You do know you can't death zerg CW right? You are locked out until your drop deck is free.

doesn't seem to stop 3-4 people per match from doing it.

Try it.

I have enough mechs that I could toss together about 9 different combos of 240 tons.

Those are just bads...I typically see those sorts spend the first 15 minutes of the match in their first mech shooting the turret at the gate on the opposite side of where the team went, only to be killed right as they finally walk in that gate by the turret inside the wall...lol.

Then they spend the next 5 minutes dying in 3 mechs so fast your head spins when you realize they burned through 3 mechs in 5 minutes...

Missed entirely what I said.

3-4 people each match I am in, death zerg. Whether they can redrop or not, is somewhat irrelevant to that fact.

I have two accounts. If I wanted to, farming in CW would be easy enough. Heck, if they don't really like CW and are just there for the weekend event they wouldn't even have to jump back into CW. They could just zerg, die quit and join a regular match. Or do anything else for the next 10-20 minutes.

Steiner did not take 44 worlds...honestly, HK were the ones pushing hardest...not sure what Steiner took TBH.

Sure but its a false economy, you need two accounts, I guess if you are going to roll silly like that, its all you.

Look, it's beer season here over in Steiner space. We can't be expected to fight during beer season, which lasts 11 of the 12 months of the sol year. The 12th month is the brewing season of mourning.

I've got enough Mechs on hand to complete 8 decks for the IS and 2 for Clan, and I sold all but my (I) variants of my Clan Mechs and you don't think people can farm the event?

There's obtuse, then there's this....

And once again Gyrok and crew resort to the 'it's just no skill players calling for more Clan nerfs!' despite this being a PGI thing all along. Seriously, exactly HOW silly are you folks trying to look? I mean, you've gone full Kanye on us at this point, you realize that?

You can call me obtuse, but when I am talking about legitimate scenarios I have seen in game, and watched them unfold on the IS side, and the clan side as well...I am calling it as I see it. I have even had one such player that had his in game VOIP on, and I spent 2 minutes trying to get him to answer me while he was shooting a turret at a gate we had never even been remotely close to...(on sulfurous no less...). Then I told him to meet us in a grid when he finally answered back. I watched him walk through the gate we never used into a firing line and die, to respawn and continue through the same wrong gate, to the same result 3 more times over the course of 5 minutes...

There are some people who really need to understand, when you get to a certain point, you get dropped into matches to carry, and frankly...there are some outright terrible players in this game. Some of them are just new...however...some of them are just terrible and do not want to improve at all. Period.

What do you expect people to do? Ignore that group of the player base that condemns your side to carry dead weight? Nope...sorry...it is a harsh reality, but one that none the less exists in this game. If you think I am exaggerating, maybe one day you will make it into high elo hell, where you are used to balance complete scrubs out against other try hards. Those matches end up with the side having the least dead weight typically winning.

It was my understanding that ELO isn't considered in community warfare.

It is not...

I have seen this in CW and Pub queue...it is not something unique to one or the other. Bad players find their way into every game mode, and I see it all the time in the pub queues...hence the high elo hell comment. Just tends to make it far more noticeable.

To get back on track, here is most players' beef with this nerf, in a nutshell:

Do you guys have trouble killing the Kit Fox? How about the Nova, Summoner or Gargoyle? Are these mechs really OP in your eyes?

If the answer is no, then why are you supporting a nerf to them?

I am asking because I honestly want to understand where this is coming from.

It is not a nerf to those mechs, it is a nerf to the cXL engine. Those mechs are going to continue to be buffed through quirks and hopefully other changes like unlocking ferro / endo upgrades.

Like I have said a couple of times before, no one is afraid of a COM-2D or has any trouble dealing with it, but most EVERYONE can get behind an ECM nerf.

Because PGI either doesn't know, or doesn't want to do the targeted nerfs that should be done to the Timber Wolf and Storm Crow.

I think once the JJ issue is fixed on the Timber Wolf, we'll see it reigned in a bit, maybe a slight twisting speed adjustment afterwards, and I mean slight, like 5-10% slight. As for the Storm Crow, fix the void shields I guess? Mine never had them, so I can only assume that other people have seen and or encountered them. But perhaps the best thing that could be done, is remove speed tweak from them, maybe?

ECM does not just affect the mech using it; it affects every mech near it, ally and enemy alike. The XL engine in a mech only directly affects that mech. Also, you can choose whether or not to mount ECM; Clan mechs are stuck with XL powerplants, and cannot change their rating or the number of heatsinks within them.

Furthermore, PGI's glacial pace of development does not console me in regards to buffs for the worst Clan mechs.

Exactly this.

Nerfing something ALL Clan mechs have in common does not do anything but further gap specific mechs, and I would argue none even need the nerf it would bring.
