So after cleaning my computer :

- Bioshock Infinite with all the settings on ultra-high : average of 60fps

- MWO with settings on low, damage glow off, v-sync on, AA off : average of 25-35fps, depending of the map. It's more playable but not good. On a brawl i drop at 20fps.

This is my user .cfg

cl_fov = 86
gp_option_ShowCockpitGlass = 0
r_DepthOfField = 0
r_HDRGrainAmount = 0.0
sys_MaxFPS = 30
r_ssao = 0
r_ssdo = 0
e_TerrainAo = 0
sys_PakPriority = 0
sys_PakPriority 0
sys_PakValidateFileHash = 0

So i think it's not my PC the problem : it's MWO or my connection...

Aleski, not sure if anyone else suggested it but turn v-sync off as it will always halve your fps.

Hi to the OP just to ask might not have a great effect but your hard drive is a HDD or SSD.

A Sandisk ReadyCache has 32GB of persistent cache, providing SSD performance for less then $40 and no need to replace the HDD. I have 15sec loads into Windows, 20sec to load into the game and less than 30sec from CTD to back in game. I load into match waiting room with +85secs on the start timer. Totally worth it if data acquisition is the bottleneck.

I have not seen anyone mention this yet; how are you cooling your computer? I was having the same problem last year and it turned out that the cpu fan had busted. I got a new one and then the game ran fine. So it might be a good idea to check your fans on the computer.

Delete (move somewhere else) the user.cfg until problem resolved.
Set all graphics settings low, antialiasing off etc.

This game will suffer worse than most if there is a heatsink issue since it is so CPU bottlenecked.

Your rig is too good for this excuse. Either you have memory on the graphics card failing or you have too much porn.

Gneh??? Me don't understand, me poor french guy (sorry i don't understand what you try to say)

First thing to try is launching the game, clicking the gear icon on the top right, then changing it to the 32-bit client. The last patch forced the client to the 64-bit version if it detects a 64-bit operating system. Some computers might have a problem with that.

If you're on a laptop with a discrete card and an integrated card, it might not be handling the switch well. See here for a fix if that's the case: http://mwomercs.com/...ost__p__4371470

Next thing to do is email support@mwomercs.com, let them know the problem, see if they have a fix, or if they'll comp you something for the problems.

I have a tower, not a laptop. I run the game in 64-bit client cause i have Windows 7 64bit. You think it should be a problem to run the client in 64bit?

If i don't find any solution, i will send an e-mail to the support. I don't want to disturb them if we find a solution in this thread ;)

I'm running in DX11, i will try in DX9 this evening, maybe i will have a better performance. I have to test different things.

Hi Aleski,

there is some good advice here, but try two easy things:

1) run MWO on 32Bit mode.
I did run it on 32bit as 64bit got a huge drop in FPS for me until recently i added another 8GB of RAM... now with 16GB i only run on 64bit, cause it runs way better then the 32bit version.
For you: try 32bit!
2) Run on DX9.
Serioulsy try it, it should help a lot :)

I'm running an old HDD. But if other games run with high perf, i don't know if it's the problem.

I have check all of the hardware yesterday, the fans are all clean and they are all operating. The heat is OK in my computer. I will chech the temperature with a software tonight to see if it's a problem or not.

So how do you explain that other game have good performance? It's only MWO who have some problems...

Thanks to all of you!!

I will check things tonigth.

I'm planning to buy a new proc, a new mothercard (don't know if it's the right word in english), a SSD and something like 12-16gb of RAM in something like 6 months (time to save some money first).

I just want to find a solution to continue to play the game while i have this present configuration. I was a little messed up since i wasn't able to play the game while two years ago at the beginning, it was working well =(

Thank you for all your responses!

Get rid of the sys_MaxFPS = 30 out of your config, it is limiting you to 30 fps and under.

instead of refund
ask for help
contact technical@mwomercs.com

tell them your problems
tell them your machine specs
they will try to fix your game and get it working again

also run the repair tool
open patcher
click cog on top right
click start repair tool
click options on top left
TICK ALL BOXES
run scan
when scan finishes reboot pc

make sure latest video driver is installed
make sure all windows updates have been installed

boot game
test
Good luck

If after trying everything on the thread, i still have some trouble, i will send an e-mail to the support team with a link to this thread!

Thanks!

it's most likely due to the crap GTX770 issues.
if you run it on DX11 and 64bit .
and with high graphic settings.
your hitting the last 500MB of the Vram...
google GTX770 VRAM issues and you will understand...
if you live in the states you can get a refund....

I live in France. It's the first time i hear that GTX 770 have some issues.
I will check on Google tonight if there is some trouble / solution on my graphic card.

Thanks for the feedback!

I think this thread is going to be helpfull for a lot of people. I have see that many players have experienced low FPS since the last patch.

You are confusing the GTX 770 with the GTX 970. The 770 is fine and has no such problem.

You shouldn't delete it, unless it's hitting close to 30 anyway.
Then increase it (Mines at 60 atm I think? maybe 65).

If your FPS is in the ******* anyway, this setting helps a lot.

Maybe it will change something. I'm going to test in DX9 and client on 32bit first. After that i will tune the user.cfg file to test different settings.

Key word - shouldn't.

Mine shouldn't either, but MWO has pretty poor optimisation, and even on my old PC which ran everything else on Ultra, it could just about manage low/medium at 30fps for MWO.

It may be a hardware issue, there may be a fault there, but I can at least help with the software side to try improve it a little.

Other game lkike bioshock Infinite plays very well at maximum settings. It's only MWO.

My Ping is at 100 in the game most of the time.

For the user file, it's the only time i have use the line for the FPS. I know how it is workling, it's just that this evening i havent read the line, i have just test the user file raw from Ovion's post.

And others, including myself, don't have the issue you do with MWO which indicates it is some kind of issue with your PC, it's files or the settings. Games are programmed differently and an messed up driver may affect one game while not/lightly impacting another. If it has been a while and the issue isn't resolved through simple means I would really consider re-installing the OS and everything else.

Not sure if anyone else has mentioned it but make sure you restart the game regularly because there is a memory leak issue that can really drop your FPS. I've also had to start closing and relaunching my google chrome browser due to a similar issue.
