Storyteller: We are still allied with Marik, the marik units pushing into our territory are not house units, but rather mercenaries doing their own thing (Primarily MS). Marik has done nothing to break our alliance, and we're still working together.

I know this, but from my experience with Steiner, Davion and the FRR, even regular Marik warriors will be engaged when we try to take back the Military District of Dieron. I will not attack original Marik planets, but at least we will try to take back what was ours.

You'll be happy to know that organized Marik units have agreed and are staying off the front. The mercs are there almost constantly and pugs are, well, pugs.

Be interesting to see the repercussions of this decision and how it all pans out. I can see both sides of the argument, but mainly hope that Marik's 'disappointment' in the DCMS decision will not affect our friendly standing. With co-ordinated nSL fronts on Steiner and Rasalhague there's no reason that the DC cannot still be a useful ally for applying pressure and defense without being a league member. Good luck to the nSL - mainly for Marik's benefit - and we'll see what happens.

As for the mercs - half of you claim DCMS is fractured and wasting you to only stomp Davions, the other half says we're great to play with and happy to help. I know that every drop I've been on last weekend was against clans with 36th and 11th and some with NKVA also, as well as a few with my unit (NS). Wat do?

I think the sticking point is less your refusal of the League and more the fact that you're attacking a member state.

A member state of what? You've got several relatively important Marik players talking openly about not participating in the Star League after all, and even if they do, they're probably not going to want to go to war with the other strong inner sphere factions, who they have a pre-existing alliance with, in order to protect a faction of untrustworthy scrubs who contribute very little to a common cause. Sorry Valar, but the end of "noble" House Davion is in sight.

Valar you're the only one I have seen who actually cares that kurita is attacking Davion. Other than the Davions, I mean.

Okay, I'm quite new to CW after a long MWO hiatus. I have some questions for the Kurita leadership (?) as well as for others. Can someone please explain to me:

1. What is this new Star League, what would "joining it" mean and why is it a bad thing Kurita doesn't?

2. Why is Kurita being given flak for fighting Davion when Marik has taken many worlds from Davion and Steiner, and has taken a chunk from Kurita territory as well?

3. OTOH, should Kurita not rather close the Marik wormhole and ease up on Davion? Was the idea that it would somehow be possible to establish a "moving island" so that Marik could eventually start attacking Clan worlds based on anything other than a glitch and wishful thinking?

4. Why cannot players from other IS houses just help against the clans by defending worlds and if they do so, why would Kurita not invite them to TS?

1. The star league was ideally meant to be a ceasefire that covered every organized loyalist unit of the IC and prevented us from fighting each other. In practice I believe that it would have been nothing but an excuse to whine and a tattletale network for the wuss factions, but I should mention that I've been told repeatedly by people in the wuss factions that i'm wrong. Also that I don't represent the Combine.

2. We're taking flak for fighting Davion because they really don't like losing planets, and Valar12 has a soft spot for the faction he betrayed. I wouldn't care, we're the evilest faction outside Jade Falcon after all, and if they don't like us taking their planets they can defend them better (or stop defending them at all, which will probably slow us down more HA HA HA)

3. The Marik wormhole is a cool idea and I'd love to see them reach the clans. I think a lot of people in Kurita agree so the reaction has been to contain pubbie and merc outgrowths but let them reach for the northern border in peace.

4. We can, we might do that in the future, who knows? generally I don't see non-kurita defenses on our TS but we're a pretty offensively minded faction. I doubt anything will change with this. A big part of this star league was a misguided attempt to harness treacherous merc dogs (no offense to the cool merc groups like Cameron's Highlanders).

Seems like it would be a simple answer for the Star League then, no? Defend against the Dracs and don't defend any of their planets from the clan invasion. Theres plenty to focus numbers on with the other factions ;)

Shimmering, or any other merc, please send a rep to the HK TS if you want to know our target priorities for the day. We will gladly let you know where we are sending our House units and where we would like our allied mercs to strike. Depending on population, we may have different targets for the two, to maximize our coverage.

When has Kurita ever asked anyone for help against the clans? Davions dropping on our clan front is making us bleed planets even faster than ghost caps. I'd 100% rather have just turrets fighting against clan units than Davion groups. At least ghost drops have a chance to bore the clanners to death rather than freely farming Davion noobs nonstop for huge C-Bill gains

Playing devil's advocate, you're *still* going to have pugs dropping on the Clan border, because you haven't the ability to prevent it. Your choice does not prevent it.

