I have not quite settled in on builds yet, so I will post those later today, but...

Likely something like that (though move back armor around). If I find that's too much ammo, I'll swap one ton for another heat sink.

Unsure on the others. I may throw a gauss on one

I am currently trying out a Gauss + 3 ML on the 5D, It actually works well, the arm is fairly low slung, but it also sticks out to the side, so it is really good firing around corners, but not over hills.

Strangely enough, it used to be the case that the LB 10-X was slightly faster-firing than the AC/10. They only got the same cooldown about, oh, four-six months ago I think?

Damn, I missed it! Was most likely when I took a break from MWO while the whole PGI/IGP shitstorm was going down.

Other things I have noticed with the Enforcer:
1) this thing is really tanky as long as you keep moving. But stopping or running straight away seems to mean instant death.
2) this thing seems to need AT LEAST a 225, 250 minimum is better. So I would go with an XL250 before a standard 200
3) XL's seem to do ok, as long as you follow #1 and keep moving and twisting!
4) I really like jump jets on this thing, mobility seems a bit sluggish (may just need to be elited first) and jump jets help a lot

ENF-5P - The sawed off boomstick! This is just a fun build that worked decently well. Trying to figure out how to get more ammo on it without slowing it down too much...

Ha ha, I had something similarin mind while toying around at smurfy's.

Boomstick MK. II

True, it's slower than your version, but has more ammo, leg-armor and keeps the JJ for mobility in certain terrain. Has similarities to the Blackjack-Omnicmech Variant A. Though I have yet to earn the cash to make this true.

Split the difference? http://mwo.smurfy-ne...12c95d3c06f18f7

I'm not running this, just not happy w/ the ENF-5P myself yet. Best I've done is 2xAC5 and ERLL, but it's much weaker than the others for me.

ENF-4R "Blazer" For all those people who wanted the Zeus-6Y's Blazer cannon I give you.... Something that's still not a Blazer Cannon (But it's better because it still does more damage and generates less heat than the Binary Laser Cannon anyways, and on a Medium mech!). Take advantage of the 4R's Large Laser Quirks. The two mediums in the Left arm will hopefully give you some Short range/Low heat options. a XL255 for Speed and Heat. And you get a Right Arm to sacrifice. Use the triple LLs for Mid range support, and Left Arm's for Sutainable firepower.

ENF-5D . Not quite as fast as other 5D's that I've seen mentioned, but more Combat Durability (Ammo, Heat Sinks), And it adds a BAP. And I love BAPs for Short range builds because A. Anti-ECM, B. Target Gathering Info+. (Figure out where that Shotgun needs to be pointed at quicker!) C. Anti-Mech Possum detection. and D. Easier to claim Scouting bonuses with Sensor Range +

Alternatively, here's another option, that swaps the XL255, for a XL280 (get 10 extra KPH over the 255, and with Speed Tweak, just shy of 100 KPH. It also moves a heatsink to the be protected inside the engine. ENF-5D "Rapid Reaction"

The -4R with an STD-250 and 3xLL is pretty stronk.

I'm at a loss on the ENF-5P though. I just don't know what to do with this ****.

This is the build I've been running with my enforcer, and its been doing really well.

[smurfy]http://mwo.smurfy-ne...bb10aa600c11992[/smurfy]

Engage at medium to long range with Large laser and UAC 5 solvos, and trigger your medium lasers on anything else closer. Its dps is relatively high if you don't jam. Its armor combined with its jump jets really let you splash damage well all over your chassis.

4R: 250 XL Endo Steel Double HS 3ERLL 2ML 1MG 1/2ton MG ammo stock JJs 800+ range on LLs with modules, excellent sniper plus jump jets.

5D: 300XL Endo Steel 1 LBX10 3 MLL This thing seriously kicks ass. 97kph with no upgrades 3 tons of ammo, plenty of carnage. Jumps stupid high and fast, runs fast hard to hit. Its wonderful for cracking open some king crabs.

5P: haven't come up with good build yet

The 5P is just one of those mechs that you can't really build for. Too arm-centric and mediocre weapon setup. I could probably make it work with an ERLL and 2 AC2/s, though... but we'll see.

4MGs + ERPPC might be silly.

The 5P is somewhat hard to work with.
I currently run it with a 210XL, 1 ML and 2 UAC5 with 5t of ammo.
It's rather slow, can't tank and you can't spam if you don't want to run out of ammo in the middle of the match.
It works decent as fire support from the 2nd line.

Another typical build would be ENF-5P
Or another AC10 build ENF-5P
2 AC5 can be done better with other mechs (Wolverine).
2 LB10X or AC10 suffer from low ammo.
4 MG + ER-PPC/LPL is pretty weak...maybe with a big engine...ENF-5P

The other two are more basic ENF-5D ENF-4R ENF-4R or something like that.

I love me some ballistics, but I agree that the 5-P was a ***** to get settled into. But I think I finally settled into a decent build.

5P: XL 250, Endo, 1 Gauss, 3 MG's, 1 MPL, 2JJ.
Works fairly well, those general ballistics buffs really help the gauss. Might switch all the MG's and MPL for an ERLL. I also wish I could have 4 JJ's for this thing for better positioning...

