Will the Atlas ever have glowing eyes again? Couldn't it be an option to toggle on / off, like opening King Crab claws?

I would love to see the glowing eyes back of the Atlas, when can we expect this? For free or MC?

As we have discussed before ;-) The solution is to light it up when a target is aquired.

Hello everyone and Russ, I have a few questions:
  • What will the Steam integration and/or move entail?
    • Will you use Steam DRM? Meaning that we will have to log in on Steam and then again to MWO?
    • Will you use Steam netcode/servers? A double edge sword, as Steam netcode/servers can work great or simply become unplayable, especially to non US players.
    • If the above is a no, it will be just a way to promote the game to a broader audience?
  • Do you have real plans to move the timeline forward in 2015?
  • Are there any real plans for new game modes, that are not CW related?
  • Why is the recent IS Quirk update based on stock loadouts?
    • You (PGI) and the NGNG crew have said several times, that MWO is different from Battletech, and the stock loadouts come from the boardgame.
  • I'm loving the Panthers and Enforcers. When will the faction content be available?
  • Any chance of changing the spawn points of the maps, now that the solo and the group queues are independent?
Sorry if my English is not perfect.

Regards to everyone and thanks for the time.

Haddati

3. PGI is already lost in trying to bring balance to the Game, due to Ghostheat, insane Quirks, etc.
You cannot balance the Mechs because all of the Mechs have their own purpose.
Due to the Quirks the IS Mechs have an advantage like spam PPC over the board, spam Pulse Lasers, run faster, have more structure in legs and arms, turn faster, shorter beam duration, more cooldown, less heat etc.
Why is it so bad that the Clans have a second weapon which makes 15 PinPoint Damage? The Lasers have a long beam duration so they automatically spread the damage so the ERPPC would do 15 dmg in one location.
The Range is now the same due to the Quirks for IS accept the Projectile speed for the IS is faster now.
Additionally the IS has the AC20 which is making 20 Pinpoint damage, and also every other ACs are no burst fire, so the do there damage in one Location.

I agree with most of these things, really.

Question for Russ: can you release the Clan Wave III before February 28 so we can enjoy the Anniversary Reward?

I want to go top tier in that one.

I want mechs to survive the loss of both legs... laying on their backs, waiting for anything to show inside the barely-moveable reticle

For those of us with 150+ mechbays, will there ever be a way to remove all modules and cockpit items from all mechs in one action? If not, can you add an indicator in the mechbay select screen that shows if a mech has a non-consumable module equipped?

I add my vote to this. I would also ask that you put some sort of timer notification when the servers are going down for maintenance. Thank you!

Are there any plans to revisit how the heat scale works and bring heats outside the engine to their full potential?

I find that there are many mechs that should never overheat that do in the game due to a poorly designed heat scale/cooling design. I.E. a mech with 6 medium lasers and double heat sinks on a normal temperature map should be able to fire non-stop and run without over heating. I don't feel canon needs to be followed 100%. I do feel that the TT numbers can be translated to a RT game.

How about changing the almost pin point convergence to be more like the old arcade shooters? IE the more you move around the bigger your reticle gets and the less convergence you have.

Any plan on improving the loyalty rewards items?

To be more inclined to the faction you're playing, like a faction warhorn, faction colors, diferent items for each house, not just the same cup of pop for every house for an example.

Will the matchmaker be revisited with regards to the group queue? It's painful taking a 2-3 man group and dropping with a 8-10 man, especially if I'm grouping with a newer player.

Also, is there any way we would use premium time to cover for other players so we could play private matches together- I still feel forcing two players to have premium time is too much.

What's the timeline and plan for the new player's experience? For this game to thrive, many issues on this topic still need to be addressed. Everything from the tutorials, to private matches, matchmaker, mech lab, starting mechs, game quirks (like ghost heat), need to be improved.

Thanks!

Question: when can we make the game look this good for all users? For me it does not look like I'm in a giant war machine when the environment is set to low and textures set to med, when that is the only thing my computer can handle without a major FPS drop?

I also find my FPS mainly drops when looking towards the majority of mechs on the map, even when I can't see them.

Ex. When I look at them, 30 and under FPS. When I look away, 40+ fps. Highest fps I ever got was in a match without a single mech in view, and that number was 70. I wish it was like that all the time.

One last question for me.
Is there going to be any advanced electronic warfare in MWO, like the angel ECM suite or anything similar?

ECM currently works like the Angel ECM from TT. We do not need it even better...

Considering the imbalance between Clan and IS, which seems even more apparent after the latest quirk pass that nerfed what we're arguably two of the best IS chassis for community warfare (TDR-9S and WVR-6K) would you consider the following buffs to IS chassis as a whole to try and even the playing field a bit?

1) Buff external(the ones that aren't true double sinks like the 10 found in all 250 rated and above engines) IS double heat sinks by .2. This would be a small change but would help the IS overall, and makes sense considering IS doubles take up more critical space.

2) Lower IS ERPPC base heat from 15 to 13. This would be a nice medium to balance the weapon between the two factions since currently clan ER PPCs get an extra 5 dmg for the exact same heat and less tonnage.

Double heat sinks are really double heat sinks !
That would be great, but will never come.

The quirks with "-15% heat for energy...." have the same effect. Therefore improved quirks will also help.

Question for Russ:
"Is there a chance that the TDR-7SE (4x MPL, 1x Gauss, JJ & ECM) will be released as thunderbolt hero mech?"

As a clanger who doesn't feel the discrepancy is nearly as much as some believe it to be, I fully support these two changes. It would be a nice, but not extreme, boost to a couple innersphere weak points.

Question for Russ:

"Is there any realistic hope for community-made maps, especially to accurately depict planetary conquest?"