What it does is prevent nSL organized units from adding themselves to the mix.

Doesn't matter to me one way or another, but generally speaking it's usually a pretty keen thing to have buddies at your back. It would have been interesting to see if the self organized IS could have pushed back the (mostly united) Clans.

But, whatever's clever.

Hail,

S! to Nights Scorn / 9th and the other Draconis units we have fought. To date these have been the best battles that we have had the pleasure to fight. Polite and down to the last Mech standing.

Anytime any other faction, uses the game engine as an excuse to start taking planets it is a problem. When you hear "we are just opening a lane", it means we are taking your planets that you may not be able to get back again.

The Smoke Alliance has just lived through this in our space and it really messed things up and was a total failure.

"Trust Me" is a four letter word.

Cool story bro. Don't be mad when you are the one that called out HK for having no skill and then you lose a massive majority of matches to us. Talk is cheap dude, when you can actually beat us AT ALL you have a leg to stand on.

Out of the remaining Davion units 22AL puts up the best fight and will continue to queue up even when losing. I've got plenty of respect for them and they are improving quickly. I've got absolutely no respect for people who talk smack about "no skill" when they give up after getting stomped.

Ya I went to sleep after my late night posts so I missed a lot in between.

Sir you are taking my posts the wrong way. In my streams, and to my drop group members, and in other places on these forums, I have always said the various Karita units we have gone up against have been extremely skilled. They way you have rolled my drop groups shows that. I personally have never once claimed to be anything more then a mediocre player.

In my original post I was comparing you and a couple other Kurita units to the average school yard bully. One who could possibly roll anybody he chooses but consistently picks on the smallest kid out there. The way the clans have pushed into your territory over the past several weeks, combined with Kurita's push on Davion suggest that you have given up on fighting the big kids and have gone to the little kids.

You said so yourself in your post, 22Al is the only Davion unit giving you a decent fight and not giving up. Yet you keep on hitting the Davion planets knowing you most likely won't get what you consider to be a decent fight. Hmmmm.

And my Blah blah's were because I have heard it all before and I just wanted to troll the bully's, some of you Kurita guys are so uptight and make it to easy.

If I can ever get a solid 12 man together and AFFS doesn't want us hitting something else, we will be back to the Kurita planets. No doubt. I really don't mind loosing to a highly skilled unit. You can learn something from each loss. But when a skilled unit (like NKVA) is always trash talking like the Lords (ggclose, stupid clanners etc,,), it naturally steers us away, because nobody likes loosing to jerks like that.

For me as Kurita Warrior for almost 23 years now, the path of honor is very important for me. Of course, winning most of the matches can and will make some people become arrogant. But for members of my unit, its strictly forbidden to write a "ggclose" or the like when its been a decisive win for our team. What your group says on teamspeak, is one thing, but offending your opponent after the battle is won, is another. If any member of my chapter disobeyed this rule, please let me know.

For me it's always a pleasure to fight at the Davion front. Not only because of our recent victories, but because I prefer to fight our old archenemy.

You're talking to the mercs with me, none of that observed in our stable yet. We discus where the fun is, and which factions are deserving and appreciative of help, and get to it. We thought that Kurita was interested in holding their borders, instead we found a divided council that took our help and turned it into a vacation to stomp on an underpopulated Davion. Kurita wasted our efforts. I hope those Kurita units who liked the Star League idea don't suffer too badly, Davion wont be weak forever.

Ironically a Merc unit, that has pretty much been with Davion from the start, is upset that the faction they chose as deserving of their help, yet didn't ask for it, is not doing what the Merc unit expects of them.... What would you do if they asked for your help with fighting Davion instead of the clans? Would your unit help them?

What I find very odd is that some Merc units are dragged through the mud, while others are held in high regard, yet all Merc groups pretty much do what they want.. Yes while some may obey the wishes of their respective factions ( MS to this date still has yet to break the Marik/Liao NAP ) while others do not ( nice try PL ) in the end Merc units have the overall say in what goes on in CW, it is not the loyalists by any means, and seeing as that no faction can control a unit just as one unit cannot control a faction then what does it matter.

In closing your unit chose to go to DK, you could have easily gone to Steiner or FRR instead , factions that have no reason to fight with Davion. Just because your unit decided to grace DK with your presence doesn't mean they should change the way they have been playing because of your presence...
