CJF is coordinated. Problem is all the older units and leaders are burnt to hell and now the remaining warriors are facing overwhelming numbers. The general feeling is "this does not matter" so now CJF is just looking for good fights where we can get them and not worrying so much about planet totals.

Maybe once the Clans are pushed back to the starting planets PGI will finally realize there is a problem to be addressed.

I noticed that CJF players seemed more interested in looking for fights, rather than attacking or defending their own planets. I just found it really odd. Why do they think this 'doesn't matter'? Last I heard the map reset was going to a vote, not guaranteed to happen.

Isn't the heat for the IS ERPPC the same as the CERPPC? And while both IS PPC's do 10 points of damage, the CERPPC does 10 points plus 5 splash while being lighter and and smaller (less crits). I don't understand people complaining about the CERPPC in comparison to its IS equivalents, because IS PPC's are only generally good on mechs that are quirked to use them. Otherwise the CERPPC is the better weapon compared to the IS ones, save maybe for the standard PPC having less heat (but doing little to no damage under 90 meters, shorter range, and being heavier). This doesn't address the whole IS vs Clan balance issue, but its only quirks that make IS PPC's good in comparison to the CERPPC.

Why complain
1) The Spread, that you lose damage on that exchange a LOT hit an arm or leg and 2.5 dispears
2) c/ER-PPCs don't often register the the second shot in a dual salvo chain fire, it won't count while the CT is flashing from the first shot
3) IS ER-PPCs are utter crap as well, however, a IS mechs get heat and velocity quirks to make them usable.

Only quirks make PPCs of ANY flavor even decent.

Does not matter because despite the efforts of each clan, the population of the IS is screwing up any options to attack or defend. Therefore the individual planets do not matter and CJF rather just get fights instead of worrying or stressing out about little dots on the map that currently have no value.

As far as the map reset goes; if it does reset then all of this truly did not matter. If it does not reset, then some population mechanic will need to be introduced and planetary value added before individual planets matter.

People still claiming Clan is OP didn't read the quriks on their IS mechs.

It's not the clans fault that some of the IS drops are allergic to actually making good builds with the quirks they have.

Seen so many people over the weekend bring Lurmstalkers, snipe Cicadas with one ER-PPC and many other strange things.

Usually if they didn't and instead brought LL Stalkers and Thunderbolts it was either close or clan got owned.

Been playing cw for a bit. Before The tonnage change Clan was beatable using certain tactics, now IS has dramatically better lights, better long range, and better brawling. Furthermore the trash maps favor long range, short range, and rush tactics. IS is overwhelming overwhelmingly superior on CW maps/game modes.

That Steam release is coming up... I don't like how this is looking for this game.

K. If its pug on pug I'll buy it. If IS has any kind of game plan you can forget it. My 2 cents.

Likewise if IS pugs face off against organised Clan drops. Surprise surprise, teamwork is once again proven OP.

I really do hope you are trolling.

PGI will continue to buff IS and ignore clans.

Here's why.

Clan population - we are already conditioned to pay $$ for this game as clan players had no choice when the clans came out. Sure, there are some new players who managed to save up c-bills to play clans, but they are few and far-between. Essentially, your potential revenue stream from clans is almost maxed already.

IS population - This is where new players go when they join - the mechs are cheaper to start with. Plus loads of players who have all-along played for free started and stuck with IS. There is a massive opportunity to convert IS players from FREE to PAID players. Therefore, PGI's potential revenue sits with the innersphere.

That's why we see so much more effort go into IS. Even down to faction camo. Compare the faction camo that came out for IS vs the ones that came out for clans earlier. The Clan ones can't even be customized at all. The IS ones - 6 of them - can all be customised completely to any colour. Plus they look way better.

So no matter how much clans lose or how obvious it becomes that clans are starting to fall behind - and only have 3 viable mechs and basically 1 viable build (laservomit) - the attention will still all go to IS mechs.
Besides, quirks are not just a balance mechanic - they are also a purchase-driving mechanic.

