Are you guys sure that a joystick or hotas is the best way to play this game? I see the point for MW4 and the others, but here things might be a little different. From what i have seen the arms reticule is pretty direct if not completely connected to the input. That means you can shoot the arms like in any other FPS and then wait for the torso to come after. With a joystick you cannot shoot your arms at any time where you want.

(Sorry for bad english)

Does anyone use the Razer Hydra with MWLL or another MW game? Looking at the principle of work it should be faster and more precise, than a regular joystick - with center-return, or gamepad - with its not-so-precise ministicks.

OMG.. I think I found what I want more now than ever.. ! At $99 not to expensive..

Its like my Gamester split in half with gesture features.. ! And it should work.. (Unlike the Gamester)

Glad if i could help you. :D Already ordered this one, since now it has a script editor to configure the axes and buttons functions. Will try on MWLL.

I've got a Logitech Extreme 3d Pro that I'm pretty unimpressed with. It's fine control is terrible and this makes it very hard to target enemies at range.

Definitely looking to upgrade before te game is released.

Got the Gamester working.. ! Found a button on the controller that changed it from a digital signal to an analog once.. Once in analog it worked great.

That said it could have also been installing this driver as well that seemed to help as it is no using this driver and not the MS "Twin USB Joystick"

http://www.saitake.c...loads/setup.rar
The file is safe as I have used it and it does come from a manufacturer.

Anyway, tried it on MWLL and it works Really good  I will say MW:LL does take a while to figure out which buttons its calling which, and which invert it is calling which.. But once you spend time going in and out of games, shutting and opening the game.. you can get it mapped how you want it..

The Gamester came in two varieties.. Xbox and PS2, while they operate and look similar they are not interchangeable.

To get it to work in on a PC you need the PS2 version with a PS2 to PS3 convertor cable.

Then all you have to do is run the above executable file, and then let Windows 7 install its drivers.

Make sure you switch controller to Analog mode and it should work.

I may still get a Hydra.. as while similar in feel to the Gamester, it will have more features, buttons and support at least until it also becomes abandonware.

This issue has been haunting me since I heard the game was coming out. I got rid of my Sidewinder less than a year ago :)

After reading this thread many, many times, I was determined to get the x52, but then I saw this:

http://www.frys.com/...%3AMAIN_RSLT_PG

Its only good until April 12, 2012, and I happen to have a Frys down the street...so I now own me a nice, new Logitech G940. I had a sudden panic attack when sitting at the dinner table, thinking of the times that I might just want a joystick and not deal with the pedals for torso-twisting, but I think I'll be ok, one way or another...

and the extra $100 I saved was amazing...

I got one of these off of ebay for like 20 bucks shipped, But I ordered a Saitek X45 flight control system they are going for about 20 bucks and about 40 shipped. :)

Have a Saitek X45 as well and used it originally for a flight sim. Love it so much I decided to re-install MW4. Loved it and can't wait to use it for MWO.

closest I found to my sidewinder precision 2 pro is the logitech extreme 3d pro joystick. Not the same, but reasonably accurate and a similar layout. The quality is not as good I do not think, but it is decent for the price. I may go with something different with MWO, it will depend on their controls set up and how many extra features and controls are required VS previous MW games.

Loved my Logitech Wingman Extreme 3D. Was great for X-wing vs. Tie Fighter. But as Far as I know it's not supported by Vista or 7. But last time Ilooked was a few years ago. Even trying to install from CD didn't work.

I have a Thrustmaster Topgun Afterburner Pro. It was all right, the problem with joysticks is its really difficult to get them set right for shooting, torso twisting, and moving at the same time while still being able to hit anything. Switching into reverse really got me because it required a button press, because the throttle couldn't be adjusted for mid-setting stop.
I ended up snapping the plastic pegs holding the joystick to the base while playing MW2: Mercs. I fixed them with modeling glue and used a postage stamp to re-attach the Y axis sensor. The problem I have is that these things are too flimsy, I need something made out of steel. So I'll try keyboard and mouse first.

Well they said we'd be able to look around in the cockpit - what better tool than TrackIR. I could deal with using a M/K setup, joysticks would be ideal though but the TrackIR in my experience has been INVALUABLE.

I heard about TrackIR from a friend back in school. He didn't have it but played a really involved FPS (like something that shows you just how arcady Modern Warfare and Battlefield games are) that fully supported it. It sounds like it would be useful for running while torso twisted so you can look to avoid plowing into biuldings. MW2: Mercs actually supported a VR helmet that would track your head as you turned it, really useful but for the fact that it was 10,000$.

TrackIR is awesome! Just picked on up last month to use with my G940 in Rise of Flight and hopefully for MWO. There is a lot of speculation whether it will have native 6 axis support in MWO, but I do know that PGI has the SDK from for it and that at least one trade magazine reported TrackIR support just after GDC.

Still waiting for offical word from PGI, but I have high hopes for it in MWO. This is the control set-up I'm concidering:

Torso twist/elevation/depresion torso weapons: Joystick - right hand
Throttle/forward/reverse: Throttle - left hand
Steering/left/right: Peddles - feet :)
Jump Jets: left toes brake - left foot
Full Stop: Right toe brake - right foot
Free look arm weapons : TrackIR - heasdset
