They don't make games f2p instead of subscription based because in the end it is less money.. they do it because in the end it is more money if it's done right .)

yeah i want to spritz up and customize my cockpit. id pay c-bills to be able to add some personalization to it, and id spend real cash for it as well. not a hell of a lot but getting a house Kurita dragon with a marked (bright yellow paint) in smiley face on it would be a blast.
Like the Atlas named "Mr Nice guy" or "Mr Happy" with yellow head and smiley...
Talking about bobbleheads and other bling to your Mechs, if u watch closely u see Hulagirl in

Boosters= people who have jobs, less time to play, makes it better for those who have jobs and can pay.
Other hand= People who have no job, more time to play can probably keep up with Booster people in the race.
Logic'd
By the way, stop making topics about this, it's always threads about worries and junk...

They will have an impact on player progression in terms of collected exp, unlocks and c-bills necessary to buy/repair/maintain assets. The questions are: how much will the difference be for a given number of games and 2 players with and without boosters? How much of an advantage will a pimped out Mech represent? Will both (regular/premium) players regularly end up on opposing sides? That is how I'd rate the impact in general.
It appears that we are lacking vital information and experience to either prove or disprove a connection between said boosters and P2W. What we have is the intention of the devs to keep F2P from becoming P2W. My deduction is that P2W elements/factors, however they may manifest themselves (directly, indirectly, immediately or in the long run) will be considered as bugs and squished properly.
I can already see one of them creeping up on us and that is when people will join the game in a couple of months, by which time you can probably buy Mechs with XL reactors as starter Mechs, which are hideously expensive, maybe even too expensive for them. What we have right now is a situation where we can afford to buy Assault Mechs with standard reactors and if we keep the status quo (starter cash), future players might not be able to buy all Mechs at the beginning, unless real cash enters the equation. The same can be said for advanced weapons that may not fit the budget for a starter Mech.
I am very confident in PGI's ability to maintain F2P and keep P2W on a tight leash. Their interaction with the community is commendable.

its not pay to win or anything, because all weapons are free4all so if you want a gaussrifle, buy one, if you want a ppc, get one.
it not like old McCoy starts to sell you premium LRM's (without fuse xD)
so if some1 wants to buy premium, go for it, i never paid a cent in WoT and with MWO close ahead, it looks like i never have to.
Oh and even WoT cant be called pay2win, because as long as you play public rounds with your gold ammo, and suck in the game, you can't do anything to win. if your team is destroyed in the first few minutes and you are on your own, not even gold ammo and premium tanks can win the match.

You do realize all "Founders" took a risk, there is a chance though albeit a small one that we will not get anything for our money paid?
Does anyone really think polls like this will change anything at all? This is nothing but pure speculation, the game has not even been released yet.
Unlike some Founders and Non Founders, I will see the game for myself or wait for "official" answers before I will critcize what I do not like about the game.

This one can be tricky.
I seen games where they intentionally made units so expensive that you'd have to spend over a month of every-day farming in order to get them, while at the time they were selling them for like 10$.
And by intentionally expensive I mean a gear progression like that: 1M-2M-4M-25M/10$...
So selling units for real money needs to be made in really nice, balanced way no to make F2P people crippled in their attempt of getting thing and feel forced to pay for it.

f2p should actually really be f2p, there will be more then enough money in it for the company
Yeah, this covers MWO's outlook exactly. They even linked to this video themselves in one of the Pinned threads. The biggest thing that they will be following is to never sell power. Anything that can be purchased in game will be accessible whether or not the players pay real cash. The only advantage that those who pay real cash is that they will be able to access things sooner, but this benefit will wear out after a few months as the free players will have been able to grind enough c-bills to put them on an equal footing.

Anyway, so far MWO looks good, but it is a slippery slope that easy to get lost on. Some people will just assume that F2P means selling power automatically. Ignorance is a way of life for some.

It is if you need to have to step away from the game for some reason. I burned half a timecard for SW:TOR because of a combination of illness and being too busy to play - but at times, money's too tight to be able to afford anything. That's the "joy" of being self employed. F2P means that, even if I cannot afford a premium month, I can keep playing at any given time, should I get the time.

Well, aside from the fact that the OP was only curious to see how people felt, I don't see that the fact that I invested in the game invalidates my opinion in any way. Someone who has already made up their mind to not pay due to their beliefs is no less biased than I am for having paid - indeed, they may be more so.
