Logitech MX518 Optical Gaming Mouse:

Posted Image
Left mouse fires group 1 (usually left arm weapons)
Right mouse fires group 2 (usually right arm weapons)
Back thumb (mouse 4) fires group 3 (usually torso-mounted MLs, SRMs, or group-fired LRMs if I have LRMs)
Front thumb (mouse 5) fires group 4 (chain-fired LRMs if I have LRMs, or another group of MLs/SRMs)
Mouse wheel click zooms.

That's my setup, and it suits me fine. Having left-side weapons on left mouse and right-side weapons on right makes it easier for me to not shoot cover when I hug corners, and also makes it easier to manage heat.

Having LRMs split on two buttons for group- or chain-fire also makes it easy to choose if you want to rattle the target or saturate his AMS with a big salvo.

If I want to alpha I press all buttons, the thumb can easily press both thumb buttons at once.

Only time it gets hairy is when the 'mech has more than four weapon groups - but then I probably need to revisit that build anyway ;)

I just use LMB and RMB for groups 1 and 2, and then I use one of the thumb buttons for group 3. I fire the missiles with scroll wheel up and down.

I like my G700. The side buttons are for groups 3-6 on most mechs. ECM mechs have a different profile where the group 6 button is the ECM toggle instead. The three buttons near button 1 are for full ahead, full stop, and full reverse (accel/decel on lights is faster than you get holding W). I also bound the throttle +/- to the mouse wheel for smaller adjustments.

I tried using the tilt wheel for DPI adjustment, but it's too sensitive. I found myself needing to readjust every time I used zoom. I rarely play sniper mechs anyways, so I don't usually need to change DPI.

I use the same thing. Standard mouse button 1 and 2 are firing groups 1,2 which I generally use for left and right arm weapons. The four side buttons are groups 3-6. The three buttons on the topside of the mouse I use for uav/arty/airstrikes. I use the wheel button (press the wheel) to control zoom.

I group my weapons by long range(top mount)/short range(low mount) and left side/right side with one of those groups on the 1/2 and the other on the 3/4, depending on which group is more used on that mech. If it's a left right mech, left and right mouse buttons are left right with the other buttons broken down into weapon type, and if its something like a stalker, I have the top mount guns on 1 and the lower guns on 2, with left/right on 3 and 4.

While i do own and use both the Razor Naga and the Logitech G600 i prefer the Razor for MWO. The thumb buttons on the Logitech take a bit more pressure to push and therefore it is easier to distort the shots with the G600, at least for me.

5 weapon groups is all I ever really need or use. Weapon group 6 is dedicated to TAG macroing.

Groups 1-3 are normal weapon separation. 1/2 can be left/right arm, or separate weapons systems whichever makes more sense. Group 3 is torso weapons or missile weapons.

Group 4 is typically only weapons in the arm, sometimes with/without chain fire. Also sometimes just weapons on the left arm.

Group 5 is then typically either just weapons in the torso set to chain fire. Also sometimes just weapons on the right arm.

Its the cleaver placements of those clear plastic sticky dots that makes it special ;)

Hmm I like the bumpy sticker idea! What are those called? Look kinda like little bumpers, or casters, or something...

Logitech G 602
Groups 1 and 2 are of course left and right click
Mouse Wheel zooms and flicking up on it activates adv zoom if using it

The side buttons are
Push to Talk -Ext Program | Group 5 | Group 6
Group 3 | Group 4 | Group 5 (I think, or might be full alpha)

I almost never using group 5 or 6 though because it requires moving my thumb to much to get to them. 3 Is right under my thumb and 4 requires minimal movement, plus I can mash both 3 and 4 in the same press if I need to

I have a 20$ Gigabyte mouse with 4 buttons (in including clicking the mousewheel) and a DPI switch.

LMB/RMD = left arm right arm main weapons
3/4/wheel button = left torst / right torso / other weapon (if an arm has 2 different wepaons for instance) or chain fire of some group
E key = LRM or "fire all SRMS" or alpha, depending on the mech

I usually use all 6 groups if possible. Like a boss.

G400 i never go over 4 groups

LM - Group 1
RM - Group 3
2 (keyboard not numpad) - Group 2
3 (same) - Group 4

After so many FPSs just got used to switch things with numbers like cycling nades in cs and such so is just much quicker to me this way and not having everything assigned to the mouse buttons

Weapon group 1 - left mouse
low-heat / low recycle weapons

Weapon group 2 - middle mouse
chain fire all guns on pewpew mechs, missiles on others.

Weapon Group 3 - right mouse
Heavy weapons / high heat

Weapon Group 4 - v
Narc

Weapon Group 6 - left alt
If I have two heavy weapons, this takes the place of low cycle, low heat
Also TAG laser

1 = left mouse
2 = right mouse
3 = 3
4 = 4
5 = left ctrl (I came to shoot stuff, not look around my cockpit :>)
6 = space-bar
JJ = left shift

I have a Razer Naga, but I only touch the '4' on it. Too much thumb movement from 4 to 3. Most of the hard work is done with the left hand ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I use the same mouse. Though in truth, I don't like to go over three-four weapon groups because I tend to end up forgetting to use some of them.

I use a Utechsmart Venus MMO mouse. Has 12 easy to reach buttons, so I'm not averse to using more than 3 weapon groups though I rarely have to use more than that. The Direwolf was the only mech I used where I had to use all 6 groups.

LM Group 1- Left arm weapons
RM Group 2- Right arm weapons
Group 3- Head/CT mounted weapons
Group 4- Torso weapons
Group 5- Alpha Strike
Group 6- Misc. weapons (generally torso weapons that would feel unwieldy when bound with other weapons, or an individual weapon to conserve heat. Or all weapons on chain fire)

I had one of those Logitech mice, similar to the ones pictured above with 4 buttons that was GREAT. But I wore it out, and just switched to a Naga. So far, I am not happy with it. I can't get a DPS setting that I like, and all the additional buttons just make the mouse harder to handle. :(

G600. Lmb is group 1, rmb group 2, ring finger button group 3, thumb pad 3 rebound to group 4, thumb pad six is group 5. I never use group six. Group 5 is limited to guided weapons only like LRM or SSRM.

They are non scratch sticky feet, buy them from hardware store.

That cluster of three on top makes groups 1 3 n 4 very accessible with a single fingertip , the ones on side mean I can trigger groups 5 n 6 without taking my thumb off the dpi shift.

The one on top centre just helps locate that button without accidentally unlocking the mouse wheel.
