So Clanners had less players yet won, but we can see that Clanners caused more friendly fire damage than their IS counterparts. So if we have less clanners & the clanner players are also of lower quality to their IS counterparts but were still able to win the event, then clearly Clan mechs are still OP.

Total Friendly Fire done by IS Mechs: 4,065,350

Total Friendly Fire done by Clan Mechs:4,280,595

and maybe PGI can also tune down those quirks on Thunders and Stalker, brah....

Beside, don't you think it's easier to do a good firing defence line, instead of having to attack and pass through small choke points while firing at defenders?

What I find slightly disappointing is that the top three factions appear to have basically been the ones with the most numbers in. Not sure if that is due to people switching factions at the end of the event, to game the rewards system, but it doesn't look as though a huge amount of people did swap.

In which case, it appears that numbers, rather than skills, were the deciding factor in faction placing. Bit sad about that.

Thats definitely true for me! I had a great time playing the event, wasn't frustrated even a little bit, but I only had time for 7 games.

OK points already mentioned, but not together and i find they very interesting for some of us.

- How many IS players reached the 40 / 50 points?

- How did you get the CW Veteran - Beta 1 title?
I played a lot, reached the 50 and really wonder why i did not get that...?

A reply would be great.
Thanks PGI

Not so sure, it would favor the side with the highest number of viable mechs...

That's easily addressable by allowing one side or the other more deviation from the median usage rate in their overall dropdeck. So maybe one side has more viable variants; fine, hold them to the median overall and allow the other side to select mechs with higher usage rates on average.

I want to see more unit statistics.
  • Total match played.
  • Number of Wins
  • Points earned by unit.
It is so intresting to know, how much did the units for their factions and sides. And, of course, to compare the contribution by units and solo players.

People complain about the Stalker-4N a lot, but the most deaths came by Thunderbolts.. very likely Thunderwub builds.

I am not a master of unit tactics, but Isn't the Stalker used for the assault rush to get the O-Gens down (and the opponents legged) and Thunderwubs merely on defense? At least that would explain it

Well, concerning these numbers, I think the IS vs Clan balancing does quite well over all. There is always a reason to complain, but I think this is mostly because of special situations.

Points per player (per faction):

Davion: 11,236 / 2019 = 5.565
Kurita: 20,152 / 2092 = 9.633
Liao: 5,420 / 685 = 7.912
Marik: 8,544 / 1221 = 7.000
Rasalhague: 13,288 / 1812 = 7.333
Steiner: 19,315 / 2661 = 7.259
Clan Smoke Jaguar: 12,632 / 1110 = 11.380
Clan Jade Falcon: 19,427 / 1516 = 12.815
Clan Wolf: 34,350 / 2956 = 11.620
Clan Ghost Bear: 19,157 / 1862 = 10.288

Conclusion: davion is worst faction

Possible, but not inevitable conclusion.

Points of argument:
- Many people quit after the first Point (and 1465 didn't even get one point).
- Davion is the first banner in the tab where you choose your faction
- People can buy IS mechs much cheaper than Clan Mechs

My guess would be:
A lot of people got lost without a point or even with no point at all and chances are, that for reasons 2 and 3 above, a higher than average percentage choose IS, especially Davion allegiance.

High Clan point average would be explainable in parts by their apparently non-existent waiting times.

Note that I was in Kurita House until the map reset, I have no reason to defend Davion.

The big data sets don't lie and it would appear that the game is pretty well balanced. Very well balanced in fact. Look at the damage and kill numbers, they are within a fraction of a percentage of each other.

Just saying but outside of being good mech Stormcrow also enjoys the advantage of being longest available for cbills clan machine in 55-65 tons range as well as being the only one that had meaningfull sale (45% off at launch) so it's absolute dominance in numbers is easy to explain.

-A visual showing that you either dropped out early or made it to the end.
-I think the statistical treasure trove is in how these numbers were separated between Clan vs. IS. Did a lot of Inner Sphere folks quite early on? Were the majority of people who made it to 40+ Clan? ( I think that would explain why there were more IS players, yet IS players had around 20-30 minute wait times.
-I'm IS and I don't even want to admit how much time I spent on this challenge to get the 50 points. { I only missed my point on 5 games, mainly due to game crashes}

Edit: It seems you can't embed a link to Flickr images in this forum. I hope the raw link above works.

~200,000 damage difference is a unnoticeable difference if you compare numbers.

Actually while fighting with Clans my friend gone this path to get the enemy:
Spoiler

I don't complain - because he get him. :D

But this event gave unpresidented view on both Clan and IS mettas. PGI should really fix those laser vomit and SSRM boats and boats in general. They causing a lot of grief and ruining MWO experience.
Really, we don't need mechs to do this kind of gameplay, just add LRM and Laser platform trucks - they will do a better job. :)

Bigger delay for arti and air strike use is also would be beneficial - on more then few occasions I felt that I was playing against aero-space fighter/bombers, and not battlemechs.

Come on PGI - it's you who subscribed this game as "A Battletech Game", time actually make it that way. I stand on suggested energy/ballistic burdening system that is hardwired to stock build damage output. Example: AC20 can be replaced with 4xAC5 without loosing quirks and PPC can be replaced by 2 Medium Lasers or 1 Large Laser.

Future burdening would give penalty in form of slower weapon reload, example: TDR -5SS stock energy weapon damage output: 25.7 points, but we put 3 PPCs in it - now total damage equates to 30.

30 - 25.7 = 4.3 extra damage pints over burdening limit, for example will give slowdown in PPC charge of 4.3%, together with quirk removal as a first penalty this would negate desire for building a boat, yet you still can build it if you really wish so. :)

This would end boat era for good.

Can we see the percentage of wins compared to losses for each faction? Also a breakdown of where each unit placed on their faction's leaderboard?

Win percentage is important. It doesn't matter if clans lost just as many mechs as IS if clans are accomplishing their goal of attacking and destroying the objectives in the process. The goal of the match is to win, and at least half of the time winning means killing omega. No one would say we have balance if IS kills just as many mechs as the Clans, but loses 90% of the matches...