4R: XL 250, Endo, 1 AC10, 3 MPL, 2JJ.
I was going to go with a full laser build, but decided to try the AC10 before I did. That 20% cooldown is wicked, it fires FASTER that the MPL's O.o. May try out 2 LL's instead of the 3 MPL's, but it will run a bit hotter I think.

5D: Std 225, Endo, 1 LBX10, 3ML, 4JJ.
I thought this build would be weak, but like others have said, it's pretty good. I don't like brawling in a medium, but it isn't too bad. The 4 JJ's help throw off some shots in a pinch. Could probably switch from 3 ML to one (ER)LL for more range if needed. And two (ER)LL's if you switched to an XL engine.

The resistance variant is the worst in my books... I ended up with these builds...

ENF-5P Troll as, but so much fun with dual chainfire fire groups.

ENF-4R Standard laser vomit... DO NOT use the XL variant from metamechs with 3LL 2ML, it's a death trap.

ENF-5D Mobile Gauss platform, XL is squishy but it packs a punch and speed.

Endo-Steel

I have also ran it as a mini Summoner

1xGauss
1xERPPC

The Enforcer first frustrated me a bit, pre-elite, and with quirk focused builds(+ there was this challenge this weekend...). After alot of tinkering, though, I came up with builds I'm absolutely comfortable with and perform decent. I'll share them here.

5D: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...7f132a9936b9485
4R: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...80aa1e2c2abb6b8
5P: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...2c763fdc7b305fd

The only thing need to test is a build with a Gauss. I'll see to that after finishing Elite.

My favorite of the Enforcers atm, a 4r: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...3d9faaa2a125a90

I find the SPLs to put better work in a brawl than medium lasers.

But with the naturally good hit boxes of the enforcer, a shield side, jump jets, and standard engine, this baby takes damage like a boss.

I am satisfied so far. 5D may be slightly less effective than CN9-D, but with 12% CD module on LBX it is still very viable. 5P on the other hand is great fun.

Gunslinger (feels like old west) and Ripper (believe me or not I put down a King Crab face to face I guess he wasn't very good).

This mech begs for XL as it's side torsos are really slim. I think Enforcer may be a replacement for CN9. It's not straight up better but for someone who prefers to entrust his durability to smaller silhouette (just compare to CN9) rather than rapid torso twist it's really good choice.

WTF... 4 tons of ammo? I have 9 tons in mine and I still run out.

Here is what I have been playing around with. I am not sure which builds I like better and I am also not sure about placement of weapons yet. For example do I want my LPLs in the arms or in the torso on the 4R? I am trying to figure that out.

The only thing I know for sure is I do like the speed and the JJ's! The other thing I think I know is that these work better with an XL Engine. So far I have not noticed much of a difference in survivibility when going with a STD Engine. Probably because in those cases when I am still alive at that point my arms are gone along with most of my fire power.

Here are the builds I have been toying with, so far I am experiment with weapons that take advantage of the quirks only. I did not configure the armor exactly how I like it I usually go 40/8 in the ST's and 50/14 in the Center.

5D Builds:
1: LPL Build: not my favorite but not bad either. I have noticed having the LPL's in the torso is way better when I have a STD 250 engine equipped.
2. LBX10-MPL Build: This one is quite fun to play. Although I am still not sure the LBX is what I hope it would be. No reason for a STD here. When the arms are gone there is not much fire power left.
3. LBX10 Take 2: This one uses ML's in stead of MPL's. This allows max engine size, although I have entertained maxing armor and going with an XL 320 instead. I could also max armor and go with an STD 260, but I don't see the point cause 2ML's once your arms are gone just don't seem to cut it.

5P Builds:
1. Single UAC5 + ERLL: Very fun build to play. I like having the ERLL for more punch when I run out of ammo, but 1 laser is not much really.
2. Dual UAC5s: Another fun build. Very ammo dependent, and very strong until you run out!

4R Builds:
1. AC10+MPL (NO JJ): I like the build but it seems sacrilegious to not have JJ's on an Enforcer!
2. AC10+ML: This is the one I play mostly and it does really well.
3. Pulse: Ths one is fun to play, although isn't an enforcer supposed to have ballistics? This one is more of an experiment, but is performing well. I have even shaved the right arm armor off and added a heat sync, but I prefer it a little hotter.
4. ERLL: Another experiment. But it is fun to play.
With the last two builds here I have switched the laser around putting the larges in the ST and the ARM. Still not sure where I like them the best.

Hope you find these useful? Either way feedback on what you think and like better would be great!

almost the exact build I ended up performing best in, only differences being that I carry a ton less ammo, one JJ and half a ton of armour more, and I've shelled out for the XL255 (primarily for use in my CH9-AH). but those are mostly cosmetic/quality-of-life differences.

Gonna have to put this thing together tonight. I've had very limited success with the LB10. Things picked up when I swapped its out for a gauss rifle but with the arm position being low its not really optimal for sniping and in most cases I'm better served by my Grid Iron if I wanna run a GR-centric medium.

2xAC5 (with that same arm convergence) feels like it should make for a pretty potent little mech.
