I think scaling is done through some sort of special vision goggles. They come in two forms. There's the "beer version" where people mechs magically look more attractive the more alcohol that is consumed. Then there's the "high version" where everything like film grain is viewed like it was from a Cheech and Chong movie.

As long as people are justifying such vision with the PGI-rose colored glasses, we will continue to get these mechs as currently constituted. It will keep being repeated as long as the Quickdraw is the standard bearer of MWO scaling.

Even the cent is dwarfed by the quickdraw's hugeness.

that would explain the number of people who actually think the Arctic Cheetah looks good. Well, that or sniffing too much glue/eating paint chips.

Grasshopper will be a good performing mech despite it's size... wait and see.

It is probably helped by how good the Arctic Cheater looks to be, then again the same thing was thought about the Grasshopper and Im sure we will get a 40 tonner size Arctic Cheetah just because we can't have nice things.

I think the arctic cheater looks bretty neat, but I wouldn't say it looks good. Then again, I like PGI's mist lynx, so my taste is pretty questionable.

I just wished the Mist Lynx looked a bit more like its predecessor, the Sling:

then it would be the Sling? Mist Lynx, especially the invasion, I think is a good translation of the TRO version. FrozenKitty? Big Robot 6?

  • I said look more like the Sling, not exactly like the Sling
  • While the Mist Lynx isn't near as bad looking as the Viper in the TROs, I still think it needed some love in the looks department. The Sling certainly looks badass for a 25 tonner which is why I would've loved to see a compromise on that one especially since the Mist Lynx was based off of it.

still trying to figure out where Btech mechs keep their reloads. Not sure how they can pack 100+ rockets the size shown, let alone the 1000s we usually carry.

Now that you mention it... ammo really should take 2 crits...
Just look at the Hunchback's ac20 cannon.

MAGIC!

How does a mech like the Centurion AH stay upright when 30% of its weight is on one side?

All of them except the Executioner, since he's supposed to be the tallest mech currently in existence ( if i recall correctly). Sooo he's going to be the size of a short Heavy mech, probably.

Teleportation technology. Ammo is teleported into the launcher as its needed.

Much like DBZ characters, they'll swell with power.

If they had made Zeus Awesome V2.0 the outcry would have been earth shattering. So instead, a smaller group cries it is too small, and then cries a laser boat mech with good agility and XL friendly hitbox, in the middle of LASER HSR META LAND is scaled bigger than other IS heavy mechs that have been on the decline for months now.

PGI, they can not win when they releae a mech, some people will cry and cry no matter what happens.

I say, TY PGI, for making the Zeus smaller so I have a light assault chassis that can take a hit besides the Stalker.
I will kill all of you in my pulse laser boat Grasshoppers. I dont care if it is tall. If I can get 600 dmg games in the Gargamel with medium mech amounts of firepower loadouts, I think I will be fine in this Ed "too tall" Jones insect mech.

Stop crying. Every new mech can't be better then the last one. What do you people want? A game with 100 ton Firemoths so you can shoot people with 80 point alphas from 98% cover? SOUNDS JUST LIKE BATTLETECH TO ME!!

We're not complaining about the Zeus, general consensus is the Zeus is in a pretty good spot.

If you bothered to read at all, we're concerned that a 70 heavy Battlemech is the size of an Assault; height, and shoulder width.

I want to hear the exact logical reasoning why the person modeling this mech was allowed, or told to model the Grasshopper that large.

EDIT: We're not demanding every new mech be better than the last one, we just don't want our new mech to be gimped out of the gate by an obviously ridiculous scaling problem.
