Ummm…Ok. I am really not sure how a Hunchback with single heat sinks, no Endo/FF, or XL engines can compete with a Timberwolf. I've done some 'stock matches' against Clans and even then the Clanners had to spot us a significant tonnage advantage to make things fair….

I don't wanna call BS on this, but BS.

He could be really terrible at piloting the mad cat.

Too funny to pass up "30 PP-FLD for 21.5 heat, (well, 20 then 10..." LOL, I don't think you quite comprehend what "PP-FLD" is, that delay between the 20 and the 10 kinda makes it not PP-FLD...

Almost as funny as using a broken FS9 to prove that another mech isn't broken...oh wait....

I'm sorry would you prefer 20 PP-FLD for 15 het followed almost immediately by 10 more?

Which is the point of spam?

Learn to aim, not an issue.

its all that pin point damage that can be done on the IS mechs. id love to be able to put IS ML and even SRMs on my timber wolf-s even if im only able to put 2 SRM4s on it. Range means nothing if the damage cant be concentrated on one spot to remove an ST, leg or core a mech on your 1st alpha.

Or maybe not, if shooter has some skills :o

But then you basically remove the whole notion of precision point damage. Given high enough skills, any weapon will have such an effect.

But that's exactly the reason why certain weapons are better than others, because you can achieve such an effect much more easily.

eh....it's about holding that aim. IS indeed wins at pinpoint FLD, but seriously, the TW, skill on skill eats a quirked HBK (my favorite ride atm) let alone a "stock" one that has nowhere near enough ammo or heat cap.

1. Hunchback 4SPs have no pin point damage.
2. If you know how to aim then range is EVERYTHING.
3. Even if you regularly beat Timberwolves in a completely unupgraded Hunchback, that is hardly a common occurrence. Otherwise this thread would be about how the meta of stock Hunchbacks is totally OP.

yes, use possibly the most broken mech in the game as an example... look my FS9 that magically ignore 79% of incoming damage, and has stupidly ridiculous quirks of it's own can beat a mech................

When you have to use a known broken to beat a broken...it's just time to stop right there.
The mech dies as often as they want it to. If it didnt ignore 79% of the damage it would die so fast no one would use it. They would come back and buff it back until it died as often as it did before. I still find it funny the "most broken" mech in the game is only used for deck filler and death rushes.

that would be clan er ppc..... which are not currently firing for nearly no heat.

And IDK what Blasty is talking about, my hit registration with PPCs and ER PPCs are fine. As long as I actually hit.

My hit detection is and has been terrible with them for several months. They either do no damage, go through the enemy or sometimes register. It is the same on my receiving end. I laugh them off most of the time.

hmmm...gonna have to find you and poke you with them..... unless you have ping shield or something, lol.

Dunno, been mostly fine for me, though have certainly had plenty of instances where nothing registered right.

If you are actually downgrading the engine from a stock hunchback, then the idea that it could somehow defeat a mad cat is laughable.

When you are going that slow, the mad cat is gonna be able to dump so much damage on you so easily that you will vaporize.

The only reason you are surviving in those mechs is because the enemy is laughing so hard, and ignoring you in favor of bigger threats.
