I find threads like this very sad.

You do not rent property or anything that you can get a "refund" on. You support the company running the game (= help them pay their bills) and in return you get some nice little digital toys.
MWO Mechs are no real value per se (like cars) that PGI could sell to anotherone. If they "take them back", they simply delete the database record. That's it.

Asking for a refund on a digital service is somehow equivalent to saying "After using your service, I want to kill your company please. Can I do that?"

I understand your point of view.
I don't ask a refund on anything i have spent on this game : i really have enjoy the game. I would just want to know how much i can take if i want a refund. If i can have a refund on stuff that i don't have use very much, because i don't play a lot for the last two months, etc...

I will never ask a refund for the firs MCs i have buy, two years ago. I'm not a vulture.

Internet service provider (the company that you get your internet from) . Sometimes they send your data weird ways and that leads to a sort of lag and stuttering because your data move with the speed of a Citroen 2cv. It could also be a Telia issue with one or more of the nodes going out from europe.

Ok, thanks.

I have "the fiber" in France. I have a good connection. For example when i have re-install MWO, i was at 20mb/s while i was downloading.

But i don't know how i can check the "Telia issue" you are talking about.

A bad internet connection will have no effect on FPS. It may lead to lagging and jerky movement, but the FPS counter is unaffected.

You should really reinstall the OS and use latest official drivers. Maybe also consider resetting default BIOS settings. Then when you still have bad FPS in all games it's either a heat problem or an otherwise damaged hardware component.

To identify heat problems, you can run some CPU and GPU load tools like these:
- For CPU: http://www.cpuburnin.com/ (start it several times to load all cores)
- For GPU: http://www.ozone3d.net/benchmarks/fur/
Let them run for an hour and check towards the end with one of those tools:
- http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/
- http://openhardwaremonitor.org/
- http://www.gputemp.com/

Some good suggestions here, but I'd run diagnostics on the RAM if I were you. You might have a bad stick.

I have a marginally worse PC than yours (I5 at 3.4, 8GB ram, GTX650TI)

I run at High / Very High graphics, at a consistent 50+ FPS. (I could drop to Medium / High for consistent 60FPS, but I prefer the slightly shinier over +5-10FPS, or pump everything to max and run it at 25-35 FPS, but nah).

Please check: How to Optimise MWO if you're having Framerate Issues or are using a lower spec computer as it applies to high end rigs aswell as giving you playable performance at the low end.

Sounds like my computer a few weeks ago, make sure to take compressed air and blow the dust out of your power supply (this was the culprit for me) and your video card. Also, make sure you have some fan controller software (like afterburner) and make sure that it hasn't somehow turned itself off.

So after cleaning my computer :

- Bioshock Infinite with all the settings on ultra-high : average of 60fps

- MWO with settings on low, damage glow off, v-sync on, AA off : average of 25-35fps, depending of the map. It's more playable but not good. On a brawl i drop at 20fps.

This is my user .cfg

cl_fov = 86
gp_option_ShowCockpitGlass = 0
r_DepthOfField = 0
r_HDRGrainAmount = 0.0
sys_MaxFPS = 30
r_ssao = 0
r_ssdo = 0
e_TerrainAo = 0
sys_PakPriority = 0
sys_PakPriority 0
sys_PakValidateFileHash = 0

So i think it's not my PC the problem : it's MWO or my connection...

Yeah, you set your own FPS maximum to 30 with that variable. Increase it to 60 or higher or remove it completly and you should instantly get a better result.

Don't put lines into your user.cfg of which you do not know what they do.

A helpfull thread, but when even the user posting it, says that he doesn't know what a command does, you shouldn't use it. Just because it works for him, does not have to mean it will work for you as well. He does explain the FPS line though. If you follow a guide, read it carefully.

Hi everyone!

I have a question : i want to stop the game for the moment, if i ask for a refund on anything possible on my account, does anyone know how is it working? I have a chance to have some stuff i have use to be refund? etc...

Since the last patch i can't play to the game anymore : the FPS are really bad, it's unplayable. I can't play with my lights again. i have something between 10-20 fps in a match. Maybe it's because i play in France too?

i was starting to play in a competitve purpose with my unit last year, but i can't play in a team anymore because of such bad FPS...

I have spent a lot of money on this game. I mean A LOT of money. I really love this game. But i can't play anymore because there is too much bad implementation on the engine of the game.

I don't have a war PC gamer configuration, but i have some medium good stuff :

Core I7, @3.06gHz
8 gb of RAM
MSI GTX770

Well, this post is really sad, sorry. Most of the time i have a good sense of humor. But ATM i'm a little sorry............ =(

This is such a pity, i play since october 2013, but now i don't play anymore.

Honestly something sounds like it isn't working right On your PC to get bad Frames like that.

I use an i3, 750TI and on High settings i'm 45-75 depending on the map.
And that is just with 4GB of RAM which is really low honestly for playing this game.

Do you run GPU-z at all or something similar to ensure that your GPU is being utilized correctly?
Do other games give you low FPS?

It has nothing to do with your geographical location, that relates to your Ping. Your FPS is solely based on your Hardware, and for such poor frames something has to be wrong.

Other game lkike bioshock Infinite plays very well at maximum settings. It's only MWO.

My Ping is at 100 in the game most of the time.

For the user file, it's the only time i have use the line for the FPS. I know how it is workling, it's just that this evening i havent read the line, i have just test the user file raw from Ovion's post.

I have that same GPU but with an i5 2500k, i wasn't having frame rate issues but i was having some crash to blank screen i couldn't figure out.

I finally looked into msconfig after seeing the event file report. It seems nvidia 3D vision driver was running even though i don't have/want that, so i disabled it and it appears to have fixed the problem. Hopefully that helps, sorry if unrelated.

If you like playing, invested in the game and in your team, why not invest in a better computer instead of trying to cash out for no return on your investment? Actually, any size able refund is highly unlikely, so you'd be cashing out for a loss.

Honestly, your CPU seems to be the culprit, you need it closer to 3.5ghz because the engine is CPU heavy. Invest in a new processor or over-cloking what you have.

Stop porn from starting up on you!
  • click start
  • type msconfig
  • click startup tab
  • click disable all
  • click "apply"
  • reboot
Your rig is too good for this excuse. Either you have memory on the graphics card failing or you have too much porn.

First thing to try is launching the game, clicking the gear icon on the top right, then changing it to the 32-bit client. The last patch forced the client to the 64-bit version if it detects a 64-bit operating system. Some computers might have a problem with that.

If you're on a laptop with a discrete card and an integrated card, it might not be handling the switch well. See here for a fix if that's the case: http://mwomercs.com/...ost__p__4371470

Next thing to do is email support@mwomercs.com, let them know the problem, see if they have a fix, or if they'll comp you something for the problems.

You have basically the same setup as me, and my FPS is still perfectly fine 60+. Something seems to be really wrong on your end.

Is he running the game in DirectX11? DX11 will have a negative affect on frames too.

Then it had to be something on his end. A setting, a profile...something. I have a i5 3.5ghz with a GTX970 and my FPS is over 200. With lowered gfx, that 770 should be able to run the visuals and the CPU would be able to crunch the computations to maintain a descent FPS if it is truly ok.