Don't you realise, every time a new mech gets good people flock to buy it? Every new quirk pass PGI will change the meta and make a new mech go from terrible to "must-have", therefore swinging a huge number of purchases without releasing a new mech pack.

The only way clans would have gotten attention would have been if wave 3 sales flopped. But sadly we're all addicts to this game and i'm sure they did fantastic.

The only reason Clans have lost ground is because of the IS's numbers and how the MM creates games (having factions getting stuck on Defence or Counterattack and being unable to take/retake territory).

As for the matches themselves? Since I started pugging as a Clanner, I have been winning all the time.

Rofl what a joke. IS somewhat bands togather and makes a big push against the clans and all the surats come out of the sewers to cry about it. Has nothing to do with mechs or quirks, you clanner twits have been doing the 4 way clan circle jerk for months now, time to see how it feels when the IS does the same. 0 sympathy.

2 weeks of Clan CW. 15-3. I do consider a 5-1 ratio as 'winning all the time'. Especially as a pug. :P

So about that "Clamz OP plz nerf" stuff...yeah...not so much.

EDIT: Updated title to accurately reflect the updated status.

Prior to the last weekend's event, over the previous 106 days, each clan made the following gains:
CSJ: +78 | CJF: +68 | CW : +65 | CGB: +47
*missing SEA/EU

Now lets look at the past few days.
  • NA - 06:00UTC - 03/30/3050: 6 Clan Planets Lost
  • SEA - 14:00UTC - 03/30/3050: 1 Clan Planet Lost
  • EU - 22:00 UTC - 03/30/3050: 6 Clan Planets Lost
  • NA - 06:00UTC - 03/29/3050: 6 Clan Planets Lost
  • SEA - 14:00UTC - 03/29/3050: 5 Clan Planets Lost
  • EU - 22:00 UTC - 03/29/3050: 7 Clan Planets Lost
  • NA - 06:00UTC - 03/28/3050: 7 Clan Planets Lost
  • SEA - 14:00UTC - 03/28/3050: 3 Clan Planets Lost
  • EU - 22:00 UTC - 03/28/3050: 5 Clan Planets Lost
  • NA - 06:00UTC - 03/29/3050: 1 IS Planet Lost
  • NA - 06:00UTC - 03/28/3050: 1 IS Planet Lost

44 total planets lost in three days. The largest change of planets from one faction to another in a single weekend.

If nothing else, this exposed a major flaw in CW design for PGI they were previously unaware of. Now just remains to be seen if they can fix it before the Clan population simply leaves.

So, um, what tactics are there besides those listed? Is there a special mid-range meta that I'm missing? It's all long range until you are 270m IS medium effective range. Then it's all short range. There's not really anything in between that's notably different than one or the other.

Clans are OP!
I have gone about 20-3 this weekend and the ER Large for Clans are OP
Was on Boreal Vault and all the Timber Wolves were running 3-4 ER lasers and were chain firing and it kept going!
FRR has cut CGB and Clan Wolf in half...
Steiner is closing in!
Liao is wanting in on the action!
Kurita is rejoined with its capital!
The Clans are doomed to a terrible fate!

On the contrary, almost every single match I've participated in has been centered around midrange engagements. Brawling is uncommon, and sniping is waning.

Boreal: first 3-5 minutes sniping at 700m - 900m range. Open gates. Spend 20 minutes at 300m in the trenches at D6/D7, and finish the last 5 minutes in brawling range.

Sulphurous: Push in Alpha gate, engage at 200m - 400m for the entire match, with a handful of <200m encounters.

Hellebore: Push in from either side, engage in the canyons at ~300m, with a few snipers tying up the enemy snipers 500m or so.

Grim Portico: Push in Beta gate, engage at 150m - 350m, or push all the through and brawl.
