needs a lot more emphasis. It's why the TDR-9S is the go-to option for IS. The clans are not necessarily OP, but clans defending on the snow map plays entirely to their strengths.

I'd be interested to see how many of the "clans are OP" posts come directly from having to attack against them on that map.

you can litterally count the number of people crying about clans on your hands...

The simple solution is 12 IS mechs vs 10 clan mechs and 2 elemental suits with personal ecm... :D Just kidding though...

You know I have the perfect answer to all of this "clans are OP" stuff, set Clantech to what it should be and watch as your IS ECM and AMS mean alot less against Clan LRMs than they do now, oh and watch that Nova-Prime do an Alpha strike before coming close to absolute forced over-heat shutdown, and even when it starts to shutdown overriding it when it is highly over the limit shouldn't destroy it since there is no ammo, affect accuracy and movement yes but destruction no. Then lets talk about StreakSRMs which are supposed to hit target no matter what once locked on, not hit anything intervening.

Mind you all of this tech that I am talking about is based on the original rules for the tabletop game, the very same rules that spilled over to the Paper & Pencil RPG and as far as I can remember every iteration of Mechwarrior video games prior to this one.

As I said in a post elsewhere I don't exactly want them to make these re-balances to this game as much as I would love it. I however want everyone that is whinning about how "OP" clantech is to understand that it really isn't as OP as it should be, especially considering I have seen an IS Light survive 4 Clan ERPPCs to the face, something that should have killed it.

The best way to balance this would have been to have it be 14 IS to 10 Clan, or something along those lines. But that's only in the event that Clan tech was superior. Frankly IS tech is NOT inferior to Clan tech in this game, so it's a moot point.

You know you don't have to engage clan mechs at optimal C-ERML range right?

People are complaining about Boreal Vault because they push blindly and thoughtlessly into the meat grinder against entrenched clan mechs all pointing their weapons at them.

Why don't you try trading with them at longer range where their C-ERML can't hurt you?

TDR-5SS - ERLL 911m
TDR-9S - ERPPC 890m
BLR/STK - ERLL 827m
JM6-S - Gauss 792m

It's not like the Inner Sphere has a shortage of long range options...

Clans have C-ERLL, C-ERPPC, C-Gauss for long range. There are few builds that can actually boat these weapons effectively and most TBR/SCR nowadays don't bring more than 2 C-ERLL.

Nonsense thread. Everything is perfectly balanced, it's just that clanners have mostly skilled players while IS are mostly noobs. So keep it like this and watch the clanners conquer all the map because they are stronger players and deserve to win and have all the glory.

I won't boycott CW but since I finished the stocking event there is no reason for me to drop there.

- More Cbills/hour in pug drops
- Faster games, less wait times
- Level of frustration much lower (30 minutes waiting for a game, then 20 minutes of stomping)

I love the idea of CW but it has to be improved a lot to make any sense.

There is a lot wrong with the game , but OP Clans is not one of them ... it's more OP IS if anything! Taking teams and players out the equation , the Is get a lot of very good builds , Clans have limited options due to limited choice (admittedly it is hard to build a bad clan mech due to slot limitations , but Heat is a real problem anyway for most clan mechs and needs to be managed a lot more than IS).

No doubt if the better players were all playing for the IS we would not see all this nonsense , indeed probably a lot more IS are OP threads! (which they certainly have the advantage right now and it is worrying what quirks the Resistance collection will have ?).

Funny how OP starts the thread with "to follow true lore" and yet he is perfectly fine with fully customizable XL-endo quirked IS mechs. Pathetic.

I'm up for this. But give us lore clan mechs instead of nerfed versions, bring back the Timberwolf where it was before and buff the clan mechs that need the buff.

I agree, but only if physical combat, hatchets, limbs, and DFA attacks are available to the IS mechs. That is the one key thing missing from MWO : A battletech game.

At the moment it's MWO : A game sorta, kinda based on battletech.

Solution: put your money where your mouth is and play IS.

That's what I thought.

This is pretty funny. Whats your reason for that? The larger paywall?
Some of the best scoring Units are IS. Many of the best scoring players are IS, I don't think IS is "mostly noobs"

Nah. They just prove it daily by handicapping themselves with the worst mechs in the game. Take a look at the timelapse CW. They are losing so badly.

Always wondered why the "ultra-elite-I'm-the-best-player-ever" types never just play stock loadouts. Maybe, just a little bit not-so-ultra-elite-I'm-the-best-player-ever?

It's that clan mechs can be used only by skilled players, because it takes lot of skill. Noobs are scared of clan mechs and even if they try to buy one they just keep going hot, shut down and die because it takes lot of skill to manage heat. So less skilled players keep using more noob friendly IS mechs and skilled players use Clan mechs. But they are perfectly balanced.

If 6 guys in IS trial mechs can successfully attack and defend on CW against clanners, not sure what the issue is. Hell, and almost beat a pretty decent 10 man. IS seems a little more fun TBH, and have ran pure clans till last 2 days.

So your solution is to tell the IS to take hotter and heavier weapons (slowing them down even more and certainly not brawling weapons) in order to attempt to overcome faster mechs with more lighter weapons? Riiiiiggghhhttt........

To follow true lore, the clan should be reduce either in weight drop (less than 240, or augment the IS mechs to 300) or it could be a Drop CW in numbers like 10 clan mech versus 12 IS mechs.

I have been playing CW for weeks now and we can see these battles against the clan mech are not balanced! They are faster, stronger, sturdier and better that any IS mech or group combined and rigthfully so!

But in Battletech (Mechwarrior) lore the clans have ways to respect. Like the Star system of drops, the chalenges, the bids, etc... They were ultimatly vanquished bit their code of honor and disipline and more. Here in this game the players (for most of them) have none of that to follow making this an uneven fight...

So until this is changed, I vote IS side boycotts CW altogether!
For myself I will no longer play CW until this is done proper!

Park.

Ah great! One less idiot taking up our digital space!

It takes more skill to operate clan mechs because it is harder to manage heat? What a load of **** !! The heat mechanic is exactly the same for IS and clan mechs, and heat management comes down to having a good build and watching your heat meter carefully no matter what mech you pilot.
