We all make mistakes, especially in the mechlab sometimes.

For me, it was when I decided to take streaks. I thought I took the right ammo, but sure enough, I didn't take a peak at the ! Triangle and poof! No ammo for the Streaks, which was all I had :D

What about you? What Mistakes have YOU made in the mechlab!?

Back in the early early days of CB the mech lab (meatball? really autocorrect?) used to allow you to take mechs out without engines. I figured what the hell and loaded an Atlas up with as many guns and single heat sinks as I could fit (no doubles at this time). Match loaded up and sure enough I could only move at like 10kph max... which wouldn't be an issue if not for the fact that the mechs torso twist rate suffered just as much.

I was a stationary turret that could only follow the slowest of the slow mechs that wandered into my field of view. Never took an engineless mech out again :-P

I once accidentally launched in a heavy mech with one small laser, because I left to go get a drink in the middle of putting weapons on and forgot that I wasn't done by the time I got back.

Purchased Endo-Steel and DHS for my Vindi after the PPC quirks went in. Slapped on two ERPPCs, and XL engine and hit save. In my eagerness I hit play and instantly got a match. I set my fire groups, formed up with the team and started looking for a target.

Unfortunately I'd forgotten to actually add heat sinks back in after buying DHS. So my first alpha overheated me for a good minute. And then the enemy team crested a hill opposite me. And I still was shutdown.

So either that or putting the wrong ammo in (AC ammo for UACs for example)

Unlocking permanent Woodland Camo for my Victors for 750MC, thinking it would unlock that pattern for all mechs.

Accidentally launched a match with an Adder with that CT flamer before saving the config.

1) When changing camo, I accidentally bought a premium color for MC. I already had 2-3 variations of the same color...
2) I once bought a regular mech variant for MC when I meant to use c-bills for the mech and spend the MC on more bays.
3) Somehow lost two 6M cbill modules one night & never found them again.

Fixed Jump-Jets, Internal Structure type, and Armor type on Clan mechs.... oh wait I didn't make that mistake.

Several times I took a Gauss Rifle.

For quite an embarrassing amount of time I was running a PPC Blackjack with 1 ton of AC5 ammo hidden in the head.

It was only when I found I was 1 ton short on weight compared to my Smurfy builds that I realised I had an issue.

I took off the SRMs off of a Wolverine and added 3 large laser, so I ignored the warning sign, figuring it was warning me about ghost heat.

Turns out I still had 3 tons of SRM ammo it was trying to warn me about as well. Not terribly bad, but funny. I elited it out before I realized.

I've done pretty much everything from load the wrong ammo type to forgetting it altogether. At least I know I'm not the only one.

Oh yeah and this guy said that he didn't realize it but he had a "Hollandjack". He said that he thought he put in one Gauss. Then it for whatever reason was actually two Gausses. Pretty funny watching him walk slower than my Atlas.

No armor drop on a Jagermech.

I was wondering why my build was working out so easily with a standard engine...

LOL! I've also done the UAC / AC ammo cross myself. It makes for a quick match.

Did exactly this while trialing for STS with a Senior Officer, had to sheepishly own up seconds into the match. Still beat our DireWhale on damage. lol.

Raging why a mech that does well with an XL fitted has no weight for armour or weapons. That was an XL i fitted right..........pure pro on Team Speak

I now check my builds in the training grounds.
