A wee bit late on the uptake, the AWS 9M and AWS 8Q Awesomes are great!

I like the beam duration quirks for laser systems and the heat generation quirks on PPC/ER PPC because they adress the downsides of those weapon systems and make them "easier to play".

1) The old LPL quirks on RVN-2X.
Yes, I know it's more powerful now with the LL quirks, but I liked not sticking out all of my top half of the mech to be able to shoot effectively. That mech had a bit shorter range, SAME burn time and noticeably lower alpha. The main trade-off was some heat-efficiency. The most important thing: It doesn't WUB anymore T_T Q.Q ;(

2) LRM20 on the CPLT.
Almost made it worth playing.

3) Arrow quirks.
6xMG with +range on them is great. Although inaccurate, they're great both DPS/t and DPH (damage per heat).

4) JR7-O, RVN-H and most importantly the FS9-A. They are capable of wrecking anything in the right hands. Especially the firestarter. If you don't die of stupid, you can get to 650+ damage numbers without any concern for ammo.

My favorite quirks are all durability quirks. These are good and help to compensate for vulnerabilities in inherent geometry.

My least favorite quirks are all quirks having to do with weapon mods. If I had to choose specifically it would be the high % duration and heat reduction quirks for lasers. Talking more than 10%.

Weapon balance is an issue especially when you promote boating of one type of weapon on a chassis by giving it crazy quirks.

Favorite quirks would be the large laser quirks on a battlemaster (not the wubmaster but the 2 energy in each side torso).

My favorite quirks are the negative heat related quirks for energy weapons.

For example the ENF-4R has an Energy Heat Gen reduction of -12.5%.

Any quirk that helps a pilot manage heat, is a great quirk!

Structure quirks on the gargoyle, Ice Ferret, and MLX. They are awesome!

Huginn! finally you can use srms on an IS light mech and not be underpowered. Though, you stay back most of the time in current meta because of 400+ range lasers and dual gausses.

I really like quirks that reflect on the mech's stock load out. The cicada 3C and the Jager mechs quirks are great because on the Cicada 3C, the quirks reflect what the mech originally carried, a PPC. The Jagers all have quirks that pertain to the stock load out. I think these are the best kinds of quirks.

I like the ones that make the thunderbolt the best heavy IS chassis in game by a landslide. I also love the quirks that allow the dragons to completely outclass any other heavy mech that carries the same loadout. I especially love the quirks on the timberwolf A that almost completely negate the usefulness of the chassis. Thanks PGI!

More serious: the armor buff on the various warhawk omni-parts.
It's by any means not indestructable but it finally feels like a true assault mech.

Love the LRM10 quirks on the Hunchie J. So much fun.

Durability quirks. that is all that should have been put in to begin with, minus a very select few mechs with bad hardpoints, like Pretty Baby getting some "juice" for the limited weapon arrays.

Things like Stalker 4N LL quirks are LOLWUT to me. People say it was worse than other stalkers? Give it more durability than the others. As if a Stalker needed more dmg output.

I really like the Hunchback Grid Iron Quirks. Makes the mech really fun to play in combination with speed. Reminds me of my dragon, but then with a high mounted weapon.

*facepalm*

I can't blame you for these being your favorite quirks, I just facepalm because it's for all the wrong reasons....
if that's your point then well played, sir

Why facepalm?

I don't like the meta style sniping stuff. I want to have more challenge so i traded the engine for an xl engine, and i now run at 97.8 kph. With a really nimble torso twist and turn angle its really cool in my opinion. That being said, if it wasn't viable, i wouldn't use it. I am not one of those who plays a cicada with 2x AC2 and a med laser and a really slow engine and tells its viable....

My favourite quirk is the one that lets a fully loaded with jump-jets SDH jump from the water in River City onto the citadel...

The first Quirks for the AWS-8Q were the best I thought. The Quirk test ones. Center Torso armor buff. And a Heat Sink efficiency buff. Quirks that don't force you to use specific weapons or builds. Although things like PPC travel times and Laser duration are fine, the broadly applicable buffs like Recharge and Heat reduction should apply to all weapons of that group, Energy, Missiles, or Ballistics. This gives players more challenge.

I understand the reasons for the Quirks, but the cause is that mechs get made with low payload weight and/or hard points and are not tough either, have large center torso hit boxes. So conversely you could look at mechs with low payload and hard points as needing to be tougher than mechs with high payload, like the tiny payload Summoner. Summoner could be fixed by being made very tanky and I think that type of balancing is the best use of the Quirks.

The recent set of armor quirks for the HGN-732B and BLR-2C have been a step in the right direction. I believe all weapon quirks should be reduced to around 10% and mechs should be given armor buffs in their place.

Dragon 1N quirk... it was the first mech I purchased and is a long time favorite and now it's durable enough that it doesn't instantly die and with the dakka perk it's useful.

Now if I could get a jenner CT armor buff I'd be over the moon.
