Honestly I don't see the reason for the hatred of the new Marauder, it looks good and adheres to the basic layout of the original design, and if fighting one on the field in MWO I wouldn't expect Khyron to suddenly jump out of it and begin beating on my mech with his fists. Looking at the artwork in most TRO's, there are a large number of designs that are not exactly 'pretty' but are favorites of many players. The artwork of the reseen is no different. Just looking at what they have done with the Stalker and Cataphract I think those reseens designs could end up looking damn awesome in MWO. I've always looked at the Macross/Robotech unseen as 'borrowed' and it would be better to go with a fresh image then to flog a dead horse for nostalgia.

I like the originals better for the most part, mainly the Warhammer and Marauder which are my mechs of choice.

Considering what the design team has done so far with mechs I considered ugly, I expect that any filter they put on a mech, unseen or not to be a general improvement. For example their Trebuchet is as different from the older drawings, as the unseen are from most of the reseen designs. It can be hard to turn off the Nostalgia filters, but I trust they will be able to come up with excellent designs that stay out of the legal grey area but it might take more work on their part. I expect them to not dip into them any time soon until they have used all the good non-unseen options. No matter how much I want my Wolverine WVR-6M. . .

Prefer the originals I have to say.. the new designs look nice and all but they are not the same. Take the Rifleman for example.. the original is just so iconic.. and then you look at the reseen version and it has lost that iconic look..

Not to nitpick, but your unseen longbow isn't an unseen version, that is a reseen but not phoenix version.

This is the unseen version, though I am not sure it was ever seen with stats (but was in various artwork).

Reseen renditions are pretty good for most 'Mechs so far. I still prefer unseen versions of BattleMaster and Warhammer but that is just me.

I think most of the reseen are legit. Yea they may not be as distinctive as the originals but we have no one to blame but Fasa for ripping them off anyhow. Id say 75% of those reseens i would like to see in the game. All the veritech reseen are pretty awful but thats to be expected considering theirs no jet fighter cockpit between their legs.

Why do I find all the unseen/reseen so ugly? I find no appeal in them except for the Warhammer, but even then I have little interested in piloting it.

Warhammer - Unseen or not at all. The Reseen version looks like another mech altogether.

I don't think they are all that bad, and let's be honest, they're still a far cry better than much if not most of FASA's in-house mechs from back in the day, like this abomination:

OG... though I am somewhat curious on what the new Thunderbolt looks like. Seening those re-seen is like watching a car accident... you just can't look away because your wondering if it can get any worse.

Not voting, as I'm fine with the reseens if we get them in game, except for Warhammer which is my fav mech. That reseen version of it is absolutely horrid.
