I have been a mech/walker fan for as long as i can remember. Picked up mechwarrior 2 when i was a child.
What mech / robot do you think is the best (or the one you pretend you are when you are home alone?

Well, this belongs to the off-topic.

The original answer is clear, Mechwarrior, but I only ever pretended to be a Dreadnaught. :)

Can this be moved to off-topic?

Played Warhammer 40K Space Marine on PC yesterday with my friends.
We played 3 vs 1 (the lonley person got to play the dreadnought) and i figured out that it is really fun to chew up infantry with mechs... Especally when you have a big assault cannon as an arm.

Since when Mechwarrior is a "mech" ? I thought it's a series of games / part of battletech universe / pilot of a Mech. Certainly not the type of Mech.
Same with all the other answers.
We vote for "Best Mech in all the different universes" or we vote for the universum? Either question is wrong or the answers are wrong.

Besides - it's like asking on CoD forum "which series is better - CoD or BF".
C'mon..... let's be serious.

I love the BT Universe and story much better. But its hard to argue with mechs that are as large or larger than battlemechs and a billion times faster.

These Armored Cores make even the lightest mech seem like its standing still.

Umm... Exo Squad. It had power armor, not mechs, but I just want to find out if anyone else ever saw that cartoon...
As far as mechs I'll go with Robot Jox style... Because watching it now is hilarious. Nothing says mech better than a chainsaw coming out of a robo-crotch.
Edit: On a more serious note I'd say the Rifts Universe has the best variety of power armor, mecha, and weapons. Burst-firing railguns to 2000+ meters and nuclear weapons make me smile.

If you talk about gaming experience, Mechwarrior of course.

If you talk about good looking mechs, it's mechwarrior...with the unseen. Otherwise it's W40k or Armored Core

I remember this show. It was the only thing close to Battletech back in the day, even if it was a little cheesy. lol

Where is Starsiege?

Starsiege was honestly better than Mechwarrior 3.

Those other universes don't have the Centurion, Stormcrow, or any of the IIC mechs. They lose by default. :(

I really like Battlemechs. The fluff makes 'em plausible and interesting, all the details about how they are built and how they function are really cool. But I have to admit that the nostalgia factor that Heavy Gear brings to me is pretty strong. Gears are so simple in their concept that sounds like a more practical weapons platform. The low tech principles that makes 'em work (no myomers, just plain old hydraulics, no fusion reactors, just sturdy and simple diesel powerplants, vr helmets instead of neurohelmets, etc) turn the machines into affordable, reliable and easy to mantain combat units. The low profile (no larger that a Protomech) contributes to their battlefield role as an IFV, a cross between an infantry soldier and a tank that makes a commando-like vehicle. Dont get me wrong, I do like my Battlemechs, it´s just that i have a soft spot for Heavy Gear because that ip gave me the majority of the pew pew fun (not too much, beam weapons werent nearly as cool in Heavy Gear as they are in BT, so you ended up relying on ballistics :( ) I had in my childhood
So pleas add HG to the voting list
Thank you :(

You're asking in a MW forum. What answers do you expect?
