So 4 Clan Getting Quirked Are!

Pod space.
Ice Ferret. 9.5 tons
Summoner. 22.5 tons
Gargoyle. 21.5 tons
They basically NEED god teir quirks because they cant run very many weapons, so the weapons they DO run need to be valuable. (Super rapid fire ACs, Low heat PPCs with high velocity, low heat/burn time lasers, etc).

but i still think the Nova should be Quirked before the ice Ferret,
Nova has some acceptable heat quirks; what it really needs is armour.
Ferret has nothing yet; something is better than nothing. It will be obsoleted by the ShadowCat otherwise.

Sorry, but I can already give most pilots a run for their money in my STOCK Adders. Oh the glory that will be the Adder once it gets quirked!

The Adder obviously got picked because it doesn't have much of a purpose other than being a light gunboat that runs too hot. That, and it was the giveaway from the challenge. Russ had been hinting at it getting improved for some time now.
The Gargoyle is a little more interesting, as it's not a good mech, but it's not a complete waste either. It CAN have good rounds and find a somewhat useful place, but suffers lack of weapon tonnage. I'm hoping for heat gen buffs. Also bonus: Movement profile needs lowered from huge.
The Ice Ferret is probably the best of the group, but needs some love because of limited hardpoints. That "D" variant coming out in April will help with an extra energy hardpoint, but will lose it's purpose once the Arctic Cheetah comes out and has the same speed, but also jumpjets, ECM and more potential firepower due to more hardpoints. I'm hoping for armor and heat gen buffs, but cooldown buffs would be very nice too.
I personally expected the Mist Lynx and Nova would be getting quirks, as they are probably in the worst shape at the moment. Both too slow, hot and fragile.

God tier is going way too far. I own all of these mechs except for the Summoner, and they aren't tier 5. They likely settle between tier 3-4.
None of them need Thud-level stupid quirks.

i can understand, but i still the Nova is worse off than the IceFerret,
yes the IceFerret has the hardpoints of a light and not much tonnage, but its also the fastest ClanMech,
the Nova is as slow as ClanHeavies, carries only 16Tons of weapons and have hardpoints to spare,
also all its arms have the same 5% Quirk so their is no reason to take less, you have to take 12E,

that may be true but thats coming in June/July, thats several months away,
so not even a good reason at this time, as all Clan quirks will be out by then,

Adder: the main problem I have with the adder is that a scarecrow does everything an adder does. Same speed equal to better SharePoint. Better armor. Adder is slightly more agile but it doesn't really matter. It would be hard to quirk it to the point it performs as well ad a scarecrow without making the adder a superior choice.
Ice ferret: I actually like this mech as a light Hunter. Quirks will just enhance what it already does. I would agree with the opportunity that a nova would be a better choice. Of course the problem with the nova is ghost heat. Nothing else really.
Summoned: this is another mech I don't see quirks helping too much. Hardpoints and permanent jump jets are what kill it.
Gargoyle: I would. Like to see them reduce the movement class category on this mech and see how it performs then. It would still be th at pressed to compete with a timberwolf. Quirks would help this m each if they made that change

That has me puzzled as well...the Adder is Sadder that it's Badder, but at least it doesn't get its only weapons blown off in seconds (if built properly). It also just has a lot more pod space to work with in general.
But oh well, I think Pumas are the cutest light and I have MW4 nostalgia for them, so I say pile on all of the Tier 1 quirks they can!

I dunno man, I run some builds that avoid ghost heat but are still pretty decent.
Novas are quite slow for their size and have horrible hitboxes. They need armor quirks more than anything IMO.

I think there are some people on these forums that don't play enough IS mechs, and have a very skewed view on the 'hawk. Sure, it's not a Direwolf. It can never be. What it can do well however, is wub like there's no tomorrow.
