Well wouldn't it be easier if you are last man standing are are going to "ambush" by powering down typing in chat while you are powering down "Hey team ima try to ambush them so don't let anyone know my position because i am trying to fight with a chance at least" at least then if someone does give your position away you can see who the real douche is :P and you wont be liable because you said something. honestly that is better than trying to mind read whos being a time waster and whos really trying to use tactics.

Mind-reading not required. The way MWO works, the only way to have your time wasted is if you waste it yourself. If you do not wish to wait for the match to end, you can drop in other 'mechs. Even if you own no other 'mechs, you can do a quick match in a Trial until your own 'mech is ready for use.

And besides, the advice you give (informing your teammates) won't work half the time or more. The same mentality that leads someone to divulge a teammate's position out of impatience, is going to be impatient regardless of what that teammate does or says. On top of that, it doesn't really matter whether the (still playing) teammate is doing something the rest of his teammates agree with, and he should not feel any obligation to gain their approval, because they're not playing his game, he is.

Has any of these pathetic noobs stated why they don't just play Conquest where people are less likely to report their position?

Well it isn't about gaining approval because the player doing it is still obviously going to do it. but communication is key even if it falls on deaf ears. the lack of communication is what results in all these things in the first place. even then regardless of the outcome of being outed you. since you have the "its against tos and" no it isnt" debates. least your ass is covered in case anything happens. like they say "people only look out for number 1" since obviously number 1 is trying to stay alive one way or another.

" Well wouldn't it be easier if you are last man standing are are going to "ambush" by powering down typing in chat while you are powering down "Hey team ima try to ambush them so - "

No.

I play throttle and mouse. The keyboard is up near the monitor. I've got 4 mechs chasing me, I'm catching my breath, checking my crits (remember to keep that torso turned away), trying to remember if their Crab was the same one I spotted earlier (the one with orange legs?), checking my map for a plan B escape route, trying to strategize how I should take on 4 mechs at once, and looking left/right for their lights... all at 150mph

Oh also, as a further distraction, I have some jackass in chat declaring the match over and threatening to give out my location to "move things along"

So I'm already dealing with a lot of things just trying to stay alive and fight. And you want me to stop all that by reaching over to the keyboard to ask you to approve my plan? Or you'll commit treason?

Not happening.

There is one reason Mechs are locked: suicide farming on 1 Mech.

That was way back in beta when you got the same amount of reward when you won or lost.

I not much on waiting around and I don't want to switch mechs.

Great thing about free to play games, easy to bounce around between them.

Have just come out of a public match where it 11 to 2 with 5 minutes to go, and folks were very happily reporting the remaining enemy unit for cheating because he hadn't presented himself to their presence for immediate execution (as apparently was his duty). This isn't the first time I've seen it, and I'm quite sure it isn't the last, but it continues to boil my blood.

Sorry, I will report those sorry saps of bizantches who decide it is fun to make 2 teams wait for the match to end .

like one idiot whose team got destroyed within 7 minutes , he was in a spider and ran to a place on manifold where he could not be targeted or shot leaving those of us with 8 minutes of waiting for match to end .

so yeah he got reported.

i dont care how much honor, tactics, strategy, or other bs you try to bring to this discussion . those people who hide and do nothing with their mechs when they are the last one standing need to be punished.

its poor sportsmanship it is a form of greifing and should not be tolerated.

with that out the way , those who try and get a kill a or 2 before being overun / or turning the tables have my respect.

its those who hide for 5 to 10 minutes not doing anything are the ones who i have a problem.

lol, I love how people here think sharing their opinion somehow makes it valid. I know PGI won't say it, they're worried about the backlash or loss of potential sales, but I'll say it for them;

THEY DON'T CARE.

At all. Not even slightly. FYI, they're busy designing a whole game for you to play, keeping everyone engaged and paying up so they can go home and feed themselves and their families. Despite this, you think they're going to take you seriously when you report someone for not playing the game how you want them to? Or for reporting someone for handing out info on team mate's locations?

In case you haven't noticed, they barely care about reports of hacking, using third party cheating programs or deliberate teamkilling and you think they'll care about something as petty as this?

There's Sum Ting Wong with you. All of you. Keep crying though, your salty tears of rage and sadness sustain me, as always. :3

If it's a light being a troll, then **** that guy. Otherwise, play on and get some more damage to pad those stats...

What I like is when the last man standing is ratted out, killed, and then has more damage than the player crying cause the guy still alive "isn't playing the game".

I like to play mind games with the enemy. My favorite is giving false coords that lead them away from the last players actual position, to try and give them breathing room and a tactical advantage.

I have seen this and applauded the effort. At least at my end of the computer. ;)

I only do this when the numb nuts powers down in a corner in anything but conquest. He could be getting those last few damage points in for rewards instead of wasting all of our time. Discos always get reported in this fashion for the obvious reasons.
