I know but to many people are stuck in the several pages reading in space with no reference to earth.

The Urbanmech should be slower then your average light. By a good margin. It's part of what sets it apart. But I do think the max armor should be higher then a light of the same weight to offset it.

It should max out at 60 kph but have epic quirks.

I suggest 50% cooldown on ac 10 and super fast torso twist.

If a 30 ton mech is going at Dire Wolf speeds, it's gonna need a bare minimum of +100-200% to every single stat it has to be anywhere near even Tier 5.

ITS AN URBANMECH

It's a joke mech that you guys want for kitch value. Expecting it to be good is really really super fail and against the whole point of the thing.

This is the mech you take mostly in private 12 vs 12 games for laughs and thats it.

I mean srsly, trying to make the thing into a normal mech defeats the purpose.

It's like a sexy clown. WTF is the point?

It would be nice to see it occasionally used after 1-2 months past release, rather than go the way of the dodo like pre-quirk Trebuchets and Awesomes and Commandos...

100 max engine or no buy. Yes, I am gonna declare it now that I am willing to break my promise of not spending money if PGI releases it with 100 max engine rating. There is no challenge otherwise.

I suppose 150 rating is more acceptable to others, but I am not gonna buy it like that.

Are you sure that you would enjoy being outran by Atlases while having less firepower than a Lolcust and less durability than a Commando?

There are two ways you can make a mech challenging:

1. Face skilled opponents.

2. Intentionally use a gimp loadout.

We don't need to make the mech as a whole useless just because some people derive pleasure from punishment. If you want that, you can simply build the mech the way you want it regardless of what the max engine cap is.

I'm not buying it if it goes more than 100 kph.

YES. Just getting a kill in that thing will be enough to overcome all the handicaps I experience. The sheer humiliation I deliver to my enemies will sustain me. Not to mention the videos I can make when piloting it.

Otherwise, it is not an Urbanmech. At least, not the one I am willing to spend real money on.

You can equip a 100 if you want to, even if the engine cap was above that number (i.e. 180+). And you can also run with only 1-2 tons of armor for extra "bragging rights." Maybe even drop with just 1 Small Laser and 1 Machine Gun.

You always have the choice to run derp loadouts if you want to, just like you can with any existing mech. Having the ability to create a semi-viable loadout doesn't mean you're forced to take advantage of that capability.

See, you get to play the way you want to, and other people might get it to be somewhere around Tier 3 ish to be "pug viable." Everybody wins.

You sir, have no taste. It is much more epic and readily recognizable to win in a mech that is really really bad no matter how much you tweak, than intentionally gimping a mech that is not too bad otherwise. <_<

I don't want to yell in all chat "I AM INTENTIONALLY USING GIMPED MECH" all the time, when instead everyone can immediately tell that I am playing the worst mech possible.

Long story short : Piloting SDR-5V and succeeding > Piloting gimped Firestarter with just 2 medium lasers and succeeding.

I will only enjoy driving it if it sucks no matter what you do to it.

I will do my best to make it suck less, and enjoy knowing that it still sucks.

If you want a good mech, there are 90 others...

The outcome is the same on your end, the difference is that you're making every pilot of the mech also share the same outcome instead of letting them "choose their destiny" so to say.

Sort of like how people who want to feel like the IS is being crushed by the Clans like lore, can simply choose to use really bad loadouts that can't possibly stand up to them. So they get to have their way, while the rest of the game at least somewhat attempts to balance them. ^_^
