You forget that when the poll was orginally announced, it came with the caveat that, even if it was a majority of "Yes" votes, PGI might choose not re-release the pack. Given the immense amount of opposition PGI is facing over this, the "Yes" majority would need to be large indeed to warrant alienating so many of their loyal fans.
So... PGI doesn't want to re issue the Pack and is just putting on a Dog and Pony Show... Got it. This is why I don't get upset. I see a lot of the Same Old Song and Dance. It's been everywhere for decades, and it is a rare event when anyone says what they do, do what they say, and prove it.

After much thought on the poll I voted no. I purchased the battlemaster bundle and have worn the badge every day. I purchased with hopes of a good game with a long life-span. To this day I wear the badge and pilot the (P) variants often. (I did the last two challenges completely with the battlemaster.) I see both as a token of history. “I was there” when the game was young. “I was there” when the game was beta. “I was there” when there was no guarantee the game would last another year. “I was there” when the forums raged and IGP ruled. When I see someone else with a (P) mech I know they were there too.

Today I have more mechs, badges and content. I will never change my badge away from the overlord because it shows history. Reselling the package now feels like it cheapens what it stands for.

I feel your pride. I do. I understand it too.

But dude, its a game and the pride is misplaced.

People take pride in the strangest things - some even in things they had no part in, like the country they happen to be born in, or something that happened long before they were even born.

At least TamCoan was there, took the leap of faith, and gave PGI his money six months in advance - at a time when MWO's future was very much more uncertain than it is even today.

Why shouldn't he feel proud of that?

I voted yes, because I don't see the harm in letting others get the pack but really the important thing is that they're asking the Phoenix owners.

I understand that the page for the sale specifically said that these would never be on-sale as a pack again, but it seems that over the years there has been enough demand to warrant a poll. No inherent harm in asking. Now, if PGI had just gone ahead and all of a sudden the Phoenix packs were on-sale again I'd be confused and a little annoyed but this is not the case. The fact that they're asking at all is a good thing.

It looks like we need 18 or 19 votes to tip the poll into a 55/45 split. I seriously doubt that this trend will reverse itself in the next day.

Looks like the "No" crowd will win. The gap has widened by another percentage point to become a 55/45 split!

Spot on sir. :D

So glad you understand how Opinions work! B)
As long as we can remember that we can disagree whenever we want. ;)

See this for instance is a difference in Opinion.

Is it really better?

Will someone buy my game from me for hundreds of thousands of Dollars? If I had a 1st Ed Di, someone might!

I had a LE Leviathan-class warship mini.

It was mine for running "The Trial of Retribution".

It sold for $125 on Ebay. A $20(give or take) Mini sold for $125... Stranger things happen.

I want that battleship. I have NO BT minis right now, so getting it is not really a good way to start a new BT collection, but I still want it!

If veteran identification is what makes you want to keep the package, why not petition PGI to make the Phoenix re-release not come with the titles, and maybe the mechs could say (P2)?

Hope and/or Fear.

Both powerful motivators.

Agreed.

I was just saying that's some of the intent behind those statements is to motivate people one way or the other with whatever is their agenda.

sadly, people in general are enough lemmings, to be swayed by it, too. We saw that with how many people Vass and others led around like Pied Pipers back in the Beta days. Or the general level if imbecility on Reddit.
