+1 to all those who report looking forward to some Succession Wars action instead of nothing but clantech!
I'm really disappointed by the dropping of plans for a console version, as I cannot bring myself to install Windows again but am plenty satisfied with the performance of the XBox 360. If the game is successful enough, there is still hope for me though. I was eager to see how Mechwarrior controls were to be mapped to a gamepad after reading about it the other year; I've been imagining combinations of joystick shift, small nested menus on the D-pad, multi-function buttons, etc. (tap this button to toggle free reticule/autocentering reticule, double-tap it to toggle a MW3-style zoom window, press and hold to toggle lightamp/thermograph/whatever, maybe even double-tap and hold to do something with the radar/minimap) I love this button-efficient stuff and want to see more in the industry when most games these days come with stupidly suboptimal controls and not even basic remapping options. I am willing to wait a couple more years for my turn, I guess. I really want a proper Mechwarrior game to wash away the bitter taste of Mechassault being tied into the Battletech franchise.

Battletech - Mechwarrior through and through. And the only thing I am saddened by is all of the older Mechwarriors we have lost in the past 10 years, who will not be here to play with us, when this new baby goes live.
OK....Its time to...well, FED RATS, line up, its time for your smackdown.

Also piloted original pods (virtual worlds LLC in Vegas). **** shame they are scattered across the globe. A fine piece of hardware for a pilot looking for some action in the "Mech silent" years.

I've been playing since MW2. I prefer the WVR-6M as my Battlemech of choice.

Nav from Melbourne, Australia.
This is finally happening! And good to see they are being faithful to the Battletech Universe Rules etc.
Been playing Battletech since 1990. Started with the board game and early Crescent Hawks computer games. Played all Mechwarrior iterations since.
Good to see we get to start at the dawn before the Clan Invasion.
My Mech of choice (for this time period) is a Victor 9D. I am a citizen of the Federated Suns and I have affiliation with the Kell Hounds and Wolf's Dragoons.

Canadian.
Got introduced to the Battletech universe through the animated series when I was seven years old, Mechwarrior 2 shareware demo when I was eight years old. Bought up every Battletech PC game I could.
Collected the CCG when I was 11 years old, though I eyed that 4th edition intro-box fervently and asked for it as a christmas gift, a combination of my then being dependent on my parents to buy things, as well as the horrible USD/CAD exchange rate making it atrociously expensive, kept me away from it.
Picked up the Battletech Master Rules back in 2004 as well as the old 2nd edition RPG. Learned like it was religion. Wait... what's this "Like" business?
Now I'm a Catalyst Demo Team member. Battletech has been a part of me since I was a kid. It goes without saying that I've been waiting some time for this game to be released - though I won't lie I was hoping for a single player game. On that note, for all the praise that Piranha is giving themselves about urban environment this and that, I hope to heck that they'll have game areas more varied than ALL URBAN ALL THE TIME. I'd love to get some heavily wooded maps in, with trees that don't explode into toothpicks at the slightest touch.
